Takata recall. ford has sent me notices for years on this recall. i call every ford dealership in town every time i get one, all claim they don't have parts, and can't get them, and will call me when they do. they never call. i called number provided on recall card, "agent" for ford told me to call the local dealership. i explained i had just finished doing that again and got the same response as i always get and the agent just told me to call the local dealership. ford seems to be trying to circumvent this recall.

I have received 2 notices in as many years and have called my local ford dealership to set up appointment to replace my air bags. after multiple calls to the service department/ manager i haven't heard anything. i have also notified fmc and they gave me a case number and i have given that case number to the ford dealership service department manager and it's been over a week and fmc assured me that all dealerships had been supplied with ample parts to remedy these issues. i am past mad. i am infuriated. once this is issue is fixed i'll never own another ford product.

Takata recall - local ford dealer, bartow ford, has failed to repair the repair after two phone calls.
Takata recall: problem with ford dealership i received notice of the recall in january. i called the local dealer (purvis ford) in february, again in march and again last week (june 4 ). i spoke with i believe the service manager the last two times. both these times i recall leaving all pertinent information. this process is taking too long. i was told ford has not sent the replacement devices. but i was also asked where i bought this vehicle. that should not matter. what responsibility do ford and the dealer have to fix my vehicle quickly? i am afraid to drive it and will not have passengers. i believe ford is being negligent in their efforts to protect me and my family.

There is a recall that has went in to effect on 12/13/2017 from the ford motor company (#17s42) stating manufacturer safety recall issued for airbag inflator replacement. but, the last 2 months i've contacted my local ford dealerships numerous times about a remedy and when the part will be in to replace and repair this i have been told they are uncertain when they will be available. this made me wonder how something this serious of a safety risk and description of the recall stating "if an inflator explodes metal fragments could strike the driver or other occupants causing serious injury or death. this free repair is a final repair for both the driver and passenger frontal airbags on your vehicle. important, the airbag inflators in your vehicle must be replaced even if they were previously replaced under any other recall." this gives me a great deal of concern as this is my transportation commuting to work. my vehicle is a 2004 ford ranger. i just contacted ford manufacturer over the phone and was told to call local dealerships and was not given an answer. what is my next step? i just hope i am not involved in an accident where my life or the life of my girlfriend and unborn child are at risk.
Airbag inflators - january 2018 i received in the mail ' safety recall notice 17s42/nhtsa recall 17v787 and 17v788. i called chapman ford located at 3951 columbia avenue, columbia, pa in january and they told me they do not have the parts. they told me to call in 30 days. i called again in february and they told me to call them in 30 days again. i called them again on march 19, 2018 and they do not have the parts and have no idea when they will be getting them in. i called chapman ford located at 1485 manheim pike, lancaster, pa left several messages and they never returned my call. in the meantime, i am driving an unsafe vehicle. it appears the dealerships are clueless on the safety recall notice and do not care about their customer's safety. it has been three months and i am not getting any answers on when my vehicle will be repaired. thank you for your assistance. sincerely, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

Takata recall received notice in december 2017. notice informs customers parts are available on 1-15-2018. i have been calling dealer(s) and ford motor headquarters about lack of part issue - was told to keep calling back. now, i am told from ford of ocala i must drive an unsafe vehicle just for them to put me on the list for the part - not what the recall says. recall notice states to call dealer and request a service date on or after 1-15-2018 for recall 17s42. i was told that recall is good only until 3-31-2018 and if not repaired by then, ford will not repair..

Have called two ford dealerships and they both say they do not even have parts to fix this and they are on back order for awhile. one even said they didnt know when they would be getting them! sure hope no accidents for this to get things moving on this. nothing like getting the customer concerned with nothing they can do about it!!
Is this a critical recall or just ho-hum? ford said repair parts were available. my dealer can't get them because they don't know parts are not available. ford is not talking to dealers about parts availability so my dealer can't explain why they don't have the parts. should i be driving my truck or not?

Ford motor company sent me a recall notice for both driver and passenger takata airbags in january, 2018. this notice says replacement air bags are available. my local ford dealer ordered replacement air bags in march, 2018. my dealer has not yet received the replacement air bags (as of 23 april 2018). this dealer says ford has failed to supply replacement air bags for a large number of locally owned ford products. ford has lied to me by saying replacement parts are available, and has failed to supply parts for a mandatory recall of potentially deadly pieces of my vehicle. i urge the nhtsa, in the strongest possible terms, to join with other federal agencies to sanction ford motor company with huge monetary fines and criminal charges against its executives, and to force ford motor company to immediately provide replacement air bags for all its affected vehicles. meanwhile, force ford motor company to furnish to affected ford vehicle owners, free of charge, similar vehicles for customer use until ford's explosive takata air bags are actually replaced. this corporate malfeasance is unconscionable. my government needs to protect me from this long known, potentially deadly, faulty product.
