Problems with 2015 Ford Focus UNKNOWN OR OTHER

On average, the 2015 Ford Focus starts to “feel” problems with the UNKNOWN OR OTHER and its various aspects after 39 221 miles.

Recently reported UNKNOWN OR OTHER problems on 2015 Ford Focus

I have gotten my car to the dealer for the various recalls and my car still is unsafe five separate instances my car has slowed to near stopping and three of those instances where on a major highway with children in the car of those three times i've been lucky that i have stayed and continued to drive on the right near the emergency lane. this car is unsafe to drive i have the same instance and every recall is supposed to be a solution to the problem. i've taken it to the dealer to check on it and everything appears to be working properly until it's time to drive and it continues to stall and stop. i've made a complaint before regarding this vehicle. this vehicle is unsafe to drive and there is still no solution to the issue that can end up costing lives. this car needs to be recalled due to its unsafe condition yet the company refuses to take accountability for this serious safety issue.

Received recall notice 18s32. i went to ford website to check if there are any other recalls so i could them while done i'm out of town. the only recall it listed is this one, but website says recall incomplete

Ford issued a recall for my ford focus because there's an issue with the vehicle's clutch. everything was supposed to be covered with no expense to me. upon delivering the car to a ford dealership i was told that i would be charged $145 for them to run a diagnostic check to locate the severity of the issue to my clutch. if the results come back showing the clutch to be the issue then the fee would be waived, but if it turns out to be another issue then i'd be found liable for the charge. in this instance because there's a recall that has been issued by ford, i do not feel that i should be getting charged just to have them look over the vehicle.

Vehicle just turns off out of now where no matter the speed and it has been turning off even when it is in park.

Purchased used from a ford dealer used 2015 ford focus. was told that vehicle had to lern my style of driving. car shutters when going accelerating, take time to shift between 1,2,3, gears. also shutters at other speeds in the middle of shifting. cannot shift quickly from parked or in stopped position like at a stop light or when merging into traffic. car also now revs high and has to be cooled down after driving. i cannot trust vehicle to be driven by other family members due to transmission and engine acceleration problems. has been an ongoing problem but dealership charges for diagnostics and states that it is the way i drive.

My husband was driving the car in rush hour traffic, on the highway, and the car suddenly made 3 clunks and then the car suddenly started losing power, almost died out.he could not get the car to accelerate, even though he was stepping on the gas pedal. he almost got hit. this is not the first time that the car has done this. the first time, it stalled out completely and left him stranded on the highway. ford is aware that there is a stall risk, but they can not repair the car. i have contacted ford headquarters regarding this safety issue. i have not heard back from them. the 2015 ford focus has a bad transmission and the vehicle is not safe to drive because of the stall risk. the dealership that has had my 2015 ford focus will not try to repeat the behavior that caused the car to completely lose acceleration. they keep trying to give the vehicle back to me and it is not fixed!! ford motors needs to be held accountable for knowingly selling the 2012-2016 ford focus when they knew that all of these cars had bad transmissions. we do not want the car back. these vehicles should not be allowed to be driven because of the stall risk.

Took my car for tcm repair - dealership found another sensor issue needing to be replaced 4 days later transmission fault service now and hillside assist unavailable errors came on. when accelorating from a stop the car has a hard time shifting gears. car is back at dealership but the mechanics and service director say they have never heard of such issues. it is all over the internet(over 4971 complaints) about ford focus transmission issues

A/c sometimes reduces to almost no air and little cooling, dealer says the a/c condensor is freezing into a block of ice due to failing sensor(s), but the computer does not store a code so they won't replace any sensors until the a/c fails and i bring it in while it is in failure mode!!! really convenient in the no. cal. summer of 100 plus degree heat!!!! this has been occurring since 2017 with no repairs made!!!

Recall with the pcm and tcm on this vehicle are a issue consistently every several months it is back at the dealership getting repaired. the recall only covers the vehicle till 80,000 miles. unfortunately since it needs work (under recall issue) every couple of months to keep the car running i am at a loss as to what i am supposed to do when my car hits 80,000. the car has a hard shift, sometimes will not reverse, sometimes will not start, sometimes will not pass 1st gear.

