This was a recall already that is hazardous to all drivers on the road includong the driver. the car will stall, studder, and give no power when pulling off. i cant understand how something so dangerous that also cost me my life would have a limited warranty on a saftey recall. this should be a lifetime warranty on this. because they caim to fix the issue but if it continues to break down after 2 months 3 months. why is their a limited time frame on safety recall and the saftey of drivers and the owner.this has caused accident to others. because when a recall is done. you believe the issue is fixed. it should continue to have the same problem. then the limited warranty is up. now you're stuck with a safety hazardous car that is dangerous to put on the road. please help. i did stall on the road i had to get the car towed. i was stalled due to this recall. now it's happening about. drivers safety shouldnt have a limit this other incident occurred due to their warranty not holding up with keeping the roads safe. the same safety recall is now starting to cause road hazardous issues again that will be unsafe for the road and myself. the cars not even 10 years old.

My ford focus has been having electrical issues for several months now. i have asked ford to look at my car and they stated it will be $150 to do that. i do not have the money. my major concern is the air bags. my light has been coming off and on and i do not think the air bags will employ. i have seen several complaints on your web site and online as well. some cars have been in accidents and having the same issue and airbags did not employ. i am terrified this will happen and not save a life. i have an autistic 13 yr old that rides in the passenger side and myself are very concerned!. also i have been following online a big issue with the electrical in the middle isle which controls the radio and airbags and whatever other warning lights and controls may be. my radio shorted out with loud popping and srcreehing nose then blew out. i think the electrical is all bad in the unit which may be effecting the airbags. please i am asking for a very concerned safety concern to save a life regarding the airbags please look into a recall regarding this. i am not the first one tho complain about this. thank you very much. i do have pictures with the airbag light on and off. it is not a push button! i can send pictures if you need them. i am able to do currently. please let me know. please help

Tl* the contact owned a 2012 ford focus. while driving 25 mph, the power steering failed and the contact's daughter lost control of the vehicle. the vehicle crashed into a pole and the vehicle flipped over multiple times. the air bags did not deploy. the contact's daughter sustained neck pains that did not require medical attention. a police report was filed. the vehicle was towed and deemed totaled by the contact's insurance company. the dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. the cause of the failure was not determined. the failure mileage was unknown.

I was going 60 mph on a freeway in the far right lane when my car started to hydroplane across 5 lanes of traffic and i hit the center concrete barrier head on and then the force of the impact caused my car to spin around and then the rear of the car hit the barrier head on. not a single airbag deployed. not even the one in the steering wheel. i think there's something faulty with them but no one will take a look at it for me.

Before purchasing this vehicle that has a rebuilt title and the airbag light was illuminated, i had a diagnostic test performed by my local ford service dept. everything checked out fine with the exception of replacing the air bag. after the air bag was replaced (~$1000 later), they proceed to tell me that the airbag light is still on and the sensors need to be replaced and it will cost us another $2000. if this was known at the time of the diagnostic, we would have never made this purchase.

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford focus. the contact stated that the gear shifter failed to shift from park into reverse. the check engine indicator illuminated as the failure occurred. the contact turned off and restarted the vehicle multiple times before it was able to function normally. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and it was diagnosed that the power train control module relay needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing or repairs. on a different occasion, while driving 50 mph in the rain, the contact's vehicle hydroplaned and crashed into the preceding vehicle. the air bags did not deploy. a police report was filed and there were no injuries. the vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. the air bag failure was not diagnosed by a dealer. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 53,309.

Possible takata recall-dont know if this is a takata airbag-its a 2012 ford focus, there is no recall as of now, but my son bought car yesterday, was involved in accident today, car is in bad shape, he is ok, but no airbags deployed. a guy was issued a citation for making a left and not yielding, so my son swirved to miss him and his front and side of car were pretty bad damaged. he was going 30, slammed on breaks and skidded when they hit.

