Tl* the contact owns a 2016 ford fusion. the contact stated while driving 25 mph, the power steering assist warning light illuminated and the steering ceased. the contact stated that it was difficult to maneuver the vehicle. the vehicle was towed to hennessy ford lincoln atlanta located at 5675 peachtree industrial blvd, atlanta, ga 30341, (470) 602-2073, where it was diagnosed. the contact was informed that the steering rack and parking sensor needed to be replaced. the contact vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign number: 18v167000 (steering). the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not informed of failure. the failure mileage was 93,000.

This is the 4th time this issue has occurred. while driving, my ac kicks on with no warning and i loose all power to my car. it shuts down. this is extremely dangerous and i see several people complain about it and nothing has been done at this time. no resolution can be found for the problem. my car shuts off on its own and the only warning i get is knowing when my radio cuts out and my ac kicks on, get to the breakdown lane because my car is shutting down.75 mph on the busy highway.

Vehicle apim failed. this is considered to be the handsfree option for cell phone use, steering whell conttols, and cell blue tooth option.

2016 ford fusion making loud rattling noise from engine. no check engine light ever came on, but ford saying engine is catastrophic engine failure. connecting rod in piston broke loose. how does no check engine light ever come on? this could have killed me on the highway. how does a 3 year old car with 128,000 (mostly highway) miles go into catastrophic engine failure? car has been meticulously maintained.

My car will shut down and lose all power without notice when i'm at highway speeds. a comment comes on the dash that says something like " transmission is not in gear" or something like that. i'm not sure of the exact words because whenever it does it i'm looking to get to the far right lane so i can come to a complete stop on the side of the highway to come to a stop, put the car in park, turn it off then turn it back on. it's so dangerous to have the car lose all power going 70 mph. i really think something needs to be done on this before someone gets killed. this has happened probably 5 different times in the past few months. i don't have the exact dates when it's happened but the last time it did i was traveling in kansas city and thought i was going to cause a large accident trying to get my car over to the shoulder without power.

This is a recurring problem which has now happened 4 times. the entire electrical system goes down. the dash goes dark, the a/c does not work, the turn signals don't work, the doors and windows will not work and i cannot even get out of the car. it does not help to turn off and restart the car, everything will start working eventually on its own. i can steer and brake, but that is all. this last time i was on the interstate and was frightened that i would be hit before i could get on the shoulder. when i took it in, as usual, they could not find the problem. it was suggested that i contact ford for a replacement vehicle. they denied my request, saying i was outside the time period for filing. the case number is fma cas-22012807. i bought the car at raceway ford in hartsville, sc, where i resided, in march of 2016. i first had trouble with it in june, 2016 and took it in. the again in december, 2016 and january, 2018. i have since moved to des moines, ia and had the same problem again in july, 2019. the car has less then 19,000 miles and i feel very dangerous. in january, 2018 they told me that they replaced the entire computer system but the problem is still there. i hope there is something that the nhtsa can help with.

I was driving down the highway and my engine lost power. my car would not accelerate. i could not even go the speed limit. the dealer had to replace the throttle body. ford was changing these out through their own recall but that ended years ago. this problem is very popular over the ford models and could wind up killing somebody when the engine cuts out. ford is not standing behind the safety of their customers and i feel the nhtsa needs to step in and make this a mandatory recall. someone is going to die from this and it is all across all their makes.

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 ford fusion. after leaving the office and walking to the vehicle, the contact heard music playing in the vehicle even though the keys were on her person and the vehicle was still locked. additionally, on occasion, the air conditioner, lighting, and radio would activate independently with the ignition in the off position and the doors locked. the vehicle was taken to koons ford of baltimore (located at 6970 security blvd, windsor mill, md 21244, (410) 298-3800) where it was diagnosed that the battery needed to be replaced due to severe battery drainage. also, the water pump needed to be replaced. the battery and water pump were replaced, and the power train control module was updated; however, the failures recurred. the manufacturer was notified of the failures. the approximate failure mileage was 69,084. the vin was not available.

