Engine dropped to 900 rpm. coasted to stop. vehicle would not respond to acceleration. turned engine off and restarted made it to town. diagnosed by dealership as throttle body. parts not available till october. they have car we have rental because we had extended warranty. if we didn't have that we would be in trouble. *jb
I was traveling down a 2 lane highway (state road, pa) when the car began to rapidly lose acceleration and seemed to stall. the engine jerked excessively, but never turned off. no amount of pressing the accelerator made any difference. i coasted to the side of the road safely. luckily, no one hit me. turned engine off and called for roadside assistance. turned the vehicle on a few minutes later and everything was fine. the yellow wrench light came on when accelerator lost control. next day, while driving to work , it happened on rt13n de and again i was lucky to be able to quickly get to the emergency lane. yellow wrench light and no control on accelerator with engine vibrating heavily but does not turn off. switched off and turned on - everything is fine. same day evening - returning from work - it happens as i get on the entry ramp to i95 n de. narrowly missed someone rear ending me. yellow light, heavy vibration and no acceleration. turn off and turn on, everything is fine. being in downtown wilmington - no emergency lane and had to do this right in the middle of the road during rush hour. this sudden loss of power is extremely scary and with 2 children in the back seat - i fear for their safety. imagine if this is happens on the interstate with a 18 wheeler behind you. will be taking to dealer first thing in the morning. vehicle is serviced and maintained only by ford. no one has touched my vehicle other than ford authorized dealer and have not missed a single ford recommended maintenance service. *jb
My 2010 ford fusion begins to shake, vibrate and then the engine stalls without warning, while driving in traffic. this happens while driving at either interstate speeds or city driving speeds. i have to stop, place my car in park and restart the engine. i have come close to being rear ended by a car behind me, both on the intersate and on city streets. *js
I accelerated after a red light and was traveling up an incline and suddenly i had no engine power. i thought car had stalled but all lights were on in the dashboard and i still had steering capability. i coasted down the bridge and pulled off into the first public parking i could find. the car was idling very rough. i shut it off, waited a few minutes and restarted. it started fine and traveled ok on the way home. it seemed a little hesitant a couple times but it didn't repeat the "limp-mode" that it was in previously. *jb
Just four months after purchasing my so called "certified pre-owned 172 point pass inspected 2010 ford fusion" the car starts acting up while driving down a main street in the middle of town, the car lost all acceleration right after i started taking off from a stop light. the wrench light then came on and the car started to stall out as this was going on i'm also trying to turn left, which was a little scary because i basically cut someone off while turning because, i had no acceleration whatsoever to avoid them. this is a serious problem and i'm not the only one whose had to go through it from all the same complaints i see on the internet. this malfunctioning throttle body needs to be recalled before someone gets seriously hurt! *jb
I was traveling on a two-lane paved road in a 50 mile an hour zone when i felt the car start to decelerate. i pushed on the gas pedal but nothing happened and the car continued to slow down. i was able to pull over at the intersection of a side road where i shut the car off. i started the car back up and proceeded out into the main road. less than a mile down the road the car started to decelerate again and i turned onto my street and coasted to a stop. both times the check engine light and the wrench icon on the dash came on. when i had the cause of the check engine light diagnosed, i found out that the car's throttle body had failed. i could only order the part through a ford dealership and the closest one is 40 minutes away from me. *tr
We were going down the interstate and my car started shaking and died out. this continued 6 more times before we found a valvoline and had them test it on their computer. it gave the code p2111 tac system open. now the code is gone and the dealer can not fix it unless it displays this code so we have to continue to drive it until the error message shows up again.*jb
Driving on a busy interstate highway when suddenly my car looses power and goes into limp mode. absolutely no throttle response. wrench light indicator came on. i pulled over to the side of the road and my car shuttered a bit as i slowed down. turned the car off and waited a minute before restarting. restarted sluggishly. began driving again and no more than 5 minutes later, the same thing happened. this time the check engine light came on. once again, turned car off, restarted and began driving again. made it into a local brake/muffler shop where they were kind enough to diagnose the problem for me. error code p2112 came over with a description about the throttle body actuator being stuck closed. they informed me they've seen this problem many times and it seems to be a common issue. it made sense to me because, leading up to this event, i had been experiencing a lagging throttle. it has happened to me twice more since this initial occurrence. *jb
Driving on highway, traveling at appx 65-70 miles per hour - car started rattling and then slowed down considerably - car did not stall, but pressing on the gas pedal and the car did not accelerate. was able to safely pull over, turned the car off, tried to drive, but the car wouldn't drive - engine worked fine, but car would not move forward or backward. yellow wrench light came on. had car towed to dealership. was told it needs a new throttle body assembly. *jb
Driving down highway when wrench lights up and check engine light with no acceleration. shut car off and was allowed to make it up to 45mph and under 2k rpms. recall ford fusion throttle bodies!!