My son was stopped behind another stopped car on a 2 lane highway, as a car 2 in front of him was preparing to make a left turn. the person traveling behind my son, was looking into his rearview mirror at his children in the back seat and failed to stop. instead, at full speed (45-55mph) he rearended my son in the ford focus thereby pushing him into the car in front of him. no air bag deployed, and the seat belt failed to lock causing my son to plant his face in the steering wheel.

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford focus. while driving 25 mph, the contact rear ended another vehicle due to a water bottle that became lodged between the brake pedal and the floorboard. none of the air bags deployed in the vehicle. a police report was filed. the contact sustained an injury to the left arm due to the seat belt seizing upon impact on the contact's arm. medical attention was not required. the dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. the failure mileage was approximately 47,000.

Air bag light wont go off took to dealer charging 110.00 to check it seen many complaints about this.

Metal on airbag assembly/steering wheel cover cracking and peeling. causing multiple finger lacerations while driving.

I was in an accident yesterday where i rear ended a vehicle and it did significant damage to my car and the car in front of me and my airbags did not deploy. i hit my chest on the steering wheel becaue of the impact

Connector for airbags keep coming undone. we took in after seeing notification on dash showing airbag issue. paid 170 for them to put a new connector in. less than a year later it is loose again. we cannot keep paying $170 for them to fix this. the switch just hangs under the driver's seat and we have made a point of not putting anything under there in case this was the problem. i have seen online where airbags are not deploying. could be a faulty switch underneath causing this to happen. http://www.arfc.org/complaints/2012/ford/focus/air_bags/problem.aspx

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford focus. while driving 30 mph, the vehicle jerked, stalled, and the air bags inadvertently deployed without impact. the contact sustained head injuries that required medical attention. a police report was not filed. the vehicle was taken to a dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 61,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford focus. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v643000(latches/locks/linkages); however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the dealer confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. the manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. the contact had not experienced a failure. vin tool confirms parts not available.

Tanaka recall: i received a notification that my car was recalled due to defective tanaka air bags. i was told by the dealership (haldeman ford in allentown, pa) that i would be notified when they received the parts needed for the repair. periodically, i inquired at the dealership about the status of the repair, but was told each time that they still had not received the parts needed for the repair. i again inquired recently and was again told i would be notified when the required parts arrived at the dealership. it was one year and two months since i received the recall notification and still they say they don't have the parts. i have just been notified that tanaka was filing for bankruptcy. it now appears that the parts may never be available and i will be required to drive around with defective and dangerous airbags with no legal recourse to sue tanaka for damages. this is unacceptable. ford should take immediate steps to make the necessary repairs to protect the safety of its customers. please investigate this negligence on the part of ford and its dealerships.

I have a 2012 ford focus se the occupant classification sensor when out i feel that ford needs to look into this problem and i don't feel safe in it because when the dash light comes on it disables the whole system

Tl* takata recall. the contact owns a 2012 ford focus. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign numbers: 15v340000 (steering) and 17v024000 (air bags). the part to do the repair was unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the dealer was not contacted. the manufacturer was made aware of the issue and was not able to confirm when the parts would become available. the contact experienced a steering failure while driving 45 mph, in which the steering wheel seized without warning. the failure mileage was unknown. vin tool confirms parts not available.

Dashboard light indicates problem with passenger side airbag. company diagnostic indicates that a faulty sensor in seat buckle will prevent passenger side air bag from deploying upon impact. car blogs indicate this has been a safety concern in ford cars since 2003, yet ford refuses to address this life-threatening defect.

My daughter was involved in a head on collision. the airbag deployed but split open and she said it looked like smoke came out of it. also the seat belt did not lock on impact. she sustained minor injuries to her right arm and abdomen hips and back. the vehicle was in motion going 45 mph the other car was going 70 mph and it was on a city street.