I was parking backing up when the horn went on the first time. i thought that i might have touched the horn sign accidentally. driving away from work the same problem happened again the same day, horn went on blaring loud again but this time hands was well positioned on the wheel. when making turn left or right horn would sound out loud again. when car is parked outside and the temperature is high horn would sound on and off. it happened also while car was in motion in the traffic blaring so loud on and off to cause fear and anxiety. the horn would go on and off even park in the driveway at night and during the day causing nuisance in community. took car to the dealership at the services department after hearing the horn loud blaring(sd) decided to disable it until they checked the problem. the diagnostic reveled a faulty electrical wiring affecting the ignition and air bag. been having this issue two weeks before memorial weekend may 2019, issue occurring up to this moment.

Within the past 4 months, as of today, april 08,2019, i have found all my windows down on my vehicle when parked. it has happened twice at work, once at home, and once at shopping mall. on today, april 08,2019 i entered work at 5:45am(light rain). at 9:30am, i exited my work area to go to another building, and found all four(4)of my windows down and it was pouring down raining. my vehicle was also full of household items purchased. i would like to know if this problem has been reported by any other owners of this car. i thank you for taking the time to read my complaint and look forward to a response.

Transmission slipping despite car only being 2 years old. it has also had electrical issues. must replace entire transmission

Ford fusion recall: driving on the way home from the store and my check engine light came on along with a wrench symbol and a note on my dash to see manual while i was making a right turn i to my apartment complex. i took it to auto zone and they started it was the throttle body and it needed to be replaced, i took it to ford after where they said it was covered and to bring it in on the 6th of feb to have it fix. but then was told after they confirmed it was the throttle body that it was not covered. i only had the car 2 years and its problem after problem which nothing is covered under the warranty that i'm paying for.

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 ford fusion. while in reverse, the back-up camera would not display an image. when the transmission was in the drive position, the back-up camera erroneously displayed. the cause of the failure was not determined. the local dealer (kerry ford, 155 w. kemper rd, cincinnati, oh) and the manufacturer were notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 11,000.

Vehicle in motion. after 40mph, service advancetrac lights on dash. abs is activated even though on dry ground. brake pedal becomes hard and drops about 50%. stopping distance dramatically increased. pedal pulsates under my foot. traction control turned off. hill assist turned off. this continues to happen every time i drive the car since mid november, 2018. the defective part is the tone ring, which is part of the wheel bearing and is very expensive to repair. ford will do nothing about it even though there is no problem at all with the tone ring. the electrical problem is the harness that the wheel speed sensor plugs into on the left front wheel. the yellow wire has a hole in it and corrodes. ford is also aware of this problem but refuses to do anything about it.

I was driving on the highway and the main screen in the center of the dashboard turned off and had the message 'turning off system to save battery'. this was not an accurate projection by the car system being that i just recently installed a brand new battery a couple of days prior. as the car system continued to shut down, the alert of 'system charging service now' showed up on the dash. following that message the power steering completely shut down. shortly there after, the entire electrical system shut down in my car. lights, steering, dashboard, electronic seats, doors, gear shift, everything! this all happened in the span of 1 minute or so on a highway at 11pm at night. i almost got into an inescapable acccident trying to find somewhere to get the car off the highway. shortly there after the engine also cut off due to not getting any power from the car system. this is very unfortunate because this car is only 2 years old and i bought the car brand new off the lot.

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 ford fusion. the contact stated that the vehicle had stalled several times with no warning. in addition, the vehicle had been extremely difficult to start after refueling. there was an engine warning light that had flashed intermittently as the failure progressed. the vehicle was not inspected and diagnosed by a dealer yet but hennessy ford lincoln atlanta (5675 peachtree industrial blvd, atlanta, ga 30341, 1-(770) 621-0200) was notified of the failure. the vehicle was not included in an unknown electrical system recall campaign from the manufacturer however, the vehicle exhibited the same failure as the recall. the manufacturer had issued 25 tsb on electrical and 16 tsb on the engine and engine cooling however, there was no recall open for the vehicle. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided no assistance other than the contact having the dealer diagnose and repair the vehicle. the vin was not available. the approximate failure mileage was not available.

