Hi i need help with getting my car fix. i took my car in for the recall on the throttle and my car still isn't fix. i've taken it in three different time. the first two times they fix to parts. the third time, they are trying to charge me. i saw in the recall about the crack which can leak gas. my car has the crack they put on machine and i have print out. ford of upland california won't fix car unless i pay. what steps do i take now? i'm afraid of getting into an accident. my car acts as they it's going to shut off. my paperwork shows that the machine says evaporation leak from filter neck. please help this is second complaint i've made.

Engine stalls/shuts down while driving. check engine light came on. alarm p2111 came up. throttle actuator control system - stuck open. my vehicle stalled while turning left with oncoming traffic. it did this 3 times while driving home from work. this is an intermittent issue. i take it to the dealer, they adjust, it works for a while, then occurs again. this is a very dangerous problem.
When vehicle is stationary throttle decreases to below 500 rpm, and sometimes stalls. transmission and engine check come in intermittently. ford aware of the throttle body and accelerator problem but won't fix it until broken. took it to dealership and paid $125 for diagnostic but they told me there is no problem. i called ford and they just referred me back to the dealership stating they are aware of the problem but won't fix it until it is broken. please help, i can't drive the car due to the safety concern.
Car looses power and the check engine and transmition light comes on car while driving at low rpms while driving on city streets . had to pull over and shut off car and restart in order to drive home . had computer system scaned and a p2119 code comes up for throttle body . just had car in for a 15s34 recall purge valve assy and has been doing this since . cleared code and for a coupe of days its fine then it starts all over agin
Driving on highway and car just lost power. wrench light came on. could only drive about 5 mph. car was shaking/ chugging as i tried to give some gas. shut car off and waited 5 minutes and car ran good. happened again about half hour later. this happens about once every month with the car but this is the first time while highway driving. very dangerous. usually happens at lower speeds but this time i was going about 30 mph (coasting) and went to give it some gas and suddenly the engine had no power. whenever this happened previously, i would restart the engine . it would rev in neutral ok, but if you put it in drive, the wrench light would come on again and you would have no power. if you let the car rest for a minute or two before re-starting chances are your ok.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. while the vehicle was stopped at an intersection, it lost power while attempting to accelerate. the vehicle rolled as if it were shifted into neutral. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the throttle body assembly failed and needed to replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 70,180.
We purchased the car used in 2013 and had to have a motor put in 3 days after purchasing. the engine light came on and we took immediately to a mechanic and the motor was replaced.
Water pump in my 2010 ford fusion sport (3.5 liter v6 engine) failed, causing severe engine damage and sudden overheating. the vehicle was in motion on a city street when i noticed the temperature gauge rising quickly to the top. i had to pull over immediately. the car only had 54,000 miles on the odometer and had been well maintained with documented regular oil changes and periodic maintenance performed at the dealership.
This first happened to me on june 1, 2016. my 2010 ford fusion loses power once in a while when driving. a wrench light appears on the dash board and the car starts to slow down, accelerator does not work and sometimes the car starts to shake. you will have to pull over, turn the car off for a few minutes and then turn it off in order to drive it until the light comes back on again. it is very dangerous to drive it in the highway and specially when speed limit its 50 and trucks or other cars are coming at a high speed behind you because you do not know when this is going to happen to you again. i have this problem for a few weeks. i took my car for a recall for something else on june 24, 2016 and i mentioned to them about this issue and they said everything was fine. but i'm sure it will not be fine if i get into a car accident after complaining about this issue. the dealer will ask if the light its on in order for them to check it. but i have mention that the light goes on and as soon as you lose power and turn the car off and on it disappears.
Our vehicle is a 2010 fusion with 96,000 miles on it. my wife drove to work yesterday and the wrench light came on and vehicle went into limp mode and would not accelerate over 40 mph and was extremely slow getting to that speed. i know ford has a "satisfaction program" for this exact issue yet when i called them my vin was not in the program. this is the same [xxx] problem as the other etb replacement and software update yet i'm being told i have to pay out of pocket. my wife ended up breaking down on a very busy street with cars behind her yet ford won't acknowledge this is a bigger issue than the 1.6 million vehicles they recalled. how can my issue be exactly the same yet not meet the criteria? so does somebody have to be killed before it's address, or how many poor people have to pay out of their pockets with money they don't have before this is recalled as it should be. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr
I approached a stop sign and after stopping, i attempted to accelerate, but my car had significantly reduced power. the wrench illuminated and i was able to slowly guide my car to the shoulder of the road. i turned my car off, waited a few minutes and started it again. it started with no problem and i was able to drive it to the garage. i was told i'd new a new throttle body that would cost approximately $300 to replace including labor.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. while driving 68 mph, the vehicle lost acceleration intermittently and a repair service light illuminated. the contact pulled over, shut off, and restarted the vehicle. the service engine soon light illuminated. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the throttle body needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 120,000.