I was having issues with the electrical problem the horn went out for a period of time also the radio is not workingas well as the airbags did not deploy when i was recently in a vehicle accident i am lucky to be alive.i was making a left hand turn onto a road and was hit from the side the impact was enough to make my engine dismount but my airbags did not deploy.

I was involved in an accident in february 2016 and my crash bar broke off and the airbag sensors broke off, so the airbags did not deploy on impact. the other car swerved to miss hitting my drivers side door and so i t-boned him and the airbags did not deploy. i was in the process of trying to turn to miss him.

On 10/23/2015 at 51,289 miles, i took the car in because the car intermitterly would not start & when taking off from 1st to 2nd gear, it was jerky. i would have to let off the gas. i also experienced a rubbing & scraping sound that i found out is what they said was the transmission clutch shuddering. the clutch & tcm (transmission control module) were replaced under the ford technical service bulletins tsb15-0120 & tsb-15-0121. on 10/12/2016 at 71,906 miles, i took the car back into the same local ford dealer for shuddering again. they replaced the clutch again & reprogrammed the pcm/tcm & preformed an adaptive learn procedure. i still experience a grinding sound mainly while turning, but have been assured that it is normal & not an issue. my most recent issue is my airbag light came on stationary (no flashing). i currently have less than 80,000 mile on the car. i took it into my local ford dealer & the car gave code dtc b00c2-11-ocsm (right front seatbelt retractor assembly shorted). it will cost over $700 to replace!!! i was told if i am in an accident where the airbags need to deploy, they will not deploy......none of them! less important problems i've experienced is the manual lumbar in the driver seat broke & the "beauty ring" around the headlight switch cracked. ford does not sell just that piece. you have to buy the whole cover that also goes around the air vent right above it even though they are separate pieces clipped together, which is $45.

I was driving to work at 0700. i went into a curve and the road was wet.i was going 57 mph in a 55 mph zone. i braked to late. i sled off the road and went airborne. from where i went airborne and to where i landed i went 293 ft. (per state trooper) they say i'm lucky to be alive. i flipped multiple times. there is damage all over the car. looking at the damage and how i went head first into the hillside causing the flip my airbags did not deploy. i hit a tree while i was in the air. my side airbags did not deploy either. i want to upload a picture but i see i'm unable to.

I rear ended someone yesterday, going 25mph. the person in front of me stopped and i was trying to find directions and did not see them stop. the front of the car is severely damaged, and i have whiplash pretty bad, but the air bags did not deploy.

An alert comes up on the dash board claiming that steering assist fault service required. it is very difficult to drive although the faster i go the easier it is to steer' bit turns remain difficult this started happening in 2015, powering off the car would temporarily fix it. the issue was intermittent but is now very consistent and happening every time i drive the car.

My daughter was driving the focus in menomenee wi, where she is in her masters program at stout university. she was heading south and the young man in the other vehicle was heading north, he turned left in front of her smashing her vehicle. his air bags went off ours did not. he was found to be at fault and a ticket was issued. i called ford about the air bags not deploying and they said they would look at it if i brought it in. i explained to him it wasn't drivable so he said i would have to pay myself to bring it in and have it looked at but i should be happy my daughter was not hurt more seriously. but i'm very concerned that not 1 of her air bags went off and they were not the least worried about it. the claims adjuster looked at the car and he said they should absolutely have deployed but nothing in the focus, but his went off and the focus was completely totaled in the accident but not his car. *tr

Tl* the contact owned a 2012 ford focus. the contact stated that the vehicle was involved in a crash and the air bags failed to deploy. the driver sustained a bruised shoulder, back, and internal injuries that required medical attention. a police report was filed. the vehicle was destroyed. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 25,000.

'information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford focus. the contact stated that while driving at approximately 50 mph, a deer jumped in front of the vehicle causing a crash. the air bags did not deploy. a police report was filed and there were no injuries reported. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 68,000.

