Door opened while driving straight due to faulty latch assembly made of plastic. door was closed and there were no indicators of it being ajar until it opened at 35 m.p.h. on a busy roadway.
While driving at highway speed got a fuel cap loose warning light on dash board. pulled off the highway and checked and it was tight. took the 2006 ford ranger to the repair shop where it was found that the cross frame that supports the spare tire under the bed has rusted free at both ends! it was fortunate that the cable that lifts the tire into placed was still attached. had the tire come loose it would most likely caused the rear end to lift up and at 60 mph in morning rush hour traffic that would be spectacular! the reason for the warninglight was tha as the frame broke loose it crcked the connection to the emissions canister that is mounted on the corss framemember.
Tl* the contact owns a 2000 ford ranger. while driving, a thumping noise was present coming from the vehicle. after parking, it was discovered that the bed of the vehicle was damaged and misaligned. also, the driver and passenger side frame behind the cab was fractured due to rust and corrosion. the cause of the failures was not determined. todd judy ford (7891 maccorkle ave, charleston, wv) and the manufacturer were both notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 260,000. *tt*jb broken frame
Rear leaf spring bracket rusted off from frame, while loaded and on route home from tree nursery. rear frame sections rotted and cracked on vehicle with only 72000 miles, found when trying to replace blown brake line in rear drivers side (rusted).
Rear end of truck is rotting away spare tire holder broke while driving spare was hanging down had to be removed luckily it stayed attached to the truck with the cable and didn't hit any vehicle's the bed is extremely rusted if i get in the back of the bed it cracks and feels like your going to fall through bed is becoming loose and leaning to one side. its a 12 year old vehicle so i expect some problems but not this extensive i feel like its unsafe to drive without a new bed on it
Took truck in for small repair on power steering hose. mechanic told me the underside is so rusted it isn't even safe to drive home. recommends junking vehicle.
The lower part of the radiator support has rusted and is no longer attached to the frame of the truck. truck is form pennsylvania, this is the only spot of major rust damage on the vehicle. vehicle has 103000 miles on it. i noticed this when i herd a strange thumping noise when accelerating or braking quickly. when popping the hood i noticed that when pushed on the radiator would move. thats when i noticed the rust and that the lower part of the support is no longer connected.
Rear end of frame completely rusted out. leaf springs broken. spring shackle broke off. brought the truck in for service unaware there was so much irreparable damage. damages occurred while driving on a city street. pieces of the body were missing. exact date damages occurred is unknown.
