While parked and a passenger tried to open the back door on driver's side, the handle exploded and sent a piece of the handle into the front seating area. this could have resulted in injury due to the size and speed of the projectile. it nearly missed the front passenger. i have checked with ford motor company and was told there is no recall on this.

The dash on the passenger air bag protruded out several months ago. i can see the airbag in the gap from where the dash has stuck out. with the and humid weather in tennessee this last weeks, it appears the protrusion is getting worse. i have seen several complaints on this issue. my car is on the recall for the takata inflators issues and ford needs to have a recall and determine how to correct dash from protruding. i am very very very concerned with any passengers in my car and for myself if the air bag explodes and if no one is injured i am concerned if i can driving the exploding air bag could cause me to have an accident. please look into this issues. i know ford did change the dash design in all newer vehicles. thank you very much for your time. please look into this dash-airbag issue. The car has always made strange noises when going over bumbs. i just thought it was normal. a couple of months ago, the car started making a popping noise as i backed out of my driveway. now it has progressed to loud popping noise when i accelerate and apply the brakes. i had the car looked at and i was told something is wrong with the subframe and to take it to ford. it turns out that welds in the subframe are cracked and causing the loud popping noises and vehicle stability issues. this is a known issue but ford will not fix the issue until someone dies i guess.

On jan. 20 2016, i was driving my 2007 fusion and pulled into my driveway and the driver's door popped open on it's own. luckily i was moving slowly and it did not hit any thing. the door would not latch and could not close it. i had to use a heavy bungee cord to hold door closed so i could drive it to dealer for repair. was told that the door hinges failed, causing door to drop and break the spring pawl in door latch. so $900 later they repaired the door and i was able to operate car safely again. i feel that the hinges were faulty and caused a safety failure. i see that some newer models are being recalled for faulty door hinges currently. this recall should be extended to 2007 models. i feel i should be reimbursed for all or part of what had to pay to fix it. also should see if this affecting other owners. mileage was 96,575.

My car begin make a loud squeaking noise. (i describe it as if it was a old rust car) when i was driving. it didn't matter if the steering wheel was turning or not. i was told by one mechanic that it was my tire rod ends. ($400 later 3/1/16) my car is still making that sound when it's hot outside. my air bag on the passenger side dash board is buckling. my passenger door makes a lot of noise.( loud vibration sound)

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 ford fusion. the contact stated that the passengers side dashboard was prematurely deteriorating and warping near where the air bag was located. the contact was concerned that the failure would cause the air bags to fail. the dealer was notified of the failure and indicated that the contact would need to schedule an appointment to receive repairs. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 42,000.

Takata recallmy car was involved in a fender bender with the air bag not deploying, prior to that the check airbag light remained on. the marlow auto body collision center located in oxon hill maryland did try to look at it as to why i did not turn off, they even replaced the fuse, however i received a letter in the mail informing me there was a recall. i have contacted and tried to bring the vehicle into ford located in camp springs maryland on several occasions and they stated they never received the part and they were unable to accommodate my repair. i have since went back to marlow auto body this year 2018 for help but they stated i should contact the nhts to complain.

While driving the rear right door of my '07 fusion became ajar. the door becomes ajar while turning left and right. also the rear right door does not close securely and has to be gently pressed into the frame of the car in order for the latch to be somewhat secure.

Upon exiting my vehicle, i opened the inside door handle as usual with no extra force when i felt a "snap" from within the handle. the handle stuck out and does not return back to the normal position after pulling on it. i rolled down my window to open my door using the exterior handle and had to reset the lock inside the door jam. when exiting my vehicle, i now have to pull the handle out halfway and then pull the lock above and the handle at the same time to disengage the lock and open the door. besides this, the rest of the functionality seems to work as expected. not sure why the inside of the handle is made out of plastic and not metal as i've read dozens of forums on the same issue and should be addressed by ford.

The interior plastic door handle both on the passenger and driver side, stops working. upon further inspection, it clear that the moving parts inside the door handle are made of really cheap plastic and breaks on the inside. the door does not open from the inside, have to put window down and open from the outside. this is a dangerous hazard where someone could get hurt if they are unable to get out of the car quickly. this seems to be very very common with ford fusion base on information provided my the mechanic and a google search. ford needs to fix this. they need to issue a recall.

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 ford fusion. the contact stated that the dashboard detached from the air bag. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 63,000.

The dashboard around airbag portion has come apart and is rising up all the way across the dashboard. passengers' side the seat belt light and seat belt buzzer goes off. have notified ford. no compensation. do not have pictures available, but if needed will email them asap. the consumer stated there were toxic gases leaking from the airbag compartment which tampered with the adhesive on the dashboard. the dashboard began to bubble up around the compartment. the seatbelts would not release. the consumer's grandchild had to wriggle out from under the seat belt. the seatbelt had to be unscrewed from the floor to release the pressure on it. the interior dashboard light, radio, clock, mileage, and cd player would not operate. the engine light illuminated, the driver's seat seams began separating, the brakes stick, the interior door handles broke off, the rearview fell off while driving, and the tires had a constant leak. *js

Door latch failure on driver's door. door would not stayed closed. *tr

Air bag is bulging out of the dashboard. i heard lots of other complaints & thought there was a recall on these airbags! *tr

The open handle from in car on driver's side door broke inside door panel. unable to get out from inside car. if an accident were to occur i would be unable to escape from vehicle. there are several complaints on multiple year ford fusions from 2006 to 2010 online there are you tube videos on it. there should be a recall this can be a safety hazard with grave circumstances. *tr