Second engine/power train failure within 4,000 miles of vehicle 36 month, 36,000 mile warranty expiration (first failure was a total power loss at high way speeds within 1,000 miles of warranty expiration). vehicle suddenly began jerking, shuttering and hesitating upon first acceleration. ford evaluated mass flow sensor to be faulty and replaced at $425 cost in addition to $50 rental car. upon consultation with ford customer service, no costs were covered or reimbursed. my wife often travels alone with my children, so we purchase new cars specifically to avoid such break downs and maintenance problems. we paid cash for this vehicle, and could buy a new bmw 760il tomorrow free and clear. instead, we bought a ford fusion to show support for the american auto industry. understand that mechanical failures happen, but very disappointed with ford customer service for not reimbursing or issuing recalls for these known manufacturer defects occurring on essentially new first owner cars < 40,000 miles. will never buy a ford again. *tr
Driver stated that the vehicle was shaking while she was driving it and she was unable to accelerate. she was able to get the vehicle pulled over and turn it off for a few minutes and get it restarted. she took the vehicle to the nearest ford dealership where it was determined that the throttle body needed to be replaced. *tt
Motor power surge a few times then died with 4 lanes of traffic all traveling about 65mlh. was able to turn key off and restart motor and ran fine the rest of the way home. today surge a few times but not as often as yesterday. *tt
I was driving and a wrench came on my dash, the car stalled and lost all throttle. its happened to me before but now its doing it alot more. i am afraid i will get hurt. *tr
I was travelling on an interstate doing 70 miles an hour when my car made a bang and i lost all throttle response. the car was running, seemed to go into neutral but pressing the gas pedal did nothing. i was able to cost over 4 lanes dodging traffic to get to a spot where i could come to stop. after turning off the engine and restarting everything went back to normal. now just over a week later it happened 3 more times in 1 day. doing research it seems this is a common complaint from fusion and escape owners. it also seems there may be an investigation under way as to whether this should be a recall issue. now if ford was to fix this it would be 1 thing, but after almost killing me on the interstate i now have to fork over $400 to the dealership because even though my car is several thousand miles short of the 30k mile warranty, the 3 year stipulation on my warranty ended less than 3 months ago.
