We purchased a $33,000 new vehicle in october. we immediately noticed the passenger front seat seatbelt locks then starts to tightening and never unlocks. i brought the issue to the service department, the new car sales manager, and gmcs attention. dean cloud in bentley_x0012_s service department told me that the seatbelt is designed to lock so a child_x0012_s safety seat can be put in the front seat. i showed him that the visors in the car and the users manual say never put a car seat in the front with the air bags. he said that the passenger must unhook the seat belt every few minutes then reconnect it. i find this unacceptable. the dealership is putting the passengers in the vehicle in an unsafe and illegal situation by telling them the only solution is to disconnect the seatbelt while the vehicle is in motion. the seatbelt in its current condition is choking the passengers, which is also unsafe. the seatbelt needs to be repaired or replaced. the differential unit had to be replaced. the bearings did not have enough tourqe (that is wht the dealer told me).*ak
When a car seat is put in the back center seat as recommended it is impossible to latch the shoulder belt in the right back seat (facing forward) to the belt anchor. the passenger in the right back seat must either not have the seat belt attached or use a 6 inch belt extension that is unsafe for non overwait toddlers. gmc told me that this is a design flaw and there is nothing that they can do about it. all i want is to be able to have a passenger ride safely in the back right passenger seat while my daughter is in a car seat in the back center seat.*ak
