We have classified the 1 complaints from 2016 Ford Fusion about STRUCTURE into the following categories.
I am fortunate to have been stationary(the vehicle) at the time of the casualty to my 2016 ford fusion. i was stopped at a store and after i placed my things in the backseat, i went to close my rear driver side door and it would not close. this happened january 14th, 2020. i will mention that my 2016 ford fusion was purchased in september 2016 with only 17 miles on it, brand new at an overseas military vehicle dealership. my vehicle currently only has 18,000 miles on it. as i have no rope or ties in my vehicle, i was left with twisting my arm behind the driver seat and driving home(instead of my destination) with my arm painfully twisted around as to keep the door closed on the road to not hit another vehicle when i braked or turned. i would surmise this as a not positive experience in the pouring rain. ford has formally told me via their customer care line that my vehicle is not covered under any safety recalls. ford has stated my $2000 fordextracare 7 year/75,000 mile extended warranty additionally will not cover this casualty. i've found evidence online that ford issued recalls for 2013-2015 ford fusions for this exact problem. i am concerned as to why my safety concern and very real casualty to my vehicle was valid on this model of car a year prior to mine, but somehow is not now. can a ford vehicle with only 18k miles on it at 3 years old be reasonably expected to have the doors break in the open position? i'm being told that it is not a defect of the vehicle and i am to foot the bill for this casualty to the vehicle.
Drove to work one day in july 2019. got to work went to close driver door and it would not close. dove it home with a bungee cord holding the door closed. took it to dealership later that day and they replaced a latch at no cost to us because it was under extended warranty. now on august 24th 2019, my mom and daughter and i were shopping and we got to a store, my daughter got out of the rear passenger door and it wouldn't close just like the prior time. this time i am out of warranty so i have to pay approximately $500 to get it fixed and get a rental car so i can get back and forth to work. both times the vehicle was stopped in park but who knows what would have happened if we were in motion. we did nothing to the doors except open and close them which is what their purpose is! this is ridiculous and seems to be the same issue they have had on this same model from 2013-2015 from what i have read. please help get this issue taken care of. it is not safe and very expensive to fix.
Door latch does not work. rear passenger side. door opens during car operation.
Car started throwing me forward when u accelerated had a small fender bender .. it would have a hard kick as if someone hit me from behind . then it stop working wouldn't go into drive after it was in park it went in reverse almost hit someone behind me .. then ford roadside never showed up . ford lost my car no one could find it ... tow company never took it to the dealer and when i got there for my rental the upervisor laughed and dismissed my concerns even after i was in tears from the trama if the day and night prior. i was promised a rental so i could go to work and was denied it bc the car hadn't arrived . meanwhile roadside assistance couldn't find where my car was . online it said it was picked up and taken to dealer .. i was so frustrated and disappointed with the chaos . no one was helping to resolve the issue and i was late to work and my child's car seat was in the lost car . i was in tears and panic because of the stress of it all. i had to ask the gm at jim tidwell to help with a rental and was being charged 380$ for 1 day rental . i was still under warranty since car is new . i am so disappointed in the insensitive and dismissive behavior by all the men who i spoke to . it's been 3 weeks and i know nothing besides car finally arrive after being impounded in south atlanta. i do not feel safe in the car nor do u want to continue as a customer with ford.
On saturday mar 31,2018 on my way home from work i was going through a green light on a city street and hit a car that failed to stop. the front end of car hit the right side of the other car. none of my airbags deployed and my car has been totaled due to massive front end damage
I ran into a bird on the road. it caused the grill and pieces to break next to the radiator to break. it is going to cost a fortune. if i had my old car no damage would have happened. ford built them so cheap it caused a bunch of damage. the service department even said it was not solid. it is defective. ford should be responsible for building the car defectively that it would be totaled by a bird.
Was following a ford fusion in stop and go traffic last night on a rainy freeway. the led brake lights are so bright that with them on i lost my depth perception to the rear of the car. they are so bright they are almost blinding. maybe there should be a brightness limit?
Driving on a damp city road, applied brakes to stop, abs seemed to not function causing car to slide into the car ahead causing an accident. accident did not deploy airbags.
On november 25, 2016 at approximately 5:00 pm, my son opened the door with a defective child safety lock while the car was moving 65 mph on the highway in maryland. after we quickly pulled over, we were unable to close the door as there was a metal piece blocking the closing mechanism. we called emergency road side services at 5:20 pm and was told a tow truck would bring us another car with an eta of 8:27 pm. four calls were made up to 10:41pm to find out when the truck would arrive. we were consistently told there was a delay due to holiday traffic. the next morning at 8:03 am, another call was made to determine the status of the issue. we were told the fastest way to get a car would be to go to the local budget rental location but when we arrived we were told they could not give us a car because the computers were down. after multiple additional calls , the service promised to bring a car that afternoon. finally, 21 hours after the initial call, a replacement car was delivered and the ford fusion with the defective child safety lock was returned. this was not only a serious hazard for my family, we lost a day planned with family for the holiday. as a former business traveler of 11 years, this was the worst car rental experience and i would like a full refund for the time, distress, and frustration this caused myself and daily. i shudder to think of what could have happened on that highway and i suggest you add a more thorough safety inspection of vehicles prior to renting them to your customers. *tr

2016 ford fusion. consumer writes in regards to vehicle windshield and dashboard issues. *smd the consumer stated when the sun shined through the windshield onto the dashboard, it reflected a 'v" above the instrument panel on the dashboard. the edges of the "v" reflected onto the inside of the front windshield and interfered with the driver's vision. the center cut out in the center of the dashboard also reflected onto the inside of the windshield, but since it was centered it did not interfere with the driver's vision. the consumer believed the reflection on the driver's windshield was a design defect. if the "v" was not cut into the dashboard above the instrument panel, there would be no reflection. if the dashboard was anti-glare the problem would probably be solved. *jb
