The car rolls forward/backward when in park. the car shudders and shakes when you take off or when you slow down and the accelerate. i have had the clutch worked, replaced and had the replacement's software updated. it behaves like it did when it needed to be replaced the first time. i was told this was normal and i was told to drive the car like i stole it when taking off and accelerating. i speak the truth when i tell you that....exact words...drive it like i stole it. i have modified my driving habits but it has not helped and i feel those habits are dangerous. the passenger side window has in intermittent problem where it will not roll up when rolled down. the door latch may take up to six months to be fixed due to lack of parts and the clutch still stutters and shudders around corners and slow speed take offs. updated 12/29/16. *jb

While the vehicle was parked, the rear window shattered with a small explosive sound. the car had been parked for 20 minutes. after unloading, my husband pressed the lock button on his key and seconds latter the window shattered. this included all the edge pieces around the window. there was no evidence that anything was thrown at the window and no chips in the window before this happened. there was heavy rain and we had been running the rear window defogger on the way home. *tr

My rear windshield exploded. it was parked. the car was running, i closed the driver door and the windshield shattered. it was made by carlite. ford is not showing any concern, nor the dealership. it's a very expensive fix and makes it worse that it shattered on its own. ford has had a bad rap with glass for a long time though, just wish i would have known about it before now. they want a car payment every month but don't want to take responsibility for a poor quality department. i am not sure what a person is suppose to do anymore. if you don't have a savings it's down to either paying for the car that now has no rear windshield or get a windshield. don't want to turn it into insurance, rates will go up for something i didn't cause and its a 500 dollar deductible. i will never buy a ford again nor any vehicle that has carlite glass. *tr

Sunroof exploded while driving. i took car to ford and the service manager said he seen it happen before but i was told it was not covered under warranty. i saw a few complaints in google blogs. i will contact a lawyer. *tr

Transmission was shifting poorly, then like an engine miss, power loss, step on gas it slowed down, turned corner at intersection and almost didn't make it thru intersection. very light foot on the accelerator would allow it to gain speed. missed 1st gear on stop at stopsign, took off in 2nd or 3rd (automatic)/ check engine light was on until i got home, shut it off. started back up and ran fairly well to dealership. this is second time in a week i've had to dealer. they did a tsb electric reset of shift points and said it was all related. i was charged for that even tho there was a tsb performed. also my rf window motor is out. it was rarely used as i commute about 55 miles a day solo. *tr

Water pouring in from sunroof my son said it happens every time it rains. *tr

The rear window shattered while the vehicle was parked. i believe it was from the cold weather after using the rear defrost. *tr

The window on passenger side front will go down but will not go up with control on door. it will go up with control on drivers door most of the time. *tr

It was 5:00 a.m i was driving to work on i215 freeway. there was no road construction, no other vehicles around me and i heard and felt what i thought was a gunshot, however, it wasn't. the 2012 sunroof exploded up. thank goodness there wasn't any other traffic! i continued driving to work and as soon as the sun came up i took pictures and immediately call the rental company. they told me they had never heard of this before and to bring it back. when i took it back later in the afternoon, they supposedly called the manufacturer and i was told i would be responsible. it obviously was a defect of the 2012 ford focus and i am not going to pay. today i received an invoice from them. i am contacting a lawyer as well as a local news reporter. *tr

I was driving and heard many strange noises coming from the roof of the car. when i slid open the sunroof hatch i saw the sky through a hole in the sunroof and shattered glass. when i arrived to my destination i inspected the hole from the outside and noticed that the sunroof glass broke in an upward manner. (if it had been hit with a rock or something i assume it would have broken downwards & would have found the object) it looked as if the glass exploded. the remaining glass still in the sunroof is bubbled and barely staying in tact. i commute to work via public transportation and the sunroof had not been used in months. *tr

2012 ford focus. consumer writes in regards to engine, transmission, drive shaft and electrical system problems. *tgw the consumer stated the vehicle would jerk forward, hesitate and would not go into gear fast enough when changing lanes. the right passenger power window was slower that the driver's side, the door locks would not open properly. updated 05/25/12

My back windshield imploded when i got into my car and closed the door. i leased this car on aug 30, 2011 and the mileage is about 7000 miles. ford said they would not warranty this replacement glass as there were external causes. i have a witness that states when i closed the door, the back windshield turned grey, and imploded. according to my warranty, p.13, this should be covered in first 12 months/12,000 miles, no matter the reason. the car was parked in a lot, no indication of anything untoward happening to it. *tr

The windshield in my car has distortions in it. some are vertical, some are horizontal. the ford dealer and ford corporate customer service have both told me that this is standard for this model. since all models have it, there is no windshield with which it can be replaced. i think it's a safety issue because looking through the windshield distorts what i see outside. i'd like nhtsa to look into it. *tr
