Dash seriously cracked and loose at top of instrument cluster cowl so that it causes a rattling noise. could effect safe deployment of air bag.
Dashboard has cracked behind steering wheel area. suddenly appeared on 12/07/2016. vehicle is always parked in garage and not exposed to any extreme weather conditions. cleaning has always been done with a damp cloth. no chemicals are used to clean this area. sunshade is used if vehicle is parked outside.
2009 gmc yukon xl, 61000 miles. dash around the airbag and all over the instrument cluster has cracked in multiple places. this vehicle has not been in any accidents and has never been driven off road. it has always been garaged. this is a very common problem with chevy/gmc trucks. if the airbag deploys there is a very good chance that pieces of the dash will pose a significant hazard to the vehicle occupants.
