While driving, the instrument panel shut down and then rebooted as if i was starting the vehicle even though the engine never shut off.
I was driving on a freeway 80mph and the steering went out. this caused the vehicle to veer from the left lane into the center lane, fortunately there was no vehicle in the center lane. gmc stated it was just a defective part. my opinion is that it is a failed design that would allow a vehicle to loose steering at 80mph. the vehicle has 46,700mi. i have had noises in the front and rear of the vehicle and am concerned that this may have contributed to the loss of steering. i have returned the vehicle to gm five times to fix the noises with no success.