When i started the car multiple alarms sounded and the display showed the following errors: steering assist fault service required, service advancetrac, pre-collission assist not available, hill start assist not available. the car has 13514.1 miles on the odometer at the time of this occurrence. the car had been driven less than 10 miles earlier in the day but had been parked with the engine off for nearly 8 hours. i did not attempt to drive the vehicle due to the difficult, if not impossible, chore of turning the steering wheel. i shut the vehicle off and restarted it several times attempting to see if the faults would clear on their own. no luck.

Takata recall. sync system quits working, tries to restart but doesn't. rear back-up camera is inoperable with this condition as well as any entertainment (radio, cd, sirius, etc.) & navigation. upon search of internet it is a wide spread issue they are aware of and making consumers pay for known widespread issue.

Engine loses engine power when driving. pressing the accelerator pedal does nothing. must coast or brake until the car stops. power steering, braking, and climate control systems remain functional; radio remains on; turn signals did not work. 'trans not in park' message appears on the display. event has occurred three times when driving at highway speeds. cruise control was on and set during at least two times out of the three events. car may be restarted after coming to a stop, shifting into park and turning key to off. appears to 'reset' to work correctly until the next unexpected event occurs. check engine light does not come on. chime occurs after the loss of engine power. the car does not shake during or before event. have not experienced any harsh or delayed shifting when starting from stop or after slowing and trying to accelerate. three identical instances have occurred since driving this car. in one of the three instances, the key was bumped with a knee. present milage is about 48000. car was obtained in 12/2016. local ford dealer states that there are no recalls or services outstanding for this vehicle; did not know of any reported problems like this. on may 15, 2018 wes myers at bob sight ford in lee's summit, missouri checked two other fusions and noted that this same problem will occur if the key is barely rotated back - not so much as to think it should turn off the engine. as such, he did not find anything 'wrong' since other vehicles exhibit the same problem; replacing the ignition switch with another that has the same problem would not provide a fix. also stated that unless the car was still under the bumper to bumper warranty, that ford would not take any action. the vehicle leasing company (enterprise) has not issued any notices stating this is a known issue with the vehicle. nhtsa 9/19/2016, blacklick, oh, is similar issue.

The 12-volt battery on the energi model will not hold a charge. repeated jump starts are required. despite being under warranty, 2 ford dealers claimed they don't know the source of the problem and refused to replace the battery. no wonder ford dropped this model. it is a disaster that ford refuses to acknowledge.

While driving my car on a city street my husband was in the passenger seat, and my son was sitting in the back seat. my husband got warm, and pushed the automatic button to roll down his window. i instantly thought this was odd since i always keep the window's locked so that my son can not play with the windows. i checked, and found that the light was on indicating that the lock was active. i then pulled over, and rolled up his window, unlocked the window, re-locked it, and had him do it again. while the car was running i had the thought to check the door locks as well. he was also able to open his door after pressing the lock button!

I was driving down a busy city road with my 4 year old in the backseat. they then opened the door while i was driving. this scared me as my car is set to lock automatically while driving. i quickly pulled over, shut the door, got in, and re-locked the door. once the door was re-locked i climbed into the backseat with the car still running and was able to open the door again. i then exited the open door, and was able to open the "locked" drivers door, and get back in. i then locked the doors again, and tried opening the drivers door, and it opened. i shut my car off, turned it back on, locked my doors, tried opening the door, and it was locked. this is not safe for my child! i have read of similar complaints from others with the same make and model, and thought that this should be documented with nhtsa.

