My terrain is stalling really bad some days and sometimes no problems at all. it does it more when going into reverse, i have to keep giving gas to get backed up. it has also died on me when i slow to a stop like at a light. this is really frustrating!!
I was driving my 2012 gmc terrain and as soon as i slowed down or stopped my car would shut off and i would have to try to restart it. fortunately, i made it home without having to stop. as i was turning in my driveway it shut off again. onstar suggests it may be a timing issue. help! i took it to the dealership to get a new battery and when i got my car back the fuel sensor was not working. it was working before they got it and gmc collierville refused to fix it.i can't afford all these major repairs and will not by another if gmc does not resolve the consumer's issues.
My car oil consumption is excessive. i have repetitive codes: p0089, p0300, p0366, p228d, p0014 and the check engine light being on. car is jerking back and forth when at a stop light. tapping noise made also. every 1000-1500 my car is always needing oil (at least 2 quarts) and i also have to put more than the usual amount of gas in it then when i first purchased.
The truck burns oil incredibly fast. due to this ongoing issue, it caused the timing chain to break and we had to spend nearly $800 for engine repairs. even after having it in the shop numerous times for the same issue, the truck still eats through oil incredibly fast and it seems to only be getting worse. i received a letter in the mail saying that there was a recall regarding this but that they would send me info through the mail on how to go about fixing this issue, but i never received anything else about the recall.
2012 gms terrain 4 cylinder flex fuel- camshaft code, cam sensors replaced, spitting and sputtering, stalled x3 and shut off, fuel consumption noted, loss of power. gmc dealership refused to perform diagnosis on my car due to my refusal to pay for ruling out the documented fuel leak recall/special coverage. my request was only to have fuel the issue looked at and ruled out, nothing further, to ensure this was not causing my problem. i reported my problems that are consistent with the noted fuel special coverage and turned away because i did not have $120 to pay if they found it was not the problem. upon reading my issue correlates with numerous terrain and equinox owners. i want in this action to get something done for people like myself.
As i was driving down the road at 55 mph hour my suv began to shake extremely and was throttling at very high rpm's and the suv thrash to sudden halt and continued to shake and idle very high and loud. i tried to hit the gas to get myself off the road as i was on a 2 lane highway with my 4 year old son in the car, and the engine revved and the rpm's spiked but i went not more than 15 mph, at the same time the following errors appeared on my screen: 1) service stabaili trak 2) engine power is reduced slowly i was able to safely get the car up to 35 mph and get us home safe. i did some research and seems that this is a very well known issue with gmc so i contacted gmc and was basically given the runaround. i took the car to a gmc dear today and was told it was the fuel pump that needed replaced.....
At low idle or when backing up and accelerating vehicle the engine stalls. this typically occurs after driving car for 10-15 minutes. engine light appears. it will continue to stall unless holding down brake & accelerator at same time. stops stalling when speed increases, but stalls on low speeds & backing up continually. code indicates camshaft adjuster sensor. first sensor replaced. problem occurred again immediately after leaving garage. second sensor replaced. problem occurred once again! mechanic thinks it could be ground wiring issue is burning up the camshaft sensors. the car is not safe to drive.
Car die (stall) at idol after warmed up drive it 10 miles stop at stop sign it die restart die again may do that 3-4 times before it will take gas and run does this intermeditly run fine for half a day stop run in store come out restart and it die (no chugging just die) auto parts store said it was a crankshaft sensor when they checked what had the check engine light on (note check engine light not come on each time it stalls)
After stopping at mailbox the low fuel illuminated, the fuel gauge indicated empty. the tank was half full prior to the 12 mile trip home from town. not sure when the problem occurred, because it might have taken a few minutes to pump out 8 or 9 gallons of gas, however it was on this12 mile trip home. 6 miles of highway at 55 mph and 5 miles of paved county road at 30 mph and 1 mile of gravel road at 20 mph. after the low fuel indication the engine was stopped, fuel was added from a container, and when the engine was started the fuel streamed out on the ground. the vehicle was towed to a local repair facility, because it was closer than the dealer. gas line and clamp were replaced. the mechanic indicated the plastic gas line and plastic clamp were hanging low, and no protective cove over it. *tr
I started out driving on highway road at approximately 5:45pm traffic was moderate, my speed was about 30-35 mph. all of a sudden i heard a clunk and then alarm ding from the dash as well as message "service stabiltrak" then "reduced engine power". i was unable to go any faster than 25mph. i drove in this mode for about 2 miles in traffic, when reaching open highway (no traffic) the vehicle would not shift by itself. i had to accelerate then let off the gas, tap pedal then the vehicle would shift. i was able to do this multiple times until reaching about 45mph. i pulled off into a neighborhood, shut vehicle off to see if this would reset something, it did not. the vehicle was in this state when i arrived at the dealership service department at approximately 6:05pm. dealership logged following on service request: 5043 found code p228c ran diag could not duplicate problem fuel psi at spec raises to spec test drove on highway did not duplicate condition found no bull on condition test drive numerous time, could not duplicate concern. miles out 5067. *tr