On the evening of april 22, 2016 car shut off when in motion at 35mph on a city street. no indicator lights came on. put car in neutral and started it after three attempts. the following morning i drove the car 2 miles to my father's house to have him check it. the car shut off while in motion at 25 mph on a city street. five times. a 10 minute drive took me more than 30 minutes. error code p2111 came up. my car has under 68,000 miles. throttle body. i believe this is covered under my extended warranty.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. the contact stated that the vehicle had not experienced a failure until the dealer repaired it for a manufacturer's recall to address the cpv valve. the dealer indicated that they reset the code, but did not replace the cpv valve. shortly after the repair, the service engine warning indicator illuminated. the dealer indicated that the recall repair was performed and they would cover the labor cost if the contact replaced the part. the manufacturer did not provide assistance. the manufacturer stated more than three times that they would respond back in 24 to 48 hrs, but the contact waited for weeks with no solution. the approximate failure mileage was 126,439.
The vehicle starting having a rough idle and stalling out at a red lights. i immediately had it checked, and the technician cleaned the throttle body which seemed to help for a few days. then, with no warning i saw smoke/steam pouring out from under the hood so i immediately called for help and asked what to do. i was advised by the technician to immediately pull over and shut the car. i had the car towed to lilliston ford in vineland, nj. i was told i needed a new motor. when asked why, i was consistently told that they were not sure without taking the motor apart but that they found all of the coolant in the engine pan, mixed with the motor oil. it seems to be that the most likely scenario is that the head gasket went bad and coolant leaked into the motor causing two things to happen - it mixed with the engine oil (which is obviously bad), and since now all of the coolant was out of the radiator the car overheated and warped the engine block. this vehicle is only 6 years old and was religiously maintained and should not be having major issues as such. case number: cas-9188661.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. while driving 65 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed, but the vehicle failed to accelerate. the check engine warning light illuminated. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the throttle control body needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. the vehicle was taken to another independent mechanic who diagnosed that the accelerator pedal needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 40,000.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v793000 (fuel system, gasoline). the first dealer performed a routine maintenance check in addition to the recall repair. when the service engine warning light illuminated, they cleared the code. the contact was unable to determine if the dealer performed a leak test on the canister purge valve (cpv). the dealer did not remedy the recall. after the dealer allegedly completed the recall repair, the contact was driving and the service engine light illuminated. the vehicle was taken to a second dealer for further inspection. the manufacturer was notified of the failures and refused to provide any further coverage to repair the vehicle. the contact was unable to determine if the manufacturer would remedy the failure and was uncertain if the vehicle was safe to drive. prior to the repair, the only failure experienced was the service engine light randomly flashing. the approximate failure mileage was 107,168.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. while driving at any speed, the steering wheel seized and was extremely difficult to turn. in addition, the service engine warning light illuminated. the vehicle was taken to a repair shop. the cause of the failure was unable to be diagnosed. the contact was advised to check with the manufacturer for diagnostic testing. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v793000 (fuel system, gasoline), but was unable to determine when the part would become available to receive the recall remedy. the contact was waiting on the manufacturer to supply the part to the dealer to receive the recall repair. the failure mileage was not available. vin tool confirms parts not available.
Engine would drop to idle and not respond to accelerator pedal, only restarting would solve. escalated to engine completely dying requiring a restart often at highway speed. on 10/20 driving to airport in chicago, car died a total of 7 times. called ford corporate regarding the etb customer satisfaction program, found my vehicle vin was not included. on 10/22 took to ford dealer and the etb was replaced at customer expense. was told that the codes were exactly the same as the etb's being replaced under the customer satisfaction program. called ford corporate again, but would not included in the program. a serious potentially life-threatening issue when a vehicle stalls in heavy traffic. suggest that all of the 2010 ford fusions should be included in the satisfaction program or the program should be upgraded to a recall program.
While stopped at red light and stop signs attempting to turn, the vehicle would rev itself corresponding with a rapid increase/decrease in rpm. upon acceleration the car would stutter and the engine turned off while allowing me to enter the intersection resulting in very close calls. this has been recurring with more frequency.
I was affected by the throttle body thing. i got it fixed at jim click ford in tucson. i've been experiencing heavy acceleration and throttle response problems since. i had my trams fluid leak from the cap. no leaks in any of my hoses. my rpms stay between 1700-2700 regardless of what speed i'm going. i took it back to jim click, even tho showing no errors. and it's always whining, my engine. i don't know what's causing this, but i definitely take care of my car. and fusions been having a lot of problems. and people tell my my car makes really loud noise when turning. i've never heard it or felt it, but i've been told by multiple people.
