Problems with 2001 Ford Ranger SEATS

On average, the 2001 Ford Ranger starts to “feel” problems with the SEATS and its various aspects after 105 000 miles.

Recently reported SEATS problems on 2001 Ford Ranger

My driver side seat recliner feel backward during a quick stop. the recliner pin appears to have broken. in order to drive the vehicle i must prop up the seatback with a box so the seat will not fall backward, which would make the vehicle unsafe to drive.

Bolt in drivers side seat sheered into 3 pieces causing the back of the seat to fall back rapidly while i was driving. *tr

Dt*: the contact stated while driving 35 mph, the vehicle slid on black ice and rolled down a hill. the driver seat back pushed forward trapping the driver, and caused minor injuries. a police report was taken. the vehicle was towed to the tow yard and later deemed totaled by the insurance company. the dealer was not contacted.

Consumer has extended cab with seats that face toward the door. seats don't have good support or stabilty. occupant's head hits back of seat when brakes are applied. complaint has not beeen filed with manufacturer.*ak

Right front seat doesn't slide or tip forward enough to get into rear of vehicle. also, can't reach in to fastened safety belt when a child is in rear. contacteed ford, and ford stated that was the way vehicle was designed.*ak