The heating will only work for the first 10 minutes of the drive. then the computer system freezes and the heat shuts off. the radio will turn on to full volume and you can't turn off the radio, or turn down the volume. the heat will not turn back on and all the computer functions stop working. the dealership said they don't know what is wrong and they want to charge me $5000 to start to fix the problem.

This vehicle has had a dead battery 3 times after sitting overnight. no extra power draws we added. the last resulted with the engine light on once it was jump started. the engine code that was on was a p068a ecm/pcm power relay de-energized performance - too early. this vehicle has already been brought into the dealership where they performed a battery test and reprogrammed the modules. this was less than 1 month till it happened again

This vehicle has had a dead battery 2 times after sitting overnight. no extra power draws we added. the last resulted with the engine light on once it was jump started. the engine code that was on was a p068a ecm/pcm power relay de-energized performance. it will be scheduled to go to the dealership to try to resolve this issue

Ford sync system. since the date of purchase the sync system will not work. it is constantly loosing hands free devices and not recognizing any voice commands. i have called ford customer care, had the dealership try and fix the problem numerous times, called sync and have been hold to do a master rest and to take the battery cables off. i'm having to do this every day. i have an extended warranty however it's costing me $50.00 to have it reprogrammed please help with this so other ford customers don't experience the same issue

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 ford fusion. the contact stated that there was an abnormal clicking sound, the wrench icon and check engine indicators illuminated, the vehicle lost power, and the vehicle stalled. richmond ford lincoln (4600 w broad st, richmond, va 23230, (804) 358-5521) was notified shortly after the purchase of the vehicle, but they could not duplicate the failure or determine the cause. the last time the vehicle stalled, an off duty officer had to assist with maneuvering the vehicle off the road with a disabled passenger and child passengers in the vehicle. the vehicle was not repaired. the vin and failure mileage were not available.

While i was driving 70 mph on the interstate my 2016 fusion with on 8000 miles on shut down like i was out of gas. all my dash lights came on telling me to check manual and my check engine. was able to get over some one to put my car on a machine to tell me what was wrong with it. an error code of p2111 came up saying my throttle was open. new car i'm the only owner i don't understand why this is. as i'm looking up information about the throttle i can see they've had recalls on this part before. my air bag light in everything came on seat belt unlocked. *tr

I was driving my 2016 ford fusion on the highway going approximately 70-75 mph. i suddenly lost all power and the car would not accelerate. i was luckily able to get to the shoulder. the orange wrench light was on, the instrument panel said see owners manual and the car was shuddering and shaking. it was late at night in a very remote area. i turned the car off and was able to restart it and get to my destination. the next day the same thing happened. driving on very remote highway going approx 75 and car loses all power and dies. this time there was a truck behind me and he had to swerve into the oncoming lane to avoid rear ending me. i was able to get over but not out of my lane. car was shuddering again, warning lights on instrument panel. car started after 2 tries. i had to have my husband drive 7 hours to get me and put the car up on a rented uhaul car transport and drive 7 hrs back home to the dealership. they said the electronic throttle body failed. this is a known problem. very very dangerous situation, and very scary. i called ford and they are aware of this problem but have not notified owners yet.

Went to go to lunch today and cranked the car up and it started and no lights came on or radio. started to back out and there was no steering. turned off the car and restarted it and the radio and lights came on but servicetrac light still was on dash. called ford and they said it was a steering fault but to still drive it and bring it in on wednesday that it was safe to drive. um i am not an idiot but that does not seem safe to drive if the steering goes out. light went off after i left work and all is working for now.

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 ford fusion. when the contact activated the driver side window, his arm became caught up and difficult to remove from the window. the contact stated that the feature was a safety hazard for children. when the window control was activated and released, the window continued to rise. the manufacturer was not notified. the vin was unknown. the approximate failure mileage was 2,500.

