I have filed one report already about the brakes. wanted to inform you that the brakes are currently out as described in the recall letter. we have zero brakes and had to use the emergency brake to be able to slow down. took to the dealership, they havent looked at it bc there is no replacement part which leaves us in limbo. we found the brakes we not working while driving and trying to slow down. pedal went to the floor did not slow the car down without using the e-brake. there was no warning.
My car is doing exactly what the current recall is for, but the dealership said my car isn't under recall. i am having to press my brakes much harder in order for the braking to engage. i was driving to and from work and had to press my brakes all the way down before it would start to eventually slow down.
Received recall on abs system, valve sticking open. a couple of days later the car was in an accident, brakes locked up and abc did not seem to function. now brakes have a lot of travel and unsure if car is safe to drive. ford said they will not have the parts until end of first quarter. * (recall related incident) ts
Tl* the contact owns a 2009 ford fusion. the contact stated while reversing the vehicle out of a driveway the brake pedal was depressed and failed without warning. the vehicle was towed to lynch ford chevrolet inc.,410 us-30, mt vernon, ia 52314. the dealer refused to run a diagnostic test. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was filed. the failure mileage was 160,000.
Tl* the contact owns a 2009 ford fusion. the contact received a notification of nhtsa campaign number: 19v904000 (service brakes, hydraulic) however, the parts to do the recall repair was not yet available. the contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. neither the manufacturer nor the dealer were made aware of the issue. the contact had not experienced a failure. vin tool confirms parts not available.
My son was driving & preparing to stop at a stop sign. it was a road he was very familiar with. the brake pedal went to the floor. he attempted to slow the vehicle & turn the corner by swerving up an embankment slightly. he realized it wouldn't slow. he pumped the brakes several times with no brake response. he chose between a garage & a tree to stop the vehicle. he headed for the tree. in insurance investigation, brakes functioned normally. severe undercarriage damage had been repaired less than 2 weeks prior to the accident. police were called to accident scene & filed report. there were no skid marks at the scene. the speed was estimated at 35-40 mph - within/lower than speed limit. *ln *dl consumer states that the vehicle was totaled in the accident. insurance company is moving vehicle to a salvage pool. they conducted an investigation and looked at the abs/hcu and determined that the brakes did not cause failure. *dl
Received a recall notice for a problem i have had with my fusion (abs module valve stuck open) which means the brakes work and lockup only when pressed all the to the floor. went to 3 ford dealers and none will help because the recall has no "solution yet". one tech told me to deal with a bad brake pedal and don't drive fast. that's not safe for my wife or child in the vehicle. ford says parts may be available in the last part of the 2020 first quarter. the ford recall states "the vehicle is safe to drive" its not very safe when the brakes dont stop the vehicle.
Tl* the contact owns a 2009 ford fusion. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 19v904000 (service brakes, hydraulic). the contact stated while the driver was driving 2 mph, the brake pedal was depressed and went to the floorboard which caused the braking distance to be extended. the brake pedal was pumped several times to stop the vehicle. there were no warning lights illuminated. the vehicle was taken to independent mechanic and were unable to duplicate the failure. the contact stated that manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the manufacturer was contacted and a case was filed. the part was not available for the repair. parts distribution disconnect.
Was driving out of a parking lot and tried to brake. suddenly my brake light, abs light, and service advancetrac lights come on the dash. the pedal goes all the way to the floor and my car is not stopping. to avoid getting t boned i have to pull the emergency brake. brought the car to get fixed and my abs/ hcu unit failed. the cost to repair was crazy high. looked it up and ford is currently doing a recall for 2006-2010 ford fusions for the exact same reason my brakes failed. they are not including hybrids in this recall for some reason. i would highly encourage ford to include hybrids in the recall as clearly it doesn't matter if it is a hybrid or not. ford fusions from 2006-2010 are having this issue and it could have happened to me on the highway. would have been fatal at that point because with no brakes going 65 mph, not good!
Brake pedal goes to the floor, braking distance greatly increases, and the car is not safe to drive. this is the same problem identified in the 2006-2010 recall. please make ford expand the recall to include the 2011 ford fusion