This complaint is in regards to the ford focus/fiesta dps6 transmission issue. due to the dry dual clutch system issue, the vehicle engine would shake and rumble violently while moving. this mostly occurs when the supposedly automatic transmission shifting from the first and second gear. the first time i reported this to the dealer, they replaced the clutch which stopped the rumble issue until few months later, the rumble returned. again i reported this to the dealership however this time they blamed it on the purge valve in the gas tank which they replaced. this did not fix the rumble issue and the dealership did not try to verify the rumble. they simply did not acknowledge it by stating they could not replicate the problem. few months later while i was on the freeway, the rumble occurred again but worse than before. immediately my vehicle lost power as if it's stuck at first gear. the vehicle's speed dropped tremendously which is extremely dangerous since i was on the freeway and everyone was going 60+ mph. luckily i was able to pull over safely without getting hit. i restarted the vehicle and it ran continue to rumble but not as violently, the check engine light was on. i quickly brought the vehicle to the dealership for repair. even though i have a bumper to bumper warranty, the warranty company refuse to cover the transmission repair because the dual clutch system is technically a manual clutch. for that reason they do not cover it. as a consumer, we have no idea exactly what type of parts the vehicle contains. the vehicle was advertised as automatic transmission which in common sense, it does not contain a manual clutch. the dealership was requesting $2000+ fee to replace this clutch. at the same time of this inspection, the purge valve in the gas tank was also defected and needs to be replaced.

Will driving down the street the other day my car stalled out well driving this is not the first time this has happened not only that but when you accelerate my car grinds while shifting gears the ford dealership already told me it's due to my recall issue but when asked to fix it they told me i was going to have to pay them first my children were in my car had we been on the highway we could have been dead something needs to be done about this needs to be done as soon as possible because i am telling you right now if something happens to me or my family i will hold whoever is reading this email and forward personally responsible

When turning the car vibrates and shakes a lots and make some noise.not sure what this could be but need help with this before something happens. this happened upon turning take off, highway, exhilaration in city also too. i just bought the car i notice third a friend bought this to my attention i thought it was the all whee we drive. bought car03-08-20 drive out of town in april for wedding.

The transmission warning light came on and the car was sputtering because of the dry clutch. it happened when the car was in motion on a city street

I have had this car for almost 2 years. almost everyday when i drive the car, it stall, slipped or doesn't want to go at take off. there has been many time where i press the gas to go while in drive and it won't go and acts like it's in neutral. i have almost gotten in car accidents because of this problem. the transmission is horrible. it's the dual-clutch transmission. they have even sent out a letter stating that it's the transmission and if you have had it services 3 or more times, you can get cash or replacement car. i don't have the money to go get it checked out 3 times and i also don't really need to because i already know the problem. this is very dangerous and can cause a major accident.

Hello, my vehicle stopped working twice while i was driving on city streets (this tuesday 12/18/2018 and thursday 12/20/2018). the first time it happened i was stopped at a red light and the second time the care was in motion when it first happened, the oil indicator and check engine light came on. oil was put in the car and unfortunately that didn't solve the problem since it happened again on thursday 12/20/2018. when the vehicle stopped on 12/20/2018, the engine light came on as well as the battery ligh. i had the car towed to a ford dealership on 12/20/2018 and they could not find anything wrong with it. i am afraid of it happening again.