Rapid deceleration while on the freeway, wrench sign came on. pulled on the side of the freeway and car started sputtering and jerking, turned car off turned back on and drive fine. back on the freeway the next day during rush hour traffic and rapid deceleration happened again. pulled over in rush hour traffic (very dangerous by the way) turned car off and back on and ran fine. ford says it will cost me $565.00 for a new throttle body and cam on a 3 year old vehicle that has had regular maintenance. *tt
Driver was complaining that the vehicle was running rough while driving. the vehicle stalled a couple of times and the driver was able to get it restarted and drive it into the nearest ford dealership. it was determined after diagnostic that it was the throttle body that had gone out and needed to be repaired. the shop told us it would be a minimum of 3-4 days before they received the throttle body assembly before they would even be able to start the repairs. *tt
While on the freeway doing approximately 65-75 mph, my vehicle lost power, the wrench light came on the dash, and the vehicle began to stall. i pulled over to the side of the freeway, turned the car off, and restarted. it was fine after restarting. a couple days later the incident occurred again. within 4 days, my vehicle began to have 4 episodes on my 11 mile commute. these issues during rush hour traffic prompted me to bring it in to the dealership asap as i did not feel safe driving it any longer. my vehicle is currently at the dealership awaiting diagnosis and repair. after a google search, i am fairly certain that the diagnosis will involve the throttle body.*jb
My husband was driving on the interstate highway at about 75 mph and the wrench light came on and the car suddenly lost acceleration and would not accelerate with the gas pedal. it shuddered as he drove, and he was only able to drive at a very low speed. he was very worried that he would get hit by other faster cars. he got it towed to the closest ford dealership, and they replaced the throttle body. we are registering this complaint because we understand that this is a problem with ford cars generally. *tr
10 months ago i purchased a so called certified pre owned car, on or about aug 24th i was driving to work on a busy street at n approx speed of 40 mph when my car suddenly shut off, i was unable to pull over and was towed to the nearest dealer. after being in the svc dept for 4 days i was told the issue was fixed and charged a $100 deductible for nothing, as i was leaving the dealer i noticed my rpms acting up and before i drove off the lot i made it aware to svc advisor his response was that it was normal after the svc performed on my car and to continue to drive it. 2 weeks later i was on a 8 lane hwy driving at a speed of 65-70 mph and the same thing happened. i was in the middle off all lanes and was unable to get to the shoulder in a secure area. it was rush hour traffic and i was in extreme danger expecting a disaster to happen behind me. i stayed in my car and my roadside assistance arrived and took me to my dealer, a day later i was told it was the throttle body and that my warrant did not cover it and i would have to pay $600+ to repair, i asked the advisor to not touch the car that i would consult an attorney as i find it unfair to pay such a significant amount of cash for a so called certified car i purchased not even a year ago. come to find out im not alone, there are many other issues with this car and something needs to be done by ford asap. *tr
Basically the car shut down driving down the pennsylvania turnpike on friday morning at 65 mph, the car totally shut down. this happened 2 times at 65 mph and one time at about 25 mph while entering the turnpike. i was very lucky that the tractor trailer behind me going about 70 mph, saw something was wrong with my car and had time moved over into the passing or he would have hit my car and killed me. this happen one more time during my morning commute at that speed. i took my car yesterday to the ford dealer and he repaired the throttle body motor assembly. i have notified ford customer service case # cas-#[xxx], but i believe this is an immediate life & health safety recall issue. [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr
I was driving my car on the expressway and suddenly my engine died with no warning and the rpms dropped. i came very close to an accident and luckily was able to get it off the road. people drive very fast and i feel lucky to be unhurt. i have a defective throttle body and i can no longer drive my car till it is fixed. this is very dangerous and should be recalled. they say the circuit board is faulty and is sending the engine the wrong signal. someone is going to get seriously hurt or killed . please add this to your list of other complaints. i bought my car on july 11, 2009 thank u *tr
