I have a 2005 taurus with 75,000 miles on it. the body looks almost like new. inside is clean. ive had no problems with this car. was bought new. went for inspection, car failed. frame rusted out. was told not safe to drive. cant afford another car at this time. this one should have lasted four or five years longer. will ford fix this?

I was rear ended at the intersection of howard ave, and kinnickinnic ave. the light was green there were 2 vehicles ahead of me not moving forward. my car was stationary with brakes applied than as i look up in my rear view mirror a ford f150 rear ended me. (red and gray) i reported the claim to my insurance and his. i also contacted the st francis police to but they told me to file a claim here.

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 ford taurus. the contact stated that the driver's side floor board was rusted out. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was unknown.

When it is cold out and you try to close the drivers door it will not latch. this has happened several times over the past month. the danger in this is that if you do not realize that the door did not latch when you closed it then it could open while you are driving it. i have 2 ford taurus's from this same year. my other one had the same problem and the latch ended up being replaced in that one. (that was about 2 yrs ago) when it started happening with this one, about a month prior to the date above) i started looking online and discovered this is a common problem with this model and year at temperatures below 20 degrees. *tr

2005 ford taurus se cleaned and inspected. right front passenger side carpeting found wet with mold underneath floor-mat. interior carpeting pulled back revealed thoroughly soaked carpeting and carpet mat/insulation. insulation destroyed from the water and mold. floorboards found to be solid and in good condition. minor surface rust appearing on floorboards from the excessive moisture trapped under the carpeting. water source found to be entering the cabin at the firewall where the ac evaporator drain tube exits the vehicle. evaporator drain does not appear clogged. this is a known issue with the ford taurus from model years 1995-2007. recommend recall. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 ford taurus. the contact stated that during rainy weather conditions, water entered the vehicle through the floorboard. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who was unable to diagnose the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 67,000.

There are huge holes in the passenger, driver and rear passenger floor pans. the passenger side floor pan is completely gone - only thing that prevented the passengers feet from falling through was the carpet. the driver's side floor pan has a ~ 8" dia hole. the rear passenger side has ~ 10" dia hole. *tr

On october 25, 2013 i was driving down the highway, the accelerator took off on its own (it was like someone else was pushing the gas peddle) and i lost control of the vehicle. i hit the fence, then the car turned hit the tree until the car came to a stop. my whole driver side is pushed in, my windshield is cracked, the trunk flee up, my rear view mirror, the outside mirror, and head light is off. the hood is bent and the engine was on the ground. known of the tires were flat. the air bags never deployed. i hit my face and chin on the stirring wheel. my ribs are bruised and my face is swollen. i chipped my tooth on the wheel. my baby was in the back seat, the inside seats fell down. she was not hurt thank god nothing major happen to us. *tr

Driving in a neighborhood at 30mph, while going up a steep hill car suddenly accelerated, attempt to brake was unsuccessful, put in neutral and shut off ignition causing car to go back down hill into a building. *tr

On 01/03/13 temperature outside was in the single & lower teens. i entered my 2005 ford taurus closed the driver side door it was frozen. i then let car run for 40 minutes blowing heat directly on interior driver door, i then tried passenger door seem to be ok. when driver side door became unfrozen i drove off, the passenger front door flew open, i pulled the car off the road, i tried to close door, still frozen. after 1 hour of warm up both doors finally closed. if i had a passenger on this occurring date they could have been ejected from front passenger side, due to frozen door latches. this problem occurs every time during cold weather. on 01/04/12 let car run to warm front interior doors to thaw out latches, exit car the door latches locked, car was running, keys inside, could not enter car, got extra car key to enter car to shut engine off, this should not have occurred. this is a major safety problem due to door latches freezing and not closing and flying open and doors locking while running engine to thaw out door latches. *tr

I was trying to park the vehicle but when i hit the brakes, it accellorated, then i put it in reverse and it went about 50mph backwards causing me to crash into 2 parked vehicles. it stopped when i put on the emergency brake. *tr

My husband was driving our 2005 ford taurus with the air conditioner on high, he heard a pop and then saw flames coming out of the engine. he was able to get out of the vehicle and call the fire dept. the car went up in flames. the mechanic said the fire started in the air conditioner. the car is a total loss. *tr

I have a 2005 ford taurus. whenever there is moderate to heavy rainfall, water leaks into the passenger side under the dash, soaking the floor and the blower motor will not work. while driving the windshield fogs over and i cannot get the blower to turn on, causing visibility issues while driving on the road. this is happening to a lot of people, this should be investigated and a recall issued. *tr