While driving, the car will suddenly lose all acceleration and the maintenance wrench light will come on. this has happened while accelerating from a stop, and while going 60 mph down the highway. the only way to reset it is to restart the car. if the car is not restarted, it will shake vigorously as if it is going to stall on its own. once restarted, acceleration is restored to normal until it does the same thing again.
While driving i noticed the temp gauge was on high. no warning lights preceding this and now low coolant alarm. turned a corner to pull off and before i could, check engine light came on and engine shuddered to a stop causing me to loose steering and brakes. with no warning enabling me to either check the car out, or safely get off the road. the water pump which is inside the engine failed. it has contaminated the oil now requiring an entire new engine. on searching google for the ford 3.5l v6 engine this appears to be a huge problem with these engines and its design. i cant imagine what would happen should it fail without warning at highway speeds.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. while driving 45 mph, the vehicle lost power, jerked, and hesitated before accelerating. in addition, the vehicle stalled. the contact was not able to restart the vehicle. the service vehicle soon and security lock warning lights illuminated. the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the battery needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. the vehicle was towed to a dealer who diagnosed that the throttle body needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 65,801.
While driving down the freeway at approx 70mph in heavy traffic, the vehicle made a slight jerk, and lost propulsion. i had to cross several lanes of traffic off to the edge of the road. there was no response to pressing on the gas pedal. once stopped and in park, the engine idled very roughly, shaking the entire car. i turned off the engine, waited about a minute, and re-started the car. it had to crank for a few seconds before turning over and starting. it then drove fine for about another 10 miles before quitting again. i again stopped, then restarted the car, and limped it home on side roads, off the freeway. it did not drive smoothly, but made it the other 15 miles home without quitting again. i took the car to an independent mechanic, who researched and found a known problem with the throttle body, causing these exact symptoms, and has referred me to a ford garage for an in-warranty repair. the appointment for that is tomorrow.
On saturday, 08/15/2015 @7:45pm i was driving on i-10 on the far left lane about 65 mph. as i started moving to the center lane to get to the right lane on a bit of an incline, a wrench light went off on the dashboard; i turned my emergency lights on. as i pressed on the pedal to get on the center lane, the car started losing speed. i pressed the pedal but the speed kept coming down. at this point the speed went to about 20 mph and a semi truck was directly behind me. i tried to get to the right lane, but another semi was on my right side. at this point, the speed was about 10 mph. right after the semi passed, i changed to the right and had just enough inertia to make it to a point on the freeway between an entry ramp and an exit ramp, not on a shoulder. after stopping, i turned the key ignition off. i tried to start right back, nothing. i called my husband to pick me up. while we talked, i tried the ignition again; the car started and i drove the car got off the freeway. i kept driving all the way home on the "gateway" next to the freeway on the right lane. went to the ford dealership as soon as they opened on monday, 08/17/2015, explained issue. service rep indicated that there was a recall on the engine throttle body, but it would have to be confirmed. the only way they could confirmed it was to drive the car on the freeway, since the computer did not show failure. the car lost power as it did for me, and the mechanic turned the engine off and back on to reset it. when i picked up the car on 08/24/2015, it was replaced under the recall. the service rep said that they are still getting this complaint. they see quite a bit for city traffic, but have had some for high speeds. he did say that my case was the most dangerous he had had and that unfortunately, ford will not issued a full recall and will only replace as it happens and if proven.
I was driving down the highway and a red triangle light comes on that says to stop safely. the engine shut off. i had to pull over and turn car off. once i started it back it starts fine but continues to turn off very few miles. this is a major problem and puts my families lives at risk. no lights are on after i turn car back on. this is very serious and can cause my family to die in a car crash. thankfully the hybrid engine still works which lets me slowly pull over but my speeds on the interstate goes from 70 to about 30 really fast and puts us in a very dangerous situation. please help me fix.
Vehicle lost power, would not accelerate a wrench showed on the instrument panel, it eventually begin to gradually gain some of it's power enough to get the car home. i have read numerous accounts by other people complaining about this problem. it's seem it has to do with the throttle body. my real concern is why ford motor company has not been required to issue a safety recall. loss of power could result in serious injury or death if this happens on a interstate are in heavy traffic.
