We have classified the 1 complaints from 2006 Ford Ranger about POWER TRAIN into the following categories.
Awful banging sound while driving, inspected truck, found rear bumper hanging half off. rear portion of both frame rails had rotten off. rear spring shackles rotten and not attached. i pulled the bumper off with my bare hands! if it had fallen off while i was driving it could have killed someone. this is not an old beat up truck, as a matter of fact it only has 17,000 mile on it. it still looks brand new. the ford ranger xlt 4x4 extended cab was bought new in 2006 for $20,000, now its useless, can not even fix the spring shackles, nothing to attach them to. *tr
Replaced seals in drive train due to leakage, which caused need to replace pinion bearing. repairs cost $936.13. *tr
Automatic transmission doesn't maintain enough pressure to prevent the vehicle from rolling forward or backwards. extreme pressure to the gas is need to rebuild the pressure in the transmission to stop the rolling action. *nm
I bought my truck brand new last month on april 18th i have just over 1000 miles on it and within the first 400 miles i had problems with starting the truck, when i turn the key most of the time it starts, but occasionally if i let go of the key about the time it normally starts the engine dies and once when i attempted to start it again i heard the starter make the noise like it does if you turn the key and the engine is already running. also my transmission will occasionally jerk when it shifts gears. i took the truck back to the dealer where i bought it at and they told me that the tech drove it and the shop manager drove it too and they could not reproduce the problem. i am still having this problem, i would hate to have the problem continue after the warranty expires and then i am stuck with a huge bill to fix it. *jb