I was leaving work driving down columbia pike road in arlington, va. @ 3:30 in the afternoon on august 22, 2013 heading towards interstate 395. i has stopped at an intersection waiting for the light to turn green and my 2010 ford fusion began to shake violently, as if it was going to cut off for no apparent reason. i looked at the dash board and saw an illuminated wrench and could not figure out what was happening. the street light turned green and i mashed on the gas pedal and the car did not have any forward motion. the car continued to shake violently, so i immediately turned on my emergency flashers to warn the other cars and for my safety, that i was having a mechanical problem with my car and coasted down the hill looking for a safe location to try and figure out exactly what was wrong with the car. as i coast down the hill, i continued mashing the gas pedal with no results. i pulled over stopped the car and turned the car off for a few minutes trying to figure out my next step. just by chance i decided to try and restart the car and the car started up with forward motion. if i had been on the interstate 395 near the pentagon, i could have lost my life because of this problem. i called my wife who lives in atlanta and told her what had happened and by chance that evening on the atlanta news other ford owners were describing this very same issue (throttle body failure) on there ford vehicles. i am filing a complaint against ford motors to get this problem fixed at no cost to the ford owners. we paid our money for a quality product and ford should stand behind there product and fix it not just run away from the problem. *tr
I purchased my 2010 ford fusion in april of 2012 and have had many incidents of the "check fuel inlet" message after filling up. sometimes it will trigger the check engine light to illuminate. i have had a diagnostic test ran when this has occurred and was told it was that the gas flap didn't seal properly when i removed the fuel nozzle. this again occurred on aug. 17, 2013 but the car was running fine. then on aug. 22 i had 3 incidents within 30 minutes of each other. the first incident was while traveling on the highway at approximately 65 mph the wrench warning light came on and the vehicle lost all power. i managed to get the vehicle to the shoulder of the road. i turned the vehicle off and restarted it and was able to travel the next 4 miles with some sputtering and racing of the engine. the second incident i was pulling away from the curb trying to accelerate. the wrench warning light came back on and the vehicle had no power. the third incident i was traveling approximately 20 mph when the engine again lost power and the wrench warning light came on. after researching this issue it seems to be a common occurrence and should become a recall by ford motor company. *tr
I was driving on the highway at about 65 mph when my vehicle lost power. pushing the gas did nothing. i had to coast off the side of the road. restarting my vehicle seemed to resolve the issue. the second incident was in town. i was driving about 35 mph when my vehicle lost power. i pulled off to the side , the vehicle sputtered as if it might die. i turned off the engine and then restarted it. i drove about 1/4 mile to my mechanic who was unable to diagnose the problem with his scanner. he thinks it is the " drive by wire " or a sensor. *tr
Upon accelerating from a dead stop at a traffic signal, i could not accelerate past 15 mph. i pulled over to the side of the road an the car was idling very roughly and on the verge of stalling. i turned the car off, waited 1-2 minutes, restarted the car and the car was running "normally". i don't recall if any of the dashboard lights came on. i took the vehicle into my local ford dealer and was told that the issue is the throttle body and it needs to be replaced and that the stalling could happen at any given time. unfortunately the part id on back-order for 1-2 months so i need to live with this dangerous issue for some time. the car is a 2010 ford fusion. i am the original owner (purchased in dec '09) and this is the first occurrence of this stalling issue. *tr
I was driving home from the local store and came up to a light. as i started to turn right and accelerate, the engine suddenly stopped accelerating. the incident occurred at about 1000 rpm's. the "service engine soon" light appeared. i quickly pulled over to the side of the street and turned the car off. i turned the car back on and got no more then 100 yards without the same thing happening again. i repeatedly did this until i managed to get home. a tow truck took it into the dealership and they said the throttle body was bad so they replaced it. i'm thankful this didn't happen when i was turning left with oncoming traffic which could have easily resulted in an accident. *tr
Upon accelerating from stop at city intersection to 30 mph, car suddenly lost all acceleration. coasted into nearby lot. "wrench" light on. turned car off. luckily, no car had been approaching from rear, and this was before entering ramp to busy 60 mph highway. car ran, as if normal after re-starting, wrench light out. drove 15 miles to dealer service shop. shop performed ford's throttle body test procedure and verified throttle body had failed. shop replaced electronic throttle body assembly; car at 54,000 miles. from researching, see that this a prevalent issue with increasing rate of occurrence (a top 5 car complaint over past 90 days). given the apparent incident rate, intermittent nature, and odds of occurring with sudden surprise in traffic moving at speed, clearly presents a hazardous condition and compromises safety in otherwise normal driving circumstances. evidently problem occurs within predictable range on odometer, which probably indicates some manufacturing defect leading to premature failure. along with the resulting safety risk exposure, this does not reasonably meet automotive consumer expectations for the equipment and technology. as more vehicles go through this mileage range, may become epidemic with increasing odds for bad outcomes. wanted to add my event to the list; maybe can save someone else potential serious accident and injury. to this point, the car seems good otherwise, but this item needs to be taken seriously and by all rights get remedied in a proactive manner.