While driving (8/8/15) on i-65 at approx. 75mph, the rpm's dropped and there was no response from the throttle pedal. after carefully making our way to the shoulder, it was noticed that charging system and throttle control/transmission indicator lights had turned on. i turned the vehicle off and upon restarting, everything appeared to be working as it should. the above was the second instance of this malfunction. previously (june 2015), while driving in city traffic at approx. 30mph, the rpm's dropped and the throttle pedal became unresponsive. after turning the vehicle off and back on, functionality resumed. over the next 15miles back home, this occurred three more times at speed between 25 ~ 55 mph. at all instances, the throttle control/transmission indicator light turned on, but then turned off after restarting the vehicle.
Car cut out and went to limp mode. code p2111 - actuator control system open this is a very serious safety issue!!!! my entire family was in the car. if i had not been a experienced driver an accident could have result from shutting down on the interstate

The car started spuddering and the check transmission light came on. it started jumping and would not acclerate.
Engine cuts off while driving with no warning. won't accelerate when gas is pressed. idle very rough at times and will shift hard at times. check engine light and wrench are both on when incident occurs. throwing obd2 codes p2119,p0104,p2112. ford fusion sel v6 3.0l 75k miles. all scheduled maintenance has been performed on time by dealer.
Vehicle suddenly lost power, malfunction caution light illuminated. did not lose power steering or brakes, but could not accelerate beyond 5 mph, if at all at times. engine shook/vibrated very badly. nearly rear ended by another car. activated 4 way flashers and was able to pull of highway into shopping area. any type of gas pedal pressure did not help. let car sit for 10 minutes, restarted engine and no issues while slowly drove around parking lot for a while to ensure no issues. do have a letter from ford for extended warranty, customer satisfaction program 13n03 to get the throttle body device replaced, but i consider this a hazardous condition. will now take to dealer and demand this be replaced before any other occurrences,

While driving upon acceleration increase of speed and slowing down there is a loud wining sound. when driving the vehicle for 15-20 minutes i can smell fuel inside the car. this is not when filling fuel it's while the car is driven for a length of time each day. the battery goes dead when sitting for one to two weeks. we have purchased 2 batteries in 1 year, had cables and connections cleaned and replaced. there has been messages coming up for "check engine" and the fan is noisy when the air or heat is turned up.
I was driving down the highway at approximately 65mph and came up behind a truck doing about 50mph. i changed lanes and went to pass the truck. as i passed the truck my car accelerated slowly and seemed to not switch gears at the right time, causing a hard shift and a "chug" feel. i passed the truck and slowed down to 60mph and as the car shifted again, it caused another hard shift and "chug" feel. this seems to be a common issue with ford fusions. mine didn't start happening until after the pcm update recall that was done on 2/26/15. i took it into ford after it happened the first time and they told me that since there is no wrench on the dash and no check engine light with a code, they can't find anything wrong and cannot replicate the problem i described to them. this is ridiculous that many cars have an issue but it looks like since there is no one that has been significantly injured or killed in an accident due to it, that it isn't being fixed. please recall this and fix it before someone loses their life from this.
I tapped the gas after i stopped at a stop sign & the car revved really high but didn't go anywhere. then the 2nd time i was on the highway the car revved really high again & again went really slow, like something wasn't catching. i'm glad the highway was empty because i could've caused an accident
Well just purchased this car a month ago and already in the shop. it was jerking and losing acceleration as i was pressing the gas also it shut off on me while i was driving. the check engine and wrench light came on. so i did a vehicle report on the car and it brought up the engine, transmission diagnostics. also the recall for the throttle body. since i have warrenty i took it to the shop where they say it was the transmission. changed it. picked it up today still doing the same thing and light still on. have to take it to the ford dealership where they can check the throttle body. called them and told them the issue, they telling me it's just saying i have a warrenty. so i had my fiance call and they said for us to call in the morning. they giving me the run around. i don't have money to waste. i have 2 children i have to get back and forth to school. i have classes i have to get back and forth to. when i purchased a car i didn't expect this. second time purchasing a vehicle. never had a problem. this problem needs to be fixed i can be driving with my children and god forbid this car continue to malfunction.
Car had sudden deceleration, loss of power, waited about 30 seconds and tried to restart. car restarted and parked due to safety concerns. did some research to find that nhtsb is failing to issue recall but ford has voluntarily agreed to fix and extend warranty. the dealer is playing dumb about it being throttle body issue even though it is supposed to be fixed free under ford csp# 13n03 and had the exact symptoms as described. this item should be recalled as it is a serious safety hazard on the vehicle. *tr
I believe this car is also affected by the electronic throttle body issues plaguing fords. i was driving the vehicle when it suddenly loses power and the "wrench" light appears. the vehicle lost speed and did not respond to the gas pedal. i was able to pull over and restart the vehicle with temporary resolution of the problem. this has been a gradually worsening problem.