Tl* the contact owned a 2012 ford focus. while driving approximately 45 mph, the contact crashed into another vehicle. the air bags failed to deploy. the contact sustained whiplash and minor bruises that required medical attention. the passenger sustained a concussion and fractured spine that required medical attention. a police report was filed. the vehicle was destroyed. the vin was not available. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 54,000.

I turned onto a two lane street (one lane in each direction). the oncoming traffic was stopped due a red light. an suv pulled out of a parking lot between two of the cars waiting for the light to turn green and tried to cut across my lane also, but hit my car instead. i drive a ford focus, a small car. i was hit on my driver's side front fender and door. the front driver's side fender and mirror were torn completely off of the car. the front driver's side tire was damaged, and something was bent, so that the tire could no longer be set in a straight position. the hood was bent, and the driver's side headlight was hanging from the car. the interior portion of the driver's side foot well caved inward and hit my legs. the driver's door was hit so hard that the door would not open, and i had to untangle my feet, and exit the car from the passenger side. my tiny car was hit by an suv that had "punched" the gas to try and cross in front of me- but hit my driver's side door instead. there was a great deal of damage done to my car, but my airbag never deployed. i've heard of airbags going off when someone barely hit something with their bumper, yet i got hit directly in my door, at a decent rate of speed by an automobile twice the size of mine, and my airbag did not deploy. not my front airbag, nor my side impact airbags. i have to believe this is some type of defect. *tr

Eastbound on us 62 highway in tahlequah, ok when a vehicle ran the red light at the intersection of south park hill road resulting in a collision. our focus was impacted on the right front and right rear. air bags did not deploy (neither front nor side). estimated speed at time of impact was 40 mph for our focus, 35 - 50 mph for the other vehicle. *tr

I was involved in a multi-car accident where my focus received rear, side, and front impact. none of the air bags deployed during this accident. the car is not able to be driven. i received a concussion and scrape on the head from hitting the side of the door frame (where the seat belt adjuster is located). this accident occurred on an interstate. i was traveling on the interstate with my cruise set at 68 mph when a car 4 cars ahead of me abruptly stopped in the left lane. the 3 cars in front of me ended up colliding. i slowed to almost a stop and drove onto the shoulder to avoid the car directly in front of me when i was hit from behind. the car that hit me was traveling at aprx 50-60 mph. my focus was pushed into the grassy median, colliding along the way with 2 of other vehicles involved. very concerned that none of the air bags deployed. *tr

Front end collision at approximately 35 mph. driver and sole occupant of the vehicle hit head during the incident resulting in a concussion. driver was transported via ambulance as a precaution. vehicle was totaled as a result of the collision. mileage was 39040 at the time of the incident. *tr

Front end collision at 45 miles per hour and driver airbag did not deploy. *tr

Air bag light: our car was parked, and got hit by another car. this damaged the frame, but the air bag light went off and the air bags didn't engage. after the mechanic fixed our car the air bag light won't go off, and the dealership hasn't been able to clear it out. we have asked multiple times for them to fix it, and they say they don't know what's wrong. i don't know if my air bags will work, and they don't know what's wrong. i have had this problem for 5 years now, and every time i bring my car in the dealership ignores the air bag light.

Chrome plating is peeling away from steering wheel air bag edges. edges are sharp and can cut through skin. could be possible to puncture airbag? *tr

The chrome trim on my steering wheel has begun to crack and flake off. i did not notice at first and had my finger run along it. the trim is cracked medal and is very sharp. i have not yet cut myself enough to draw blood but have stuck, stabbed, and caught my finger on it embedding a piece of chrome trim in my finger like a sliver. this is a widespread issue documented on multiple focus forums, and by other 2012+ ford focus owners. this seems to only be an issue that is on 2012+ se sport packages. this is very frustrating, it makes driving the car difficult because in my case it is right above my steering wheel mounted radio buttons and catches my hand easily. ford is doing nothing about this in my case and actually blaming me for it, but in other cases has both replaced other owners pieces and in some cases like mine done nothing. this is very dangerous as many people in the forums have stated they cut themselves good enough to bleed. one even said his wife now refuses to drive the car. ford refuses to fix this because it would require them to warranty an airbag since they decided to make the airbag and trim one piece. because of this myself and others will continue to cut our fingers, hopefully not very seriously. thank you for reading this. *tr