Due to the failure of the throttle body, the car engine quits at various speeds or will not accelerate and stalls with on coming traffic. when this happens, the cars power brakes and steering fail to work creating a very unsafe event. ford has had hundreds or thousands of problems with this according to the local dealership, if fact they have several cars waiting for parts (throttle body) to repair in their back lot. i have been promised by ford customer service the part would be shipped for over three or four weeks, but they have shipped none due to the manufacture on back order or putting the parts in "new" cars to sell. we have no choice but to keep driving the vehicle doing this time. ford refuses to provide a rental car since my car is "out of warranty", in the mean time, they will not ship the part to repair. if, according to the dealership, they are having this problem with multiple models, why has this not be a recall by ford to fix or furnish a replacement while they can't send the part to fix the safety problem. (when the car quits at 35-60mph in traffic, this is a safety problem.) *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. the contact stated that while driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle stalled and the wrench warning icon illuminated. the contact merged to the shoulder of the road and was able to restart the vehicle. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer for a diagnostic test. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that the failure could be related to the electronic throttle body but suggested the vehicle be officially diagnosed. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure and current mileage was 33,733.
I purchased my 2010 ford fusion se (4 cylinder - six speed) in february 2013. the vehicle had 12,100 miles at purchase. the vehicle currently has 16,900 miles. i was traveling on the highway at approximately 65 mph when the "wrench" warning light came on and the vehicle began to lose power. the vehicle literally had no power and the vehicle's speed decreased rapidly, with no response to increase power via gas petal or downshifting to a lower gear. i was lucky that i was in the left lane, which had a shoulder. i was able to pull off the highway and shut the vehicle off. i waited about 2 minutes and started the vehicle, which hesitated at first, but then started. i drove the car to work and the vehicle operated with no issues. i brought the vehicle to a ford dealership that evening for diagnostics. the next day, the dealership advised that the throttle body needed to be replaced. i am glad that i had purchased an extended warranty ($100.00 deductible) because the out of pocket cost would have been over $500.00, for a vehicle with less than 20,000 miles. this complaint needs to be forward to ford motor company in regards to the faultiness of the throttle body part. i was lucky, but this situation could have caused an accident on the highway. *tr
Ford fusion 2010 has defective engine fuel system/computer identifying the throttle body as the non-functional part causing a safety hazard to self and others. at 60 mph freeway speed the car goes into an instant "low rpm mode", causing complete loss of foot pedal control and rpm immediately reduced to 800. at this point the car is an unguided missile looking to strike something. the power steering is non existent. my car did this on 8-19-2013 with only 12303 miles on it. this has to be an electrical malfunction of the throttle body sensing circuitry being defective. it is only a little more time until this gets someone killed. after stopping with a dead engine, starting again results in very rough idling and no more than 800 rpm, which is incapable of moving the car. shutoff the ignition, check and have good oil and transmission and cooling levels. started the car again and it was back to normal, until one block later at a stop light......same thing again. if ford does not do a recall on this, they will have to spend money on the relatives of the dead people's lawsuits! *tr
I was driving about 60 mph on the highway, and the engine stopped. i coasted to the side of the road, and turned off the key to reset the alarm code. the car started and drove normally for about 2 miles, then the engine stopped again. within 5 miles the car would barely run at all, the engine was mis-firing and clunking along at 2 mph and stalling every few feet. i had no previous indications of a problem. the car was running fine, and then within 5 miles it was completely un-drivable. the problem was failure of the throttle body, cost $525 to repair. there are many reports of this problem on the internet. *tr
