I have been reading many of these post. i can't believe all of the things that have also happened to my envoy. i have had my back window blow out while driving, thank god that both of my kids that were in the back seat were not hurt, they were just scared and still ask if it will happen again. i also recently just had to have a piece on the gas line fixed which was almost $900.00 money that i didn't have and had to borrow. i am still paying it back. now as for last night my low beams are not working, i bought new bulbs and that didn't work, so it is back to the mechanic. oh and i have a check engine light that goes on and off. they really need to get on all of these things. it would be nice to have the car working the way it should be. i may just print these things up and bring to the gmc shop and see what the can do about it. i mean i really to love my suv but this is crazy. i am now kind of scared to have my kids in the car. *tr

Last evening our family loaded into the envoy and my son opened the hatch halfway and realized he forgot something and ran to get it. the car was not running yet. we heard a loud "boom" and glass shattering and hopped out. there was glass all over our driveway and even pieces up to several yards away. the glass on the hatch had exploded. it was extremely scary and we were so relieved that my son had not been standing right there and that the hatch was partially open so the glass didn't blow toward my rear facing infant, toddler and 8 year old son already loaded in the car. luckily no one was injured but my children did later cut themselves on shards of glass that made it over to the yard. the whole experience was incredibly upsetting. even our neighbor came to help. we are extremely concerned about our children's safety in this vehicle. our insurance covers the cost after our $500 deductible, however, we are afraid the window will blast out again and afraid especially for our rear facing infant and sons riding in the very back. i cannot imagine why a recall has not occurred since this appears to be an issue others have experienced. *js

The back window on my gmc envoy 2004 exploded when my son was closing it. thank goodness the glass pieces hit and cut his forehead and hand and not his eyes! *tr

On a cold cleveland ohio day, i started my 2004 gmc envoy and turned on my rear defrost, and about 5 minutes later my rear window just exploded! i was on the highway, and the sound was like a gunshot, and it nearly caused me to get into an accident, but i managed to pull my car off the road safely. *tr

The blower motor on our 2004 gmc envoy quit working and upon taking it to the dealer to repair, the dealer indicated that the blower motor resistor and the wiring harness that plugs into the resistor had melted together. when attempting to order the two parts (resistor and wiring harness), it was determined that the wiring harness is on nationwide backorder. the service manager also indicated that he has 5 others on backorder. from that comment, he indicated that there is a major issue with the wiring harness and resistor melting together on a national basis. the fact that the heat was so great to melt these two components together clearly indicates a possible fire and safety hazard. i believe it's something that should be investigated and a recall issued. *jb

I have 2004 envoy have had problems with alternator. started about 6 months after i bought the envoy had i replaced 3 times then started having problems with back seat window on passenger side not rolling up. then my girlfriend had a flat on side of road and could not get spare down i had to go out and cut the cable that holds it up. that is a unsafe thing to do on side of hwy should not take 45 min to get spare down. headlights dim and brighten gets dim enough that makes hard to see. *tr

Turn signal failed and would freeze, or would activate the 4-way hazard lights. the dealership replaceed the relay switch. approximately one-two months later windshield wipers came on without the switch being turned on after i had cleared mist from windshield ,and will not turn off, almost caused collision. the deaker said the internal module ruptured.

I experience ear pain if i drive while all windows are down. (particularly the back windows). y rear windshield wiper failed to work for no reason. the next time i got into the car, it worked. *ak
