Problems with 2011 Ford Fusion VISIBILITY

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fusion. the contact stated that the sun roof exploded and imploded glass without warning. the glass particles entered the inside of the vehicle. there were no injuries. shenandoah ford (9135 winchester rd, front royal, va 22630, (540) 636-2901) was contacted and referred the contact to the manufacturer. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was contact, but did not specify that they would determine the cause of the failure other than having the insurance company cover the repair and for the contact to replace the part. the approximate failure mileage was 146,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fusion. while the vehicle was stationary, the blower motor resister malfunctioned. the contact stated that the wires associated with the component melted. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 120,295.

Driving along and the sunroof exploded. sounded like a gunshot. glass did not just spiderweb, pieces of glass, including small shards and slivers fell inside the car and into the backseat. fortunately the car seats had no kids at the time, as there was glass there. *tr

At sometime, after car was shut off, the driver, passenger windows and sun roof opened. this has happened 6 times. *tr

The fan blower to the air condition failed to work after a short park. the dealership told me the wire and resister had burned,did not know which happened first. i was told it could cause a fire so the parts were disconnected. until new parts were installed. my concern is this vehicle was parked in my garage and this could have been a much bigger problem . i also am concerned that i am not the only one. why should this happen to a car less than 2 years old. *tr

Low beams dangerously inadequate. low beams illuminate a pattern of only 18 ft. in front of vehicle. at 25 miles per hour a vehicle travels 36.6 feet per second, which means the driver has less then a half of one second to react to anything in or on side of the road. had the vehicle to the dealer twice regarding this but not until the salesman and service manager took a night time ride did they believe my complaint. after the night ride time they both agreed, "they would not drive a car like that". service checked four other fusions and discovered they too had this pattern of light. since the beams are within the owners manual specks and ford has not addressed/acknowledged this issue as of yet (waiting for a fatality?) the dealer could not help me and suggested installing after markets and registering the vin# with the nhtsa. purchased piaa 75's and had their service dept install. this did not fix the 18 ft. visibility pattern problem. *tr

The windows and sun roof on my ford fusion 2011 opens on their own when no one is around the car. my car was 200 miles away from me and friend found windows and sunroof opened. had to make trip to car in order to close windows. ford dealer said that this could not possibly happen even though the taurus had the same problem. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fusion. the contact stated that when the heater was activated, the silver portion of the heat adjusters would become extremely hot and could not be adjusted. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where the mechanic was unable to diagnose the vehicle. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified. the failure mileage was 2,000. the current mileage was 50,000.