Recall #19n08. the car has what recall letter says is "a judder or shudder on light acceleration from a stop or during shift events"; although mine is not 'light'. several times upon entering a main street from a side street the car shudder's so badly i almost get hit. when driving on a turnpike, i accelerate, and it shudders. at a stop, it shakes & shudders for 3 or 4 car lengths. it's not safe & it's gotten worse since i got the car. matthew's ford in broken arrow, ok says i do not have a clean title and when i called the oklahoma commission dmv office, they say the title is 'branded'. what does that mean? and, one of them said that the warranty had been cancelled, therefore there can be no recall work done on the vehicle. there are some extenuating circumstances surrounding this car. the dealership lied to me about the financing (hurting my credit and finances) and we ended up in a lawsuit, which was settled. i would hope that the dealership would not do anything mean to hurt me further. during the lawsuit they had provided me with a title, but it was not notarized properly, and i couldn't get a tag for almost 9 months. when we settled, i received a green title exactly like i had on other cars...so i don't know what is wrong with it that hinders me from a recall repair. i'm 74 and have bought a lot of cars and the title looks exactly the same as the others, no notations or stamps on it or anything. i even looked on car-fax and talked to the previous owner (a female college student) before agreeing to purchase the car. there was only 32,000 miles on it when i first looked at it december 17, 2018. just remembered...the salesman sneaked in a "tire & wheel warranty" for $1,600. i cancelled it, but had nothing to do with mechanical part of car and warranty place sent money back to the dealership, which they kept.

When accelerating my car shutter like causing the car to shake.

There was a recall issued for my car and the manufacturer has not provided a remedy.

Air conditioning system, after about 45 minutes of use, will greatly reduce fan speed. dealer says condensor may be freezing up due to a bad sensor. the car does not store a code for the dealer to diagnose which sensor is bad so they won't fix it. dealer says next time it is in failure mode, bring it in to try to get a code.

The problem is the clutch assembly and i don't know why ford hasn't placed a recall on this. many owners are having to deal with this known issue.

I was driving down a county road, traveling about 25 mph as i was about to make a turn, when my power steering completely fails. i nearly drove straight through a metal fence trying to make the turn to get off the road. now when i turn my key forward my cars computer sends a message saying "steering loss, safely park vehicle" the issue i am referring to by checking "unknown/other" is a shuddering transmission. everytime my car is going through first gear the transmission shudders. this gets much worse when when my car is close to being due for an oil change. ive serviced the car regularly and some months had to get multiple oil changes to try and combat the transmission shuddering.

I am aware that the 2013 and 2014 ford focus' have a issue that was recallable. my 2015 ford focus has the same issue. during the transition from 1st to 2nd gear the car shutters which indicates a transmission issue. i am worried the transmission will go out or cause me to wreck in the future. again, i do know that previous year cars of the same make and model have the same problem and were recalled.

Rough idling at stopping position, stalling, cutting off in traffic, check engine light, code p0507 idle air control valve throttle body. car cutting off in traffic while shifting down

The car shuddered and jerked when stopped and on acceleration from a stop. a metal grinding can be heard from the engine while driving during this jerking from acceleration. the car would lose power while driving. one time, the car stalled, resulting in lose of power, while i was turning left through an intersection. i have brought the car into the dealership for repair many times with no resolution of these symptoms.

I have brought this vehicle,or attempted to bring it,into the dealership service department multiple times for the shuddering, stalling, overheat for no reason with system shut off,etc . at take-off from driveway, highway metering lights, lighted signals,& stop signs the car(automatic transmission)will either shudder and bounce like a manual transmission not properly shifted or initially roll slightly and then stall as if in neutral.the rpms will rev, but the car will not move.i have narrowly missed many rear-end accidents.i have paid well over a thousand dollars just on rental car fees while not able to drive this car.the service department refused to give me an appointment or take it in for many months because according to them they did not have the required parts. on other attempts they would tell me they did not have the code pop up that anything was wrong. august 2017, after the dealership had my car for multiple days when promised back same or next day, they told me there was nothing wrong & i showed them a picture i took of the control panel, then they finally took it back to work on. i also had the check engine light on & shuddering immediately when picking it up from service.i was told there was nothing more they could do and they refused to put why i brought it in for in the work orders each time i brought it in.nov 7-dec 5 2017,they had the car for an entire month.service told the ford facilitator & me that there was nothing wrong with the car no shuddering, no sounds. after almost an entire month they suddenly decided the car needed a full brake job which did nothing for the shuddering/stalling.they also let the battery die.ford motor company refused buybacks because the work orders did not say why it was brought in. i told them i would have an accident. i was trying to leave my driveway. the car stalled and the front of my car was slammed into by an suv.

