We have classified the 2 complaints from 2014 Ford Transit Connect about STRUCTURE into the following categories.
My family entered vehicle thru rear sliding doors. closed doors and put on their seat belts. we drove approx 1/3 of a mile and the rear driver side slider flew open in a corner.complete latch failure! these latches were replaced as part of the 2016 recall.
Has been blowing the backup camera 5 amp fuse, intermittently for the past few months. last few days the hill assist light and the abs light come on also the power steering goes away not a good thing, when i shut the ignition off then back on again most of the time the lights go off and the steering is back, i bought this vehicle new , it was never in an accident . the only repair was done by the local dealer they replaced the fuel pump and sending unit that was a recall..also the sliding door locks that were a recall . i found wires going to the lift gate have had the insulation skinned off because they rub on the inner body panel hole.. as you can see in the pictures i used liquid electrical tape on the wires and put plastic split wire loom tubing over the wires. also took white rubber tube and split it and put it on the inner panel opening that caused the wire insulation to get rubbed off. this ford transit connect van has 32,000 miles....i thought fixing these wires would cure the problem , after going for a couple rides and lifting the tailgate it still blows the fuse. and the other lights still come on. obviously the skinned wires i repaired were a problem , there apparently is another issue or two

During the winter rainy weather, water streamed out of the overhead interior light/reading light fixtures on both sides above the driver and passenger seats. there is audible sloshing water in the interior panels of both sliding back doors and passenger side seat belt is wet coming of the belt holder panel on the front passenger side with a sickeningly strong mold smell, indicating standing water or wet interior of the seat belt holder. this vehicle has had failures of the window and lock electric functions of the driver side windows and doors both front and second seat (back passenger seat). concern is that the panoramic roof window seal has failed, allowing water to flood apertures, including the electric window, door, and light switches and the sun roof electrical system. also concerned that this will lead to loosening of the sun roof bond so it could fall out or bounce out while the car is in motion. it is possible that this caused a recall on some us manufactured vehicles - we believe ours was imported from england but do not know for sure. this began in winter 2018 and continues whenever it rains. purchased the vehicle in july 2018.
The driver side back seat slider door fell right off. onto the ground and my foot. when i went to open the door from the outside using the handle. the motor and electrical for the rear wiper have broken at least twice. the paint is spontaneously coming off of the vehicle in small spots all over
The rear door of the vehicle opens on it's own. if accelerating then the contents of the trunk fall onto the road. the problem continues to happen even after repeated attempts to get it fixed at dealer, and over $1000 spent.
Two recalls have been issued on my vehicle and three different ford dealers (modesto, ca. tracy, ca. and stockton, ca.) had refuse to service them, i do not know what to do,noise is high and disturbing and the slide is broken, i am afraid the door could open while driving. recall 16s35 and recall 16s30 need help!!!
The spring-loaded conical door wedge receiver spontaneously becomes disassembled, impeding door closure. this occurs when the door is opened, and has happened to me or my wife on seven separate occasions. it renders the door inoperable. the vehicle has been stationary, in parking lots or driveways and has remained so until the part could be repaired.
Sensors and rearview camera start going off for no reason when in motion on a city street or highway. this has happened several times most recent is 10/18/2016. note if vehicle is put into park. and you wait 30 seconds it will stop. but starts up again, after 20 seconds.
Driving on interstate (highway speeds, windy weather), the entire panoramic sunroof blew completely off the vehicle. the panoramic sunroof on the ford transit is stationary and cannot be opened for ventilation purposes. it only lets in light. we now have a gaping hole in the roof of our vehicle.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 ford transit connect. the contact stated that while driving at approximately 55 mph, the rear driver's side window detached from the vehicle without warning. the vehicle was towed to a dealer, where it was diagnosed that the glue that was used to secure the window failed and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired under nhtsa campaign number: 14v777000 (structure). the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 30,000. the vin was unavailable.
The sliding door on the drivers side. i opened it and then it would not close. a little plastic spring / plunger from the "b" post had attached itself to the pin on the door and would not allow the door to close. there was no way to get the door to close other than to manually work and remove this spring from the door pin, however the plastic part of the spring / plunger is still impaled on the door pin. i am taking the vehicle into the dealer for repair - but obviously this is a serious design defect that keeps the door from properly closing and latching. *tr