On 8/17/13 while driving down the highway at 65 mph, my car went into (limp mode) would no long accelerate, we safely pulled to the side of the road and the car began to shake violently. we put the car in park and shut it off, we restarted the car and it worked fine, the next occurrence occurred 9/1/13, while accelerating up a freeway ramp, all the same symptoms, again the car restarted fine. third occurrence 9/2/13 while driving 35 mph on the street. it seems it is the throttle body. my car is no longer under warranty, i called the ford dealership and they are on "back order for the part," i was also told this part "goes out all the time." i am told it can be up to 1 month for the part to come in! my car is not drivable and is a safety hazard. luckily, the past three occurrences i was able to pull safely over, but i can not risk, driving it any longer. i am stuck.*jb
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. the contact was driving 10 mph when the engine stalled. the vehicle was able to be restarted but the failure was recurring. the vehicle was not repaired or diagnosed. the manufacturer was notified of the issue. the approximate failure mileage was 46,000. the vin was not available.
In the middle of my drive home on the interstate at 60mph, the car just suddenly lost the ability to accelerate. as i put on my hazard lights and began pulling off to the side of the interstate, the car began mildly lurching. luckily, i was able to safely pull to the side of the interstate and get the car stopped. i turned the vehicle off and restarted a few minutes later to find the vehicle appearing to be completely fine. i got off of the interstate at the next exit and luckily made it safely home. upon taking the car to the dealership to be looked over, i was told the throttle body was "gummed up" and would need to be replaced. i am told that this type of repair is not something commonly needed to be done on a car only a few years old with only 56,000 miles, and the sudden loss of all ability to safely control the car on the interstate is an extreme safety concern. *tr
While doing 50 mph on a highway, the car suddenly lost power. the motor was still running, but it was as if it was in idle. depressing the accelerator did nothing. i pulled the car over to the shoulder and stopped. the idle was extremely rough. there was a 'wrench' indicator light. i turned the car off. as i restarted the car, it was very rough to start then after a few seconds, idle was normal. i drove without a problem for about 20 miles when the problem re-occurred in the exact same manner. when i started the car this time, the 'wrench' light was off, but the 'check engine' light was on and remained on. the ford dealership says the throttle-body needs to be replaced, and that this is not covered under the power-train warranty. *tr
The car unexpectedly losses power. it has occurred on two occasions. you can continue to press on the gas petal but the car will not increase in speed.you must pull over to the side of the road. turn the engine off. wait a few minutes and restart the car in order to gain control of the throttle again. it has a defective throttle body. this is a known issue to ford. they have recalled the 2010 escape for this same issue. ford needs to recall the 2010 ford fusion for this issue before someone is killed or injured.*js
My 18 year old son was getting ready to get on the freeway and the vehicle suddenly slowed to 30 mph. we took the vehicle to the dealer and they replaced the throttle body at our expense. this issue is so common that ford is having a hard time producing enough throttle bodies. the part is on national back order and this particular dealer had a car in the shop that had waited 1 month for this part. this is a serious safety issue. one minute later and my son would have been doing 65mph on the freeway. imagine if he was in traffic and suddenly could not travel faster than 30 mph. in addition, since this event the ford sync and bluetooth features no longer work. *tr
While accelerating heard a clunk and lost all power to the transmission and throttle. throttle light came on, car ran rough. had to coast to the side of the road. turned car off and back on. car ran fine, light went off and i continued home. now it happened again last week while going 65 on the interstate. same scenario. it happened again yesterday and twice this morning. cruise was set the last 3 times, going 68 on the interstate. last time in addition to the throttle warning light the check engine light came on and stayed on even after restarting. this could have been bad on the interstate, but there wasn't much traffic. it is now at the shop waiting on the verdict.