The car has more than three major recalls .and ford don't have the parts for repairs.. airbags , electronic clutch. and some other problems with no part s coming in!!!!! car has not been repaired.l have taken it in four time and told the parts are just coming in.temp repairs i am so so very tried of this! i have been a ower of 4 new fords cars. and a customer for ford & gmc not again.

I was driving a nearly brand new 2012 ford focus at approximately 45-50 mph when collided with another car traveling at least equivalent if not higher speed. i saw the other car attempting pulling in front of me after failing to stop at a stop sign and i tried to stop the car by braking, but the car was not able to slow down or stop in time. i t-boned the other car and my car was dragged by the other car and rested on the side of the road. as a result, my car was totaled. on the police report, the police indicated the crash was moderate. the water pump, bumper and other stuff came off the car, but the airbags were never deployed. i sustained head and cervical spinal injuries. *tr

I was leave an appointment when i came to a stop sign at an intersection. i stopped short of the faded white line on the road but a little past the position in which the stop sign was posted so i assumed i would be good to go from this spot. i then looked both ways did not see any on coming traffic from either direction so i proceeded to cross the intersection. it wasn't until i was have way into the road that i even notice the other driver coming at me and by that time it was to late any neither myself or the other driver were able to avoid the collision. the other drivers car the stuck my in the rear passenger completely destroying it and spinning me out of the road in the direction of a light pole which i was unable to avoid or stop short of due to the fact that i had lost power to the vehicles controls. my final stopping position was a few feet away from the pole after it ripped that section of front bumper apart and i bounced of the front driver side tire. no airbags deployed neither the side nor front. *tr

In june 2012, my daughter was driving and her front passenger tire exploded. this was the 3rd set of new tires we had placed on this vehicle (by 30,000 miles - averaging 10,000 miles per set of tires). then in july 2012, she was driving home and started to skid. she was not able to recover from the skid and hit a tree head-on. the front of her car was destroyed. the tree centered her car and the front end looked like a volkswagen bug. the air bags did not deploy. we had this vehicle into the dealership 3 times for problems with the front end. each time they said they could not find anything wrong with it. however, the driver and passengers could feel the car sway when riding it in. the vehicle was totaled by the insurance company ($17,000 check sent to ford) and we still owe $1700 that we have agreed to pay to ford to keep from ruining our credit. thank god she was wearing a seat belt that actually worked - otherwise we would have had to plan our daughters funeral. we purchased this car because it was advertised as being a very safe car with the interior wrapped in air bags. wrapping the interior with air bags does not help if they do not work. i have been buying ford automobiles for 30 years but, right now i am wondering how safe my ford f-150 is. we are now considering hiring an attorney. *tr

New titanium model focus ... air bag light starting coming on while driving the car down the road ... this happened on several occasions, until finally the light came on an stayed on. dealer has had the car for 7 days now and still unable to fix the issue. *tt

I don't know if my ford focus 2012 is included in the tamara airbag recall or not. my clutch has been replaced several times due to sudden acceleration when stopped or slowing down.: it's the powershift transmission. my door latches were replaced per ford recall. new rear engine main seal replaced 7/12/17. vehicle has only 32,746 miles on it. tires already had to be replaced.

Hit deer on major highway coming home from work. front airbag did not deploy. when taken to body shop, after careful examination,it was determined by the ford dealer that the airbag sensors were not on the vehicle, dealer cannot explain why airbag did not deploy when there was approximately $10,0000.00 damage to the front end from said collision. dealer reports that the wiring harness that controlled the airbag needed to be replaced due to damage from the accident. minor injuries were sustained from the accident. *tr
