We have classified the 2 complaints from 2007 GMC Acadia about EQUIPMENT into the following categories.
2007 gmc acadia slt-1 passenger air bag light goes on and off while driving. and the display in the dash says passenger air bag needs servicing. i contacted gmc and they said they had no recalls listed for my vehicle based on my vin number but have found several websites that says there should be an open recall based on my vehicles year, make, and model. *tr

My family and i were traveling on i-20 back from columbia in my 2007 gmc acadia. i noticed a whining noise, tighten in the steering, told my husband that we need to stop for gas and check the fluids. yielding at the next exit i could not turn the steering wheel. i finally with all my strength turn the vehicle into a hess gas station. we check fluids and called onstar for a diagnostics report. the customer service rep told us that they did not see anything in the major parts but did try to call a gm dealership (king cadillac). king was not open and would schedule an appt on monday. my husband drove the vehicle to the dealership, which we left for early drop off. received a call from technical on monday pm, which stated it was the power steering pump. asked him about if there was any complaint or recalls on the pump because the power steering pump was replace back at 14,000 miles. this would be the 3rd pump that has been put on this car. i have been researching and noticed that there was a technical service bulletin on sept. 10, 2008 for this problem and many complaints since 2008. *tr

Existing odi id number references for 2007 acadias 10255735, 10254149, 10248331, 10211267, 10210839, 10210533 existing odi id number references for 2008 acadias 10246694, 10243591, 10241649, 10230134, 10229896, 10212682 the above odi id numbers signify existing complaints identifying water leaks and resulting damage in 07 & 08 gmc acadias. gm instituted recall campaign #08207: customer satisfaction - sunroof water leak-install drain tube extensions ' dated: aug 27, 2008. campaign was preceded by numerous tsbs linked to the same type of water leak. after first leak in oct08, brought vehicle in for the recall and experienced 2 subsequent leaks since the initial recall repair as a result of the same condition. have had mold in the carpet and padding on 2 separate occasions. have had significant corrosion in one of the 2 main fuse blocks to the point where srvc. tech at the dealership could not turn vehicle off using the ignition key. vehicle leaks after driving in rain. have service invoices stating that dealer performed water tests after each repair and found no leak yet vehicle has leaked after every repair. have detailed color photos of soaked wires, saturated headliner, mold damage and corroded fuse block. vehicle was only driven a total of 689 miles from date of the initial leak to date of the third leak. during third leak, water also dripped from vehicle's rear display onto third row seats. i feel that gm knew about this problem from the beginning because their aug08 #08207 recall actually identified vin breakpoints of the affected vehicles. instead, gm chose to deal with it on a case-to-case basis and it has become a very serious issue. the consequences of the water damage can and have already been far-reaching and potentially could injure, kill or affect the health of owners of these vehicles. consider opening defect investigation, order gm to do safety recall to fix problem before someone is seriously injured. this deserves some press. *tr
I owned a 2007 acadia and had 4 sunroof leaks and gm bought it back because it was a lemon. the last time it leaked the sunroof glass was replaced along with the seal, that seamed to fix the problem. i currently own a 2008 acadia and there has been no problems with water leaks. *tr
One nice day driving in town, i must have run over a nail or some other sharp item. while stopped at a light, i heard a hissing noise. i pulled into a flat parking lot to investigate - suspecting i had a leaking front passenger tire by the way the gmc acadia was driving. i removed the jack and spare from the back of the truck and also the manual from the glove box. following the instructions not only printed on the jack, in the manual, but also the underside of the vehicle - i placed the jack, made sure it was steady, and proceeded to jack the truck up. the jack collapsed under the weight of the truck. the emergency brake was set. i took every safety precaution especially because my sons were with me and they are teenagers (new drivers) so i was trying to emphasize the safety issues - lucky for me !!!! they are the ones that yelled that the truck was coming down. the design of the jack requires at least your arms to be underneath the vehicle to jack it up which is very unsafe. fortunately for me, i don't ever work underneath a vehicle unless there is someone else capable standing by. the entire jack was bent sideways - unusable. my opinion is that the jack points on the frame of the truck are correct; however, the material that the jacks are made from is subpar. although the dealer replaced the jack free of charge -- i won't use it. i could have lost my right arm the last time under ideal circumstances. i won't even take a chance that it's the same jack material next time. what if it were to happen on the open road in the rain where you had an uneven shoulder? *tr