The car stalled out completely during driving, no power was left to drive with, luckily it was in a quiet street!! *tr
Driver was driving when the vehicle started to lose power and was getting slower and slower. when the driver pulled over the vehicle was idling and running rough. the vehicle stalled and the driver tried to restart it after letting it sit for a few minutes. she was able to get the vehicle to state back up, but it kept stalling. vehicle had to be towed to a ford dealership where it was determined that the throttle body needed to be replaced. *tt
I was driving in morning rush hour traffic and the car suddenly jerked and then just stopped. it would not accelerate and i was barely able to move the car off the road. i shut it off and was able to restart the car. however the car was acting the same. i took it to the dealer and was informed that the throttle body failed (code pewee). *tr
I was driving home doing about 50 mph, and all of a sudden the car lost power and i was unable to accelerate. the car started shaking violently and it finally stopped down to about 2-3 mph. i took it to the ford dealership and had to pay 824.00 to replace the throttle body. ford never mentioned anything about this being a problem. i have seen numerous news stories about this very problem. *tr
I was driving down the interstate and i pushed the gas pedal but the car would not accelerate. this happened twice within 2 miles. i took the car to a local garage and they said it was the throttle body. i took the vehicle to my local ford dealership and paid for it to be fixed because the car was no longer under warranty. hopefully if there is a recall, i can get reimbursed for my repair bill. *tr
Driving at 45 mph, car loses power and/or acceleration. wrench light illuminates and pulled car to side of road and vehicle shakes terribly. shut car off and waited a couple of minutes and restarted car. wrench light was not on and car ran fine. this problem has occurred on three more occasion within a week. dealer could not find any codes but stated it would be a problem with the throttle body, even driving the car by a mechanic with a diagnostic tester, they could not duplicate the problem. this is a serious safety issue that ford evidently does not want to fix under warranty because their is no code yet. their are a lot of complaints on this issue on the internet. ford needs to recall this part. *tr
Sitting at a light and the vehicle started idling very rough - dipping below 500 rpm and surging to about 1200 rpm. car went into limp mode when i hit the gas. pulled into a gas station, shut car off, restarted after about 30 seconds. ran fine for about 5 minutes. then proceeded to idle rough at the next three stoplights - this time not surging. car eventually stalled and had to be restarted all 3 times. seemed to run ok on the highway, but stalled once more at a light after getting ff the highway. idled it in driveway when i got home. idling very rough but hasn't surged or stalled now. *tr
My pregnant wife was driving my car home on the highway when the car suddenly died on her while she is in the fast lane. she pulled the car over to the side of the road and turns the engine off and then back on. about 20 minutes later the car dies out again, this time the shoulders are non existent and she is forced to turn the car off and on in the far right lane. my wife and unborn child could've died last night and it seems this is an issue that ford is aware of. when are they going to recall these faulty vehicles or at least replace the faulty parts that they put in them. we shouldn't have to pay one penny for their mistakes. *tr
Was driving on highway with cruise control set. vehicle began decelerating as if cruise control had shut off. i attempted to resume the cruise control with no success, as the car continued to decelerate. i pushed on the accelerator in an attempt to regain speed, because a vehicle behind me almost struck me in the rear. i had to maneuver onto the shoulder and came to a stop, because the car would not accelerate. i shut the car off and restarted it. it ran rough, but would accelerate and i was able to continue my 85 mile journey home. i have since learned this is a common problem with the 2010 ford fusion 2.5 liter engine, as the throttle body is defective. *tr
Driving along and vehicle lost power. pulled over and turned of vehicle. waited 1 minute and started vehicle up and was able to drive again. this has occurred at least 15 times since the first time and most of them occurred while i was driving on the interstate. always had to pull to the side and shut the vehicle off, wait a minute and start the vehicle back up and can continue on. no pattern except outside temperature was above 80 degrees. *jb
