Problems with 2005 GMC Envoy EQUIPMENT

2005 gmc envoy out of the blue my speedometer works intermittently and my gas gauge reads empty with light on even though i have a full tank of gas! additionally the factory speakers work intermittently. this vehicle has electrical issues! *tr

Exhaust manifold failure. mechanic says in 25 years he has never seen as many failures as in these models,as it is usually very rare for them to fail. in researching on line i have found it is a common problem in '03 through '08 model gmc envoys and chevy trailblazers. *tr

Out of nowhere my front head lights went out. its not the fuse or the bulbs, both front low lights went out. the high beams work. there is no power going to the lights and i have to buy a new switch. i also had to replace the engine almost a year ago because the o rings went up. the gas gauge is broken and my passenger window will not go down. i feel so stuck with this car! *tr

I have a 2005 gmc envoy that has just started having issues with the fuel gauge. i have filled the gas tank and the gauge reads empty with the fuel light on. then 10 minutes later the light goes out and it reads that i do have fuel. then a little later it starts going down and reads empty again. i have re-stopped to get gas to find that the tank is full. this is wrong and there should be a recall on this item. it draws the driver's attention away from driving and must have caused accidents somewhere in the usa. *tr

Reported earlier gas odometer broke when fueling vehicle on 2 seperate occassions, first time fixed, then again while fueling gas, it broke. failed to mention my problems with the speedodometer. it was fluctuating all the way up, then all the way down irratically before it dropped down to the middle. *jb

1) in both instances while pumping fuel. 2) gas gauge began to move erratically while driving. 3) first time the fuel level sensor was replaced by dealer, the second instance we were advised to use fuel additive and higher grade of gas, no difference has been detected. *tr

First the engine started making noise and the engine light came on, the dealer replaced a belt for 200.00. secondly the gas gauge stopped reading fuel levels, dealer stated that the sensor was dead and would cost 300.00 to replace. next the engine died in the middle of the street. the vehicle will not turn over and the engine light is back on. also they had a sunroof installed for me. a week after purchase the sunroof started to open and close even when the car was shut off, it was repaired but now i am having the same problem again. *nm

I was driving home from work entering the freeway on ramp. the ramp is controlled by a signal and i was waiting my turn when the engine failed. i was coasting downhill into another car when i hit the brakes and there were no brakes. i bumped the car in front of me damaging the front grill and hood of my car. submitted the car to the dealer for evaluation of an electrical problem. the dealer has been unable to duplicate. *jb

When rear entertainment dvd is used, there is no rear visibility. the screen blocks the rear completely and you are only able to use the side mirrors. this i feel is a major design flaw, as my other vehicle by a different manufacturer does not have the same problem. *nm

Tl*the contact owns a 2005 gmc envoy. the contact stated that the engine made a loud knocking noise when driving. while driving uphill, the vehicle dramatically decelerates as if the engine was stalling. the engine and oil lights illuminated on the instrument control panel. she took the vehicle to the dealer for an oil change, but the oil light remained illuminated. she took the vehicle to a local dealer four times and they reprogrammed the p.c. another dealer stated that the engine drags when traveling uphill, which was probably due to the clutch fans. the contact also stated that the air conditioning system does not work. after all four repairs were performed, her vehicle continues to experience the same failures. she contacted the manufacturer and they stated that they would not provide any financial assistance because the extended warranty expired. the speed was unknown. the failure mileage was 3,809 and current mileage was 82,000.