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 ford fusion. the contact stated that almost every two to three days, the battery failed to keep its charge. the failure recurred on seven occasions. the dealer was unable to retrieve a fault code. the battery was recharged on several occasions; however, the failure recurred after two to three days. the manufacturer was notified of the failures. the approximate failure mileage was 7. the vin was not available.

While entering the freeway my car loss power and began to quickly decelerate. thankfully i was able to move to the shoulder before the car that i was pulling in front of had to take action to keep from hitting me. the check engine light and wrench icon appeared after the incident happened. the ford dealership informed me that the electronic throttle body failed and needed to be replaced.

Rented a ford fusion with 3000 miles. during highway driving it lost power and stopped. after a minute, we restarted it without problem. drove it to a nearby ford dealer who checked the code which indicated the problem was defective electronics that controlled the throttle. apparently the engine was getting too much air and not enough gas causing it to shut down. perhaps this was a problem specific to this car, perhaps not. because of the potential for serious consequences of a car stopping unexpectadly on a highway we thought we should report it. we did notify the rental company (budget in milwauke wi) of the problem. the employee said he had heard of this problem before. it was not clear to us if he meant on cars in general or on this type of car.

Lost all power to the vehicle while going 45 to 50 mph. terrible situation to be in and would not want this to happen to others. ford knows this is an issue and needs to deal with it better

Inserting key into ignition fuel pump would kick on occasionally, the doors wouldn't always unlock upon shutting car off, dash and radio delayed coming on at times upon starting, unlocking doors with key fob there would be static coming from back speakers, keyless entry would unlock but not always relock, a few times the key wouldn't start car there would be no reaction at turning over, dash would light up at times when no key was in ignition and car locked, heater would blow hot air then turn to cold as if a/c was on, one day battery was dead and had to jump it nothing was left on and car was locked.

As skimming through other complaints, i see i wasn't the only one with a bad throttle body issue ! my infant was in the car with me and luckily my boyfriend was in front of me! it died 3 times on the highway before we got to the next town to his work - luckily he also had the infant car seat ! i had to have it towed and borrow his 2010 fusion for 2 days until my car was fixed. another annoying issue is whenever my ipone has an update i have to take it to the dealership to have sync reinstalled ! i bought the car because of the sync (upgraded from a g6 with no extra options). i travel 30,000+ miles a year and expect a new car to work - if i wanted a terrible car i would have gotten another gm vehicle...

Abs lights, traction control lights, throttle body control lights, air bag lights, emergency break lights, rear right break lights all come on my dash, it is at random times, first starting the car up, driving it for 2 minutes or even up to 10-12 minutes. speed, weather or making a turn or just going straight does not matter. warning lights can go off every day multiple times or as lttle as once a week. you can feel the streeting get very tight, its hard to even make a turn which is not very safe. had my vehilce in the shop for 25 days straight. was told the issues were fixed and withint 7 hours of picking my car up all the same lights came on.

2016 ford fusion received from dealer on dec 2015. at 39 miles on the odometer, fusion would not start, and all alarms came on (low tire pressure, engine overheat, parking brake, parking sensors, etc). car started after hitting ok and several more cranks. feb 2015 - at about 2500 miles, the car would not start for the second time, and the third time was at 3000 miles, all with the same exact alarm behavior. the fourth time occurred on march 7, 2016 with 3200 miles on odometer; the car died in the middle of the highway and while going 45mph in rush hour traffic. there was no engine power, no steering power, no power brakes, nothing but alarms. i was fortunate to not be in an accident. the ford dealership has taken the car in twice with absolutely no repairs and no reported diagnostic codes. ford has experienced the same intermittent starting issues with the car in their possession, but they refused to conduct long-term diagnosis because they simply were not able to isolate the problem. this is the third time it's going into the dealer and now it's a safety issue because the car loses power while in operation.

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 ford fusion. the contact stated that the instrument panel failed. the failure was intermittent. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where the instrument cluster was replaced; however, the failure recurred. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 50.
