Brand new truck. stuck at the gym in the middle of the night truck wont start. the interior lights, head lights, and radio wont shut off. vehicle wont start. i'm assuming the battery was drained because interior lights, exterior lights, radio, wont shut off. has to be some kind of electrical malfunction. waiting on gm roadside.
Putting vehicle in reverse turns the interior display brightness (reverse camera) on as bright as it goes, like a flashbulb going off right in your face. this is especially dangerous at night and leaves temporary blindness which affects the ability to see out into the darkness afterwards. there is no ability to adjust the brightness of the interior display. i can even turn the display off and shifting into reverse turns the camera back on with maximum brightness.
When exiting from one highway to another in heavy traffic were breaking was required, my trucks power steering and power brakes had completely gone out. i was on a straight track for a highway patrol who was standing outside his vehicle along with another motorist. after fighting to steer the truck while trying to brake to avoid hitting other motorists i realized that the truck had also died. shook up and scared i started the truck and began to drive away with the officer yelling what the hell are you doing. the truck has done this several times. three of which almost resulted in an accident. it has been in the dealership were they told me it was a high resistance in the negative battery cable which was replaced and resulted in no change.
When backing up in the dark the backup camera goes to full brightness and is very disorienting and makes using you mirrors very difficult since your eyes are adjusted to the dark. using the backup camera screen is useless due to how bright it is. happens when vehicle is stationary or in motion.
On screen display for backup camera. when putting the vehicle in reverse, the on screen display is so bright that you can't see out the windows, the rearview mirrors or the surrounding area. this display does not dim with the rest of the lights. this causes a severe safety hazard when trying to backup the vehicle.
When making right turns in the dark the headlights do not cast light to the right so you can see where you are turning. this is especially a problem in the rural without streetlights it is totally black from the drivers seat looking over the right side of the hood or out the right window.
Display screen to bright when vehicle is in reverse. when putting vehicle in reverse the backup camera display is so bright you can not see your exterior mirrors or out any of the windows to see surrounding area. this is very unsafe condition because you are blinded while backing up. when took the truck to dealership i was told they can't duplicate this. and have had no other complaints???
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 gmc sierra 1500. while operating the vehicle at night, both the low beam and high beam headlights illuminated extremely low, which created a visibility hazard for the driver. also, while driving in forward and reverse, the brake pedal became extremely hard to depress and the stopping distance was extended. the contact indicated that the failures were more present while driving at low speeds in reverse and after pressing the brake pedal multiple times. the cause of the failures was not determined. charlie's chevrolet (1412 us route 202, winthrop, me 04364) and the manufacturer were notified. the failure mileage was 14,000.
Tl* the contact owns a 2014 gmc sierra 1500. the contact stated that the headlights were dim, which made it difficult to see well at night while driving. the contact stated that the vehicle was equipped with halogen bulbs. the contact upgraded to led bulbs, but the illumination did not get brighter. the vehicle was taken to charlie's chevrolet (877-688-4621, located at 1412 u s 202, winthrop, me 04364) where the technician recommended a diagnostic test. the test was not performed. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the vehicle performed as designed. the contact was informed to take the vehicle to the dealer for diagnostic testing. the contact upgraded to hid bulbs on his own, which offered better lighting than the original bulbs. the failure mileage was approximately 20,000.