Since purchasing my 2015 ford focus brand new in july 2015, i was stonewalled by two dealerships over the clutch shuddering/jerking/jumping issue before a third dealership (in another state!) finally replaced it. shortly after i had a front cover oil leak that was repaired under warranty. then, one day i was driving and the lights on the visor and radio controls stopped working, they fixed most of it but the passenger visor light still doesn't work. shortly after that i started hearing a popping sound in the radio, then the radio stopped working completely. today as i was driving on the freeway on my way to work the transmission blew with no prior warning. i heard a loud noise, then the engine revved and the car slowed down. the check engine light started flashing and i was able to move to the shoulder of the highway. a puddle of transmission fluid was under the car after it was towed away.

Major transmission issues! warning & buyer beware: this vehicle is not safe to drive and has an open claim under the states lemon law policy. on 7/22/17 after multiple repairs as stated in this complaint, the vehicle propelled forward behind traffic on a major roadway at a railroad stop towards the gates with an oncoming train. reported the incident to ford and ford will not cover the repairs. the transmission needs to be replaced on this vehicle and has had multiple clutch replacements at ford. there have been approximately 18 service visits at the dealership since the delivery date of 12/15/15. onboard sync system- does not work properly after multiple repairs. ford service manager has warned that the transmission issues are not repairable and the issues will continue to occur despite clutch and transmission repairs.

Transmission loses power randomly. also, shifting is jumpy, when going from stop, at times. have contacted dealer and was told this was common of this particular transmission. this has happened more than once. i am just using today's date as one of many! started on the first day i had the car.

Recall nhtsa # 15v436 (ford recall #15c06) is on the c-max body control module. this has caused the entire car to not start. it was brought in for service 7/3/17 and i have no updates. the recall was issued 7/1/15 and the car, itself, was purchased the next 8/2015 so it was sold with a known recall and now, 2 years later, it's very concerning that a fix is still not readily available when brought it for service.

A/c not heating properly, dealer says can't find problem, i expect as much for warranty work. sounds like strange noises under dash.

Car hesitates and does not shift smoothly. take offs are dangerous because car shifts radically.

The trunk suspensions are not adequate and have allowed the trunk to close on the owners and family members numerous times causing abrasions and hematomas. the dealership service representatives were notified several times, here in kingman, az. vehicle was purchased, new in eugene, oregon and this problem was evident. "no corrections are available." why?

Takata recall my clutch was messed up in this car when i first leased it from us auto sales back in february 2017 and i had rental for a week only because the warranty covered it. now the clutch is messed again and i was told i'll have to pay $2000 for it to be fix! is there anyway you guys can recall my car because i don't have that kind of money to keep spending on this car because the same problem keep occurring. is always jerks and don't accelerate the speed of the car this always happens anywhere.

My car stalls shakes and studders when i accelerate, even after i turn the traction control off it continues ,i've nearly been rear ended plenty of times. i don't feel safe and either does my passengers as and i'm sure this jerking as and tire spinning will cause other problems.

The transmission jumps, jerks ...when i start to leave an area.feels like the transmission is slipping.!!. when i start the car to leave my driveway or everytime i leave an area, also at red lights, etc. its been this way every since i bought it but gillie hyde service dept (where i bought the car )said it was normal when i took it back.allthough i still have the car.very disappointed with this issue

Takata recall my transmission has been bad on my 2015 since i purchased it on 10/01/16. i tried telling the manufactures after i drove it around town awhile. it was jerking and wouldn't get power to drive. i've been trying to take it to dealerships for 2 years and they haven't tried fixing it. i would like an arbitration agreement.

The sunroof glass exploded, nothing hit it and there were no other vehicles nearby.

Acceleration issues up acceleration it feels as if the ford focus is struggling to accel with worries me since i just bought it no even a week ago. i think ford needs to check in to the multiple different issues being reported about these cars for being basically brand new i should not have issues on acceleration.

Have had my ford focus just over 2 months. when i bought it noticed that it seemed to hesitate with acceleration after i come to a complete stop. took it back to dealer they assured me that they reset my transmission and everything would be fine. it still has been doing it. have another appointment with dealership to see what my options are. it does well on the highway but on the street or regular traffic it does it every time. it bothers me because ive been almost hit a couple times because it shakes and then goes.