My 2005 ford taurus has been a headache since day one. today on my way to work the car suddenly accelerated and applying the brakes was a challenge as i almost couldn't stop when pulling over for safety. prior to this, over $2000 for a new engine, another $900 for a new transmission, another $250 for a power steering pump, and daily issues like the door not latching and me trying to hold driver's door shut while driving at the same time, and then having to tie a rope across the front seat to the passenger door. also, the daytime running lights turn on on their own at any given time and drain the battery. this car is a piece of crap. if you buy this kind or car, make sure you have aaa too. *tr

I was driving my vehicle and heard a click. i hadn't pushed any buttons and didn't think much of it. a minute later i looked in the rearview mirror and saw the trunk had opened on its own. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2005 ford taurus. she stated that water was leaking into the vehicle on the passenger side of the front windshield. the dealer stated that she would need a rain cap extension installed on the vehicle to correct the failure. there were no recalls related to the failure. the current and failure mileages were under 89,542. updated 3/17/10 *cn updated 06/17/10*jb

The paint is bubbling and peeling on the roof, front bumper and the rear bumper. *tr

After it rains, the passenger side floorboard is soaked. there is also rust on the metal parts in the glove box as well as drip stains. i have reported this several times to the dealer since i purchased the car and was told it is just moisture causing the rust (such a lie). they said the smell in the vents was caused by a small build up of water in the air vent reservoir. i have only 17,000 miles on my 2005 taurus (which i purchased in september, 2006 with only 247 miles on it) but the manufacturers warranty just expired this month. i do have a 6 year extended warranty. i called the dealership where i purchased the car and was treated very rudely by the service manager. he said i would have to pay $100.00 to "investigate" the problem and that it is most likely not under warranty. this problem seems to be occurring in many sable and taurus cars yet ford has not recalled this problem. it seems to be a major problem in these ford vehicles and ford should take responsibility for this and fix it at their cost. how quick they are to take my money to buy the car and the extended warranty yet they will not fix nor acknowledge publicly this problem (which they created). please investigate and tell ford to do a recall. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2005 ford taurus. the contact noticed water on the passenger side floorboard. the dealer stated that water was leaking from the air intake heater box and the weather stripping cowl panel failed. the cowl panel was replaced. the failure mileage was 43,917 and current mileage was 44,017.

From the date of purchase until current the vehicle was brought into the service department at the fold dealership in regards to a noise radiating from the right front dash area. 8/4/06 mileage 6,958. action taken: service attempted to fix noise in dashboard by placing a piece of foam between the dashboard and windshield. 8/8/06 mileage 7,001. it was 8/8/06. vehicle taken in for noise in right side of dashboard. foam is showing and this was at least my fourth trip in for this problem. action taken: replaced right a trim, checked pillar weld. windshield stress crack. removed air bag. inspected and sent to body shop for weld work. 8/30/06 action taken: removed upper dash and garnish trim, repaired weld broken. 9/1/06 returned to landers body shop to pick up vehicle. this same day, at 3:30 pm when the temperature was warmer outside when i left my office the noise was still there. i drove down to landers auto body and gary patterson and a woman named karen both went for test drives with me. neither said they could hear the noise, even though i could. they stated all they could hear was road noise. i mentioned that joey in the service dept. had heard the noise on previous visits. they sent me over to service and joey went for a test drive with me and joey did hear the noise. 9/12/06 - met with ford zone representative and took car for test drive to duplicate problem. was told that the a pillar has "no safety impact" when i expressed i was concerned about the welding that had to be done on my vehicle. the windshield had stress fractures in it and they welded at least three different locations. i have an open case with ford in regards to the repairs. my inquire is about any safety issues that could be involved with the a pillar not being correctly welded. the problem has not been resolved and am currently waiting for a response from ford. *jb

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 ford taurus. the contact stated that whenever it rained water would leak into the vehicle on the front driver and passenger side since it was purchased. the dealer was unable to determine where the leak was coming from. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 120 and the current mileage was 60,000. *tr

Dt: 2005 ford taurus shocked the consumer everytime he exited either side of the vehicle. the vehicle was taken to the dealer who applied a wax coating to keep this from happening. the wax application did not help so the dealer told the consumer to spray the vehicle with static guard. the seat were sprayed several times with static guard but this did not help. the dealer did not keep record of any service dates. the manufacturer was then contacted who then contacted the local dealer. they did start a case as of 5/4/05 (case no. 5edn4008) and stated there was nothing that could be done about it. the consumer is concerned health issues. *nm
