Twice in the last 2 week my emergency brake has engaged will i was drivng down the highway. a warning light came on tell my there was a fault with my brakes . so i pull off the high and pulled the lever up then push it down then pulled it up . i did that 3 times to make sure it was not on
I called ford before and the guy on the phone said that the recall was vin specific and my vin had not been included. although, the same issues they are saying is happening is happening with my car right now. i put it in park it drives, i do use my emergency brake at all times now, i put it in reverse it goes forward, i put it in neutral it reverses; if there were an emergency currently i am not able to hit the gas and reverse and the brakes seem to shudder when stopping. i have had to finagle my way since this started happening until it's my turn to get my car serviced by ford for a recall. and this will be the second appointment since it was repaired for recalls earlier on in the year.
While i started reversing towards my driveway entrance my vehicle got completely paralyzed as i changed gears from drive to reverse, my steering wheel, brakes and shift gear stoped responding, i managed to carefully move my car to a safety location but i was in a dangerous situation when i had to let my car slide down the road of my house in order to let the traffic (i had unintentionally caused) carry on. i then, put my cars emergency brake on and called my mechanic. luckily for me, this all happen infront of my house, actually, after the 2 hour drive i had finished coming from, my concerns are what if this incident would have happen outside of my town, or in the highway, my safety and even my own life was on the line for a few minutes, i can only be lucky for so long. a couple days after, i came to find out i did not have one recall incomplete but 3!, even more shocking, i did not receive notices for any of the 3 recalls from my cars dealership. i went to them immediately and now am waiting for them to call me back to schedule an appointment i been trying to make already for the past week but till today, i have yet not received a date.
Brakes are sliding, the panel lights turning on the transmission locking
When in reverse while moving the steering wheel went into locked position and brake pedal could not be applied (in driveway) restarted vehicle in hopes of a reset only this time when put in reverse warning light came on and said transmission was in park not able to move previously car overheated in 96 feet from a cold start (driveway) also 3 other times had a power assist failure (highway in motion) the vehicle has been in the dealership for each issue and they have found nothing
I had just left the gym and was heading home. i had just resumed driving after after being stopped at a red light, when the vehicle in front of me stopped suddenly. when i hit my brakes, it felt as if my aba was engaging, but instead i heard a pop and my brake pedal went all the way to the floor. i had to hit my brake again to stop my vehicle. the road was clear of any sand or gravel, the weather was clear and it was 27 degrease. my speed was approximately between 12-20, due to the fact stated above. i continued home but my brake pedal kept dropping to the floor and i had to hit the brake again to stop. i drove home very slowly with my hazard lights on. after arriving home i turned off the vehicle and went inside. i waited a few minutes and returned to my car. i placed my foot on the brake and again the pedal went all the way to the floor. i pumped the brakes a couple of times and the pedal would drop back down to the floor. i now have no brakes. not one sensor came on to warn me that i had a possible issue with my brakes. needless-to-say, this was a very scary experience.
Random failure of left front brake hose from body line to brake caliper. vehicle had only 66,214 miles on odometer. hose failed with zero warning during normal brake usage while driving in straight line resulting in almost no braking power. zero signs of physical damage to hose. contacted dealer. dealer indicated that original factory p\n was obsoleted and a new p\n was being issued. decided to replace all (4) brake hoses for fear of another failure. i have retained the factory parts that were replaced.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford fusion. while the vehicle was parked on an incline, it inadvertently started to roll away. the contact had to forcefully depress the brake pedal, but it failed to stop the vehicle. the emergency brake had to be engaged in order to stop the vehicle. the contact stated that multiple unknown warning indicators illuminated. the vehicle was towed to franklin park lincoln, inc. (5272 monroe st, toledo, oh 43623, (419) 882-7171) where it was diagnosed, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified. the failure mileage was 65,000. the vin was not available.
Poorly designed seal around back-up camera housing allows moisture into housing, sends faulty signal to engine when vehicle is started and shifted to reverse ultimately shutting down the engine. this does not happen 100% of time, but it is concerning. usually occurs during/after rain, snow, or high humidity days. this design flaw also disables the brakes, emergency brake, and power steering. vehicle does not turn on right away and starter continuously clicks until vehicle computer responds to start, key faub is the only way i have been able to start the vehicle after this event occurs. sometimes the computer gets so jammed up that i must completely disconnect the battery and hard restart the computer. when the issue occurs the vehicle cannot be stopped and will continuously move backwards until it stops on its own, it hits something, or the vehicle can be started again. this did happen to me while i was parked on a slight incline and my car stopped after it rolled in to a parked car, luckily no damage occured. as someone who used to be an airbag design engineer i definitely believe this to be a safety issue. a mechanic at the ford dealership i bought the vehicle from informed me that this issue is known to ford(he found the information on how to diagnose, repair, and what parts to buy in the repair database) and i called ford to confirm that they do know this issue. ford informed me that they do know of the issue, but it is not a safety concern. this issue costs over $800 to fix at a dealership. my extended warrenty won't cover the cost of the repair because it is considered "water damage"
Rear brakes need replacement at only 22,500 miles. although having been the subject of an owner complaint during the warranty period, the dealer refuses to take any positive action and states they are a consumable item.
