Power steering recall: power steering failed to work while driving and the power steering light came on. took the vehicle into a ford shop and was informed that the electronic steering rack was faulty. this is the same issue that ford recalled other 2011 ford fusions for but for some reason this vin is not included in the recall.
Takata recall & steering failure i have a 2011 ford fusion on which the steering suddenly failed, without any warning, while driving. thankfully the failure occurred close to our home and my wife was able to make it home without incident. i've been doing research online and learned that this is a common problem. while ford has issued a recall for some later models, they are not covering all viechles with the same part. i am contacting you to raise awareness that the problem still exists and is still impacting people. i have owned many cars that are much older and have never had a complete steering loss. i also want to let you know that we are still waiting for resolution of the takata airbag recall. the recall was issued by ford in july of 2016. we have continued to drive the car with the promise by ford that the car is safe, however, as i continue to read about incidents online, realize that may not be the case. after all, if it were safe there wouldn't have been a recall. my wife has gotten to the point where she doesn't want to drive the car for concerns for her safety. i feel this is unacceptable and am asking for your help to hold ford accountable to: 1.accept responsibility for the steering issue and the risk it posses and extend the racall to all affected viechles 2.expedite the repair on the airbag recall thank you!
Takata recall this is the 3rd time my power steering went out the first time they reset it then the 2nd time they put it on the machine they told me what i need to fix and now they don't want to fix it
Takata recall i need an airbag replaced due to recall. i also need the throttle body replaced due to recall

Power steering sensor fault while driving.
While i was driving on a highway , i heard some bell noise coming from the dashboard and glanced down to see the following message "power steering assist fault". i also noticed that the steering was no longer "power steering". i slowed down and put my flashers on and slowly drove home. while at home, i researched and found that ford had a recall back in 2015 (15s18) for this same year car for the same problem. for some reason, my vin was not part of the recall even though my car was manufactured at the same facility and within 30 days prior to the beginning recall date.
I had two incidents with power steering . both times, after starting the vehicle the steering wheel was locked up and there was message on the screen that stated assualt on power steering. after restarting the car the steering wheel worked and the message on the screen disappeared. both times the car was parked in parking lot.
On around 11/10/17 steering became to heard to control while driving. took it to dealer and they performed a recall. they replaced steering gear assembly. about 4 months after that same problem occurred at around 3,000 miles. took it back on 7/09/18 to the dealership and was told that the part they replaced shorted out and that because it was too long from the time they replaced it, they couldn't do anything about it, instead they wanted for me to pay close to $4,000 for repairs. my car stood parked for 4 months before i took it because i couldn't drive it and did not have money for a tow truck to take it to dealership. i don't understand how a recalled part that was fixed only lasted 3,000 and has no warranty.
Was told over a year ago that the parts are not avaialbe and each time i bring it in for service i ask about the air bag recall and they keep telling me not avaiable

The power steering went out and now we have to replace the steering gear at our own expense. this car part of a june 2015 recall # 15s18 for the electric power assist system for this exact problem which the local dealership supposedly fixed but ford now refuses to pay for the fix!
The power steering went out. got a 'service power steering' warning on dashboard, also 'service advancetrac' warning. turned car off, then back on, still a problem. disconnected and reconnected battery, still a problem. this happened while driving on the highway. i had my 5 year old in the car going for ice cream. steering seemed to work ok until i got to the drive thru at dairy queen. after ordering, making the turn around the building the power steering was gone. had to wrench the steering wheel to get into a parking spot.
Service trac off power steering off recall number 15 s 18 my vin number was not included in this recall even though this is the problem i am currently having was involved in a car accident because of it on the 25th of october 2017
I was driving from jasper, tx to georgetown, tx. when the service power steering now light came on. there were also two other warnings that came on including remove all items from front passenger's seat, but i don't remember the other. i tried to return to jasper but the car became too hard to steer and i stopped in bryan, tx. i believe there was a previous recall on this car but at the time my car was disabled for other reasons. i called ford about this problem and they said they would call my dealership, but the dealer indicated that they had never been called. i am currently at a hotel in bryan without my brother's or my own medication. i cannot contact ford until tomorrow which will mean two days without medication. this is an emergency situation. please help.

