Tl* the contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon xl. while driving 35 mph, the steering wheel seized and the stabilitrak warning indicator illuminated. the contact first experienced the failure two years ago and took the vehicle to braeger chevrolet (4100 s 27th st, milwaukee, wi 53221). the dealer replaced the spark plugs, but the failure recurred. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic to be diagnosed or repaired for the recent failure. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 185,000.
There is a recall on 2006 gmc yukons for the power steering hoses as they become fractured and can cause fire. i have a 2007 yukon and when i took it to the dealer for service, they indicated that my yukon is starting to show the same fractures in the power steering hose. hopefully this can get fixed before someone gets killed as gmc did not bother to fix the known issue when producing future vehicles. *tr