Premature and sudden rear break failure of both passenger and driver side: since purchase car showed moderate vibration upon heavy breaking but appeared to function normally prior to total rear brake failure. a sudden screeching noise showed up comping from the rear of the vehicle along with a noticeable loss of breaking power. upon immediate visual inspection the rear break pads were completely worn with only 18,983 miles since purchased in 2014. the worn pads showed to cause immediate and significant damage to the break discs. premature wear and damage to the discs were not covered by the vehicle's warranty as the vehicle exceeded it for 4 months or any current recall.
My 2013 ford fusion has21,000 miles on it and the ford people tell me it needs rear brakes i have a2009 same model that i had brakes replaced at 60,000 when i ask the ford people why i get no answer . i think they have a safety problem with the brake pads .can you help me.?
I have had my ford fusion for 6 months. over the last 2 months i have had issues with braking. the brakes fail for a split second just before coming to a complete stop to add to that it sometimes decides to surge and lurches forward just before it stops. it has been in and out of the ford dealer for repair, the first few times i was told nothing was wrong. the last time, they decide to replace the throttle bottle and a module. for a few days the car seemed to be doing better until today when pulling into my driveway. as i was stopping to park, the car lurched forward into a pile of wood. if this had been at an intersection or someone crossing in front of me this could have been fatal. i am now scared to drive the car at all! let alone let my teen drive behind the wheel. i am out of options! i cannot refinance another car.
Wear or corrosion on the front speed sensor hardness led to the disabling of all traction/stability control, rear park assist, abs and airbag operation.
I have a recall on my car to replace the transmition cable. i had this same problem back in 2016. i knew back then that this was a big issue and that it was a defective recall issue and i paid $571.25 to fix a tranmission shifter cable. i still have the receipt and all the notes that the dealership wrote and it matches this recall. i filed acomplaint with nhtsa and no action taken back then and i feel since this is a recall that i should have never paid out of pocket for this recall and i feel i should get a refund from ford. i almost died when i lost control of my gear shift and i had my children in the car when i lost control of my 2013 ford fusion on 9/16/16. i could not get my car gear to shift at all and it was moving by itself. if it wasnt for the emergency brake me and my two children would have crashed and got injured or imjury someone else. i have all my paperwork and would like to speak with someone from i knew back then that this was a manufacturer/defective in 2016, and received a letter dated aug 2018 that there is a recall that i paid full price to repair and filed a complaint with nhtsa about it, but no action was taken back then. i would like to fule a complaint.
My abs keep coming on it gives three warning. check advance traction, no hill side start. it clear once light go off. the brake thump. their is a spring noise the steering become bind up. this happen after the car moves any distance when it is decide to.
Rear brake pads and rotors need replaced at only 37,000 miles.
The brakes on my 2013 ford fusion titanium had been improperly "pulsing" for some time. brought car to my mechanic to check brakes ~7/31/15. he found that rear calipers, pads and rotors were essentially totally worn while front brakes were fine and showed minimal wear. had to have rear calipers, pads and rotors completely replaced. mechanic said this sort of brake wear is not normal for a vehicle with ~26,000 miles on it. in fact, in his experience the front brakes usually go before the rear brakes...updated 11/02/15 *bf updated 01/08/2016*js *cn
Today my brake pedal went down to the floor . when i started my vehicle . the abs light came on. no hill side start.. service advance traction. i have replaced all . brake pads, shocks ,and had rotor worked on. abs has gotten worst. i took my car to the nearest ford shop. i asked them to check it out and replace my abs sensor.