The drivers side door locking mechanism has broke and the door will not close. we had to use a bungee cord to driver it to the repair shop and now they are telling us, 450$ to fix it. very scary drive with the door not engaged. *tr

Dash is lifting beneath the passenger side airbag. i'm afraid the air bag either may deploy unexpectedly or not at all. *tr

Dashboard vinyl and padding is bulging away from the passenger airbag panel. this seems to be a safety issue as the airbag may not deploy properly in an accident, or may deploy at any time without an accident and injure the passenger. sometimes airbag light goes on. although the dashboard looks unsightly, this is not a cosmetic issue, it is a safety issue!! *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 ford fusion. the contact stated that the dashboard was lifted up near the passenger side air bag. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the problem. the approximate failure mileage was 65,000. the vin was unavailable.

Dashboard cover area over passenger side airbag is starting to bulge and i can see airbag. concerned about failure of airbag to deploy or premature deployment. internet search has found this is a common defect and apparently ford does not do anything if the vehicle is out of warranty, which, mine is. i am the original owner and the vehicle has never been in any type of mishap to cause this problem. lets get ford to repair or remedy the vehicles that have this fault. *tr

This has happened three times in the last six months. while driving at highway speeds the hood randomly unlatches. thankfully the safety latch kept the good from completely opening. this could have been very dangerous. it just happened to us today in fact. i hope the service agreement will cover to fix the problem. i see that another person complained of this same problem on this site on 2010. *tr

All four of the interior door handles have broken, they are plastic. then just this week you cannot lock the car from the inside. *tr

The dashboard on top of where the air bag is bowing up causing a space where there shouldn't be. i'm scared that the airbag will deploy on it's own with no reason. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 ford fusion. the contact stated that the dashboard was deteriorating. the contact was concerned that the front passenger's side air bag would become compromised. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was advised that the entire dashboard needed to be replaced. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 80,000 and the current mileage was 83,000. updated 9/19/13 *cn

Without warning or any known cause, the driver side door lock mechanism is jammed, thus preventing me from exiting the vehicle. i have to take down the electronic window on that door, and pull the handle from the outside. this is a serious safety issue that prevents me from immediately getting out if the car in case of emergency, especially when i'm carrying my 10-year-old daughter to and from school or extracurricular activities. i have checked online, and this seems to be a common complaint for owners of the ford fusion se 2007. there definitely needs to be a recall. this just happened out of the blue. please assist. it is not fair that ford customers should have to pay for something we did not cause. thank you. *tr

Drivers door latch is not working from the inside. must lower window and open from outside. car was parked when incident happen. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 ford fusion. the contact stated that the dashboard was deteriorating. the contact was concerned that the front passenger's side air bag would become compromised. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis where the technician stated the dashboard would have to be replaced. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 36,000. *tr

I parked my vehicle and attempted to exit out of the driver's side door. i discovered there was no tension on the door handle. i was unable to open the door from the inside. in order to exit the vehicle, i must roll down the driver's side window and open from the outside. *tr

The airbag is sticking out of the dashboard and ford doesn't want to do anything about it. i believe that being this is safety concern and should be covered by ford. i have contacted them because we have a concern that the airbag will fail or just blow out of the dashboard without any notice. *tr

Interior door latch (driver's door) fails to open. i cannot get out of my car without rolling down the window and opening the door from the outside. also door will not lock when car is locked. i have read several complaints on this nhtsa site and other forums with numerous other people who are experiencing the same problem with their ford fusion. please investigate this issue and initiate a recall if warranted on the interior door latches of the ford fusion. this is indeed a safety concern - especially if someone must get out of the car quickly - also lock failure could be serious security problem. *tr

I went to get out of my car when i got home from work on friday and my inside door handle broke. luckily i was parked and at home when this occurred. this could have been bad if it was a situation where i had to get out of the car in a hurry and was not able to. i think ford should offer a recall on this problem cause this could be a deadly situation. *tr

Dashboard on the passenger side of the car has become unglued and is now sticking up above the airbag panel. it appears that this could be safety issue if the airbag were to deploy. *tr

I am from california and was driving in glendale, arizona at 1:00 a.m. on 06/30/12. the signal i came to was flashing red. cross traffic had flashing yellow light. assuming the cross traffic also had a red flashing light (as in california) i proceeded through the intersection. i was t-boned by a large delivery truck. the side/curtain airbag did not deploy!! i sustained numerous injuries for which i was hospitalized for 9 days. no one was in the car with me, thank god! a few days after the accident, i spoke with the officer that arrived at the scene. he told me that when he saw the amount of damage to my car, he thought he would be "calling the fatal team"....updated 08-10-12 *bf ford motor company needs to do a recall on, not only the fusion models, but on all of their cars. i do not trust ford and will never own one again. i have contacted ford regarding this issue and also an attorney, but i hate to think of all the other drivers out there who assume the airbags work in their cars when possibly they are defective. the number of cases i've read about since my accident shocks me. ford should have done everything they could after the first incident. be careful driving your vehicles...especially if it's a ford. get your airbags checked asap!!!! *tr updated 08/14/2012 *js

Driver's side interior door handle broke. this is a safety issue. if i were needing to exit the vehicle in a hurry, i could not. if i were not able to roll down the power window, i would not be able to open the door from the inside. *tr

The interior drivers door handle does not open the door. i have to unlock the door manually & reach to the exterior door handle to open the door. *tr
