Drivers door release handle broke internally. parts is plastic and is brittle in cold weather. this is second time it has broken. major issue is that driver cannot exit door in a emergency and requires jumping over console to passenger side. *tr

When traveling home from work on november 4th, 2013. vehicle's advancetrac system failed.this made it difficult to turn car as it made the steering wheel very stiff. this caused an accident when entering a parking lot. i took the vehicle to the dealership and was notified that the vehicle just became "out of warranty" at 75,000 miles. the estimated cost of repair was $1762.00 having the vehicle without its power steering has also affected my tires. which needed to be constantly replaced. *tr

Car stalls while driving, my husband thought it was bad gas and we let it go then it stalled again while driving 60mph. i searched the internet and it seems a lot are doing that, parts on backorder, there are so many. what does it take to get a recall. someone to die.??????????? *tr

I was a passenger in a 2010 ford fusion and was in the front passenger seat and another person was in the right rear passenger seat. i was exiting the car and because the door had opened to far, i used my hands to pull myself out of the car. at the same time, the passenger in the right rear seat was in the process of opening their door and exiting. due to the close proximity of their door edge (approximately 1/16 inch) and the car itself, a finger tip on my right hand was completely amputated when the door was opened. i was taken by ambulance to hospital where surgery was performed.

A crack appeared on the driver side door interior handle. the door would not lock. door can be opened at high speed and can also be opened when locked with the key fob. i am concerned the latch handle will break and i will not be able to open the door from the inside. the car cannot be secured against potential theft. this is a serious manufacturing issue and could be easily corrected through a recall. *tr

Pulled out into traffic and my car lost all acceleration and began to shudder when i got it to the shoulder. turned it off, and back on: no issue. less than 40 yards down the road it did it again. took it to auto zone, the only code that came up was that my "fuel door stuck open". which is impossible, because it came with a "racing cap" i.e no twist-off cap. drove fine for two months, then came back something awful to the tune of freeway 75mph to zero, at which point it went into "limp mode" and barely made it home due to numerous stalls. just had to replace this defective throttle body on a 3-year old car. ridiculous ford. also, my drivers' side interior door handle broke out of nowhere. *tr

Front driver side interior door handle fractured while opening car door in usual manner. door will no longer open using handle, nor will door lock using either handle or keyring remote. *tr

Was at a stop sign waiting for traffic comming off of the free way. the car in front of me accelerated to merge afte i had a opening to merge i accelerated to merge and the person in front of me came to a complete stop and i hit him from behind. there was over $8,000 in damage.

The interior door handle on the drivers side door (and other doors as i have read), breaks at the point of contact with the spring release. once the handle has broken the door cannot be opened from the inside. occupants must roll down a window and open the door from the outside, effectively trapping the occupant inside the vehicle should the windows not roll down. *tr

2010 ford fusion sel. customer writes in regards to continued transmission problems.*smd the consumer stated the transmission would slip harshly and hesitate on acceleration. the recall repair did not correct the transmission problems. it was determined that the valve body and solenoid body were defective. also, one of the tires was leaking air, there was an issue with the traction and brakes. there were noises coming from the front of the vehicle. the steering wheel would not lock into place, the cd player did not work at times, the driver side visor did not stay in place, the gas over flow tube was inoperative, the vehicle would pull hard when the brake was applied. the rear driver's side door had to be slammed extremely hard, in order to close it. the driver's side seat belt was backwards. the passenger side windshield wiper dragged on the windshield and the vehicle would sometimes surge on its own. each time the consumer went to the dealer about certain problems, she was told no problems were found.

Tl*the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. the contact was unable to read the speedometer due to the reflection of the sunlight glare through the tinted windows in the vehicle. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for inspection. the technician stated the problem experienced was a manufacturer design. the manufacturer was notified and there was concern of the safety risk involved. the failure mileage was 300. *cn updated 02/19/10

Safety issue. design/engineering defect. 2010 fusion hybrid. foot space between the knee airbag housing and brake pedal is severely and dangerously restricted by the physical presence, bulk, and location of the knee airbag. this delays response for instant brake deployment for emergency deceleration. vertical clearance is ~4" and is less if approached at an angle, swiveling on heel from accelerator to brake. lifting foot with leg from hip bumps foot against airbag housing, stopping smooth transition to pedal with either foot. foot then must slide horizontally into narrow space to engage brakes. foot space is dangerously restricted even with driving mocs. i have excellent reflexes and 60-year safe driving record with no moving violations. but in congested freeway conditions during a 3600-mile road trip i felt required to drive with left foot poised above the brake pedal to limit emergency response time. with only short trips for 1500 miles, i at first thought i might get used to this problem. this limitation and the extraordinary driving practices required for safety only became painfully apparent during the road trip. this safety issue was reported to ford motor company today. desire physical removal of knee airbag with all mounting hardware and reprogramming of software to ignore its absence. note: the required "incident date" on this form is the approximate date of manufacture, listed on the rocker panel as 10/09. this is an engineering design defect which appears to have been an afterthought. no accident has resulted only because i have devoted assiduous attention to mitigating the problem by shoe choice and extremely careful driving practice. *tr

Our 2010 ford fusion is starting to split to split at the seams literally. on the passenger front door on the armrest where the window switch is, the panel is starting to separate & come apart. the top of the panel bulges upwards as if something in the door is pushing it up. my concern is especially here in nj with the recent snow & rain, moisture & dust could come in through the crack & either short out or disable the electrical wiring in the door (speakers, window, etc). the failure stared at 2000 miles & the split gets bigger each day & current mileage is 5300 miles. i'm sorry but i've bought ford for the last 15 years & this is probably the worst quality i've seen in ford cars. *tr

Ford fusion 2010 s - when the brake was depressed the car accelerated until i depressed a second time much harder. the consumer first began to notice the vehicle would intermittently not start in august. he took the vehicle to the dealer, but they were unable to duplicate the problem. the consumer insisted there was a problem and eventually, they found a technical service bulletin that addressed the issue. the problem was attributed to radio frequency intermittently corrupting the crankshaft position sensor and a new ground strip was installed. the problem seemed to be rectified. the weather stripping surrounding the rear window was loose, there was loose metal around the passenger rear wheel. *jb