A common problem with the front grills coming loos and popping out when driving, creating a safety issue. while the grill is largely cosmetic if it falls out and is run over or hits another vehicle it can pose a safety risk. noticed this happening on my own car and googled it, hundreds of others have also reported the same issue, no recall or even tsb.

The clutch in the automatic transmission was switched out twice because of its defective performance. i took it back to the ford distributor, where it was purchased and cared for, the 3rd time and it was supposably attended to and corrected by rebooting the computer system. the car shutters and drives poorly. i purchased a brand new titanium, top dollar, and received a lemon that drives terribly. also, the usb plugs do not work. and have been attended to 3 times, with no avail. i have been told by the service manager, the general manager, and mechanic that the specific model is defective. that they just can't get the clutch right. and that it is a lemon. it is my right, as a consumer, who thought she was buying the best of america's cars, and paid full price, to be reimbursed and compensated.

After stopping to get gas on i-80 at a service area in indiana with the car in park and not running the engine caught on fire. the car is a new vehicle, still under warranty with about 5,000 miles on it. ford determined that the fire would not be covered by warranty. they offered no proof, and stated that we could not appeal the case.

I bought this car less than 6 mos. ago. it has had 2 recalls so far. the transmission has a problem. it jumps and acts like it is going to die. twice when i have started it there was a knocking like the engine had something wrong. when i changed the gear the knocking quit. when i run the heater there is a burning smell. i took it in and told them i was afraid to drive it and they did the recalls then told me they couldn't make it do the other things i had mentioned. i ask them to put me in something else and they said i would have to pay $400.00-$500.00 a month payment. i believe ford knew of this problem but continues to sell them so when people complain they can charge them more money. i am a 55 year old woman that drives 120 miles a day back and forth to work. when i get off work i drive home in the dark. i am afraid to drive this car!!! ford won't do anything about it! someone is going to get killed in this car because of the engine hesitation. i picked it up and now it is worse! when i turn the corner it does that jerking thing now like it is going to die. i hope you can help protect consumers . the jerking happens when you are driving, taking off and now even when you are turning. the knocking noise the first time was when i was backing up and the second time was when it was in park and i had just started it.

After 3 weeks of purchasing a new 2015, we experience severe transmission slipping and shuddering . steering column shake, shifts up and down forced and not accurate. sluggish performance to the point of being a severe safety hazard. help me. ford said it was my fault, refused to generate a work order. 2nd time dif dealer said it was normal go away no work order even. 3rd visit they said leave it for 30 days, i can't. they wouldn't give me a loaner.4 try they said don't know what u talking about. i need ford to buy this car back.help. i will give my car to nhtsa to verify and use free of charge. they can keep it.

My car shakes terribly when going into and out of first gear. transmission issue i assume. bought my car brand new with 2 miles on it in august of 2015. has been doing this ever since. i get my regular oil changes and drive normally

I was attempting to cross a busy highway. when i accelerated the gas pedal had to be pushed to the floor in order for the vehicle to respond almost causing me to be hit by oncoming traffic. this sluggishness continued as well as hard jolting forward shifts after initial acceleration and eventually a forward jerking loud downshift noise when stopping. these problems continued, vehicle was taken to dealership. they acknowledge it is a transmission problem but refuse to cover it.

My car jerks when trying to accelerate maybe transmission related . this has been been happening since i've had the car but never thought anything of it until i drove a friends car and it didn't do it

From the very first year that i bought this car, (2015) it has had multiple problems with it; it shakes, shutters, 9even at 40-50 mph) uses way too much gas, it had a badly corroded battery, the clutch and transmission both, had problems and recalls!! i was raised, believing that either ford or chevrolet, were the american cars to own; not anymore, customer service, after the sale, is a joke; both autonation's (850 n. burleson blvd, burleson, tx 76028 and the 5000 bryant irvin rd, 76132 locations are horrible!! after i pay this loser of a car off, i will never buy ford again!!!
