Tl*the contact owns a 2008 gmc yukon xl 1500. the contact ordered a vehicle that was specifically designed to tow a trailer. the vehicle came equipped with goodyear passenger tires, size p26570r17. while driving between 55-60 mph, he noticed that the vehicle swayed from right to left. the contact almost lost control of the vehicle. he believed that the passenger tires on the vehicle were insufficient for towing a trailer. a representative from the dealer stated that the tires were standard for that model. they also suggested that the trailer was overloaded; however, the vehicle tows up to 8,100 lbs. the failure mileage was 2,500. updated 05/19/08 *bf the consumer stated he experienced severe swaying problems while towing his trailer. the consumer believed the factory installed tires were designed with soft sidewalls for a smooth ride in a passenger car and not for the trailer towing which required tires with stiff sidewalls to discourage swaying. the consumer stated the vehicle should have light truck tires. update 05/20/08. *jb
