Yesterday i started my vehicle and turned on the a/c. the a/c blower was blowing at the highest setting regardless of the control setting. i turned the a/c off and the blower remained on. i turned the ignition off and the blower continued to run. the blower continued to run for approximately 8 minutes while my husband researched online how to get it to stop. the blower did not stop running until my husband removed the fuse. if my husband would not have been with me the blower would have continuously ran, causing it to overheat, and possibly causing a fire. also, we have digital gear lights on our dash. those lights started periodically dimming several years ago and have since gone out completely, other than the seldom random occasion, so we can no longer read what gear the vehicle is in. we took the vehicle to the dealership where it was purchased and asked what the cause was and how to repair it. we were told the complete instrument control panel cluster would need to be replaced at the cost of $350 for the panel alone. after doing some research of my own, i have come to find out this seems to be a very common problem. not knowing what gear you are in is definitely a safety issue that needs to be handled by gm. *tr