This is a case of multiple incidents, first incident with significant issue was on 12/11/2014. as i was pulling out of my driveway and reversing across two lanes of traffic, my car turned off and said "press brake to start" (i have the push-start-ignition). the car turned off as i was revering across the street, i had to put the car in park in order to restart the car. i restarted the car and drove it to the dealership, which they have never heard of this issue and said they could not get me in for an appointment until 12/15. on 12/14/2014, as i was driving down the road at ~25mph, my car started to act like it was going to quit, before i could pull off to the side of the road, the car turned off and said "press brake to start" i was able to get the car to the side of the road, as i did i put the car in park and tried to restart the car and it just kept rolling over and i had to push the start button to get it to stop, as i did, the brakes and steering wheel locked and i had to have the car towed to the dealership. the dealership had the car for 3 days, could not find an issue. i filed a complaint with ford and they have closed my case saying there is not an issue. it is now at a 2nd dealership where they can not find an issue. i have been told by ford to continue driving my car until the issue happens again, which is a major concern for my personal and others safety as i am driving down the road. when the car quits, i have hardly any control over the vehicle and luckily i have been going at slow pace, but i do not feel safe driving this car and feel like ford has given up on me. this car has been nothing but problems since i've had it with 9 recalls and now this issue, i am concerned that i am not the only person having this issue and would like to have the problem addressed before someone is in a serious accident. *js updated 2/11/16 *js
I was involved in a motor vehicle accident, in which i was first hit by another car and then collided with a lamp post. the initial blow rendered my vehicle without brake power and the airbags did not deploy. i was wearing a seatbelt. my car headed toward the street lamp. i tried to press my brake, but it would not work. i turned my steering wheel to the left to avoid a head-on with the light post. unfortunately, i hit the post and it broke (later a policeman pushed it over and it fell to the ground). the car finally stopped at about 200 feet away from the site of the accident, as i drove it onto the median strip. my car was damaged on the left and right front lower area and the right tire was pushed way back. the sway bar and knuckle broke, among other things. the right front door was unable to open. after all these repairs were done, they couldn't start the car because the crankshaft sensor also had to be replaced. in total, these repairs took more than two months to complete. i spoke to the regional manager of ford motor company to see if they wanted to investigate this particular car, as it operated poorly during the accident. they were not interested, and said to allow geico to handle things and have geico call them if they found anything amiss. my back was injured and i cannot safely lift more than 5 lbs at a time. my neurosurgeon advised that i have surgery soon, otherwise i risk becoming paralyzed from the waist down. i have a thumb injury and the accident also re-activated an old concussion. my nose must have hit the steering wheel, as it was sore for a week. i can walk around and function right now, i just can't lift anything. my car is ready in the shop, but i am afraid to drive it, and i have five years of payments left on it. i never would have hit the lamp post if my brakes had worked, and my airbags did not deploy for either impact. *tr
I own a 2013 ford fusion, i have had a very serious mechanical malfunction over the past 3 weeks. the vehicle will completely shut down while operating the vehicle causing the steering wheel to lock, brakes not to work, emergency brake not work and finally the air bags do not deploy. i have taken the vehicle back to the dealership where i purchased it from on 2 occasions. the first time was march 28th and after having the car for 7 hours i was told that they didn?t have time to look at it and that i should bring it back next week. i asked them what i was supposed to do if it happened again and i was told ?keep trying to restart the car? and bring it back next week. the week of the 31st thru the 4th i had two more occasions where the car shut down. i took the car in on april 4th and was told that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. i asked for a rental or a loaner car and was told that they didn?t have any. i didn?t drive the car that weekend because i didn?t feel safe putting my family in it. on april 7th i was driving home from work when the car shut down and as a result i went through a 6 foot tall stone wall that was reinforced by rebar. i was luckily not injured, i hit the wall between 20-25 mph and had no airbag deployment. i have talked to the dealership where i purchased the car and was told that this is something that ford motor company takes care off. i have contacted ford and spoke with divana in the legal department and was told that this is a product liability with the car. this was on april 8th . on april 11th i was contacted by ford and told that there is nothing that they can do and that i should call them back if it happens again. i posed the question if i were driving at 75 mph a hit a 18 wheeler what was i supposed to do. i guess they wouldn?t have to worry about a complaint. *js
The moon roof window opened with out any button being pressed. storm rain was starting. there was a lot of auto traffic. i was driving , my wife was sitting next to me and there was a car coming out of a parking lot to the left of me and perpendicular to my car :what happened next simultaneously was: a. auto went into "collision avoidance mode"; windshield several red led warning lights began blinking, and alert noise from auto started , and steering wheel shuttered. the later two actions are not terribly clear to me b my wife started to shout for me to watchout. c i started to press on brakes. thus avoiding a collision between my car and car to be moving across my path i was told that the car does not stop in any type of collision mode. it just slows down. i did not know whether this avoidance mode was present (at the slow speed i was going in. i did know that when the car was in cruise control and this mode was activated and that avoidance reactions were activated. . i am very concerned that this may happen again. with serious consequences occurring. *tr
