I am the original owner of a 2000 gmc jimmy envoy. i smelled burning plastic as i was driving and was told by another motorist that i had no brake lights. the lights came on and stayed on and then they would not work. i took the vehicle to a local repair shop to replace the turn signal & hazard warning switch. this corrected the brake light problem. after reading about the reason for the recall of these switches, i disassembled the old switch only to find that it also had brass contacts for the hazard warning lamps. this was supposedly replaced in 2003 by a dealer. replacing it with the same part that was recalled! *tr