Driving on interstate at 70mph when power steering service light came on. as exited first available off ramp onto state highway, steering became increasingly more difficult to the point of being unable to make first two desired turns off state highway. prior occurrence 08/22/2017 resulting in ford service department replaced steering rack assembly and set toe adjustment. when car was returned from ford service department, pulled left and steering wheel off center. car was returned to ford service department who stated nothing wrong with power steering, issue was because tires need rotated. car returned and driven until this occurrence. ford service department states no issue with power steering and is again blaming tires, however last service receipt reports "gtire tires checked good at this time."
The car often loses power steering. sometimes when first starting the vehicle and putting it in gear. sometimes when driving. sometimes when turning. it asks for a date so i picked a single incident, but to date it has happened more than 12 times starting around 60,000 miles if i remember correctly.

Ford has recall on 2011 ford fusion 2011 ford fusion steering:electric power assist system nhtsa campaign #15v340000 but has limitations on mileage will not cover my vehicle due to being over mileage. the steering has locked up on more than one occasion and several of those have almost caused an accident. called ford and they will not fix that i could pay to have fixed and only then would they warranty the power steering and then it would only be for 3 years. when this is happening you lose total control of steering, the steering wheel locks up and you have to turn vehicle completely off and restart before you can even move the steering wheel. it has happened at speed from 5mph all the way up to 30 mph and it has happened while backing out of parking space to pulling out of parking space and while going down road in curves. after i talked to ford representing and he told me it would not be fixed under the recall i knew this needed reported for when i'm out there on the road it's not only my life involved but possibly others if it should happen when other vehicles are around.
While driving the dash had a power steering assist fault in amber on dash and i had no power steering. i got car stopped, cut car off and started car and the message was gone. this has happened on several occasions. the other day when i started the car the message popped back up. i tried to turn steering wheel but it was very difficult. i cut car off and re-started and fault was gone. i see that this is a problem that tons of cars are having. some have recalls while others don't but they should all be recalled. i have a daughter driving this car and it scares me for her to drive it. i believe their is enough complaints being filed that it justifies a recall to fix all the cars. the last time this happened was 09 sep 17. it has happened about a dozen times. it has been going on over a year....
My car is airbag light doesn't come on.

I am writing to you in hopes that you can help me. i am very disappointed . i am the owner of a 2011 ford fusion s which i bought new in 2010. my vin is [xxx]. i have been a loyal ford owner for decades. yesterday (tuesday august 15, 2016) i was backing out of my driveway and experienced a sudden loss of my power steering. i brought my car to my local mechanic thinking it was a belt or something only to find out that my car has something called an electronic rack and pinion. furthermore i was told that ford fusions have a recall history regarding this very issue ?electronic power assist system?. i obtained a copy of the recall and called my dealer (stoneham ford in stoneham, ma) who told me that the recall was vin specific and that even though my car was the exact year, make and model affected i was not be covered due to the vin number. i was further told that this repair could top $2,000.00 parts and labor. i am devastated. the problem i have is the exact same issue as noted in the ford recall 15s18 but am being bypassed due to a vin number???? i am requesting your assistance in looking into this matter. your assistance is greatly appreciated. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

Ford issued a recall on the power steering assist on my car. i took the car for servicing to ford. i was informed that the repair would not be made unless the steering went out. also, i was told the steering system had to fail before 160,000 miles. later the power steering fault light came on at 161,000 miles. wow!. unacceptable that ford will not repair this vehicle under the recall notice.
The power steering stopped working 3 time within 3 month period. the car is always stationary when it happens. when i shut the car off and restarted it the power steering came back on. this time the power steering has been off for 7 days. it always has the power steering failure assist sign and the hazard car sign on. i took it to the dealer where i brought it and their machine said code u-3000-96 control module internal fail. they recommended i take it to the ford co. i also called the ford manufacture 1-800 # and she told me it was recalled and fixed in 8/2015 and i would have to pay for it getting fixed. i took it back to the same ford dealer that did the recall service. today, they told me the whole power steering system has to be replaced. $1600 plus repair. do i have any options of getting my money back from the ford manufacture?
Advanced track power steering failure. i have already had the recall repair and it is now happening again.
