While attempting to stop the vehicle, the throttle stuck open and the engine ran over 2,000 rpm. it was difficult to stop and almost caused the car to rear end stopped traffic. *tr
When slowing down (coasting or breaking) the accelerator hangs. it will hold at a constant rpm (between 2500 and 4000, different each time) i have to put the car in neutral and depress the throttle all the way several times. i checked the throttle cable and there is still tension on it so it is not mechanical between the pedal and the throttle body. almost seems like a neutral sensor. *tr
The accelerator on my 2007 ford focus station wagon with 50,000 miles began sticking when the temperature goes below 40. i press on the pedal and it won't move, then it jumps down and moves quickly. according to the ford dealer, an electronic piece, the throttle body failed. according to them, ford is not manufacturing that part and the car can not be repaired until they find a new supplier, possibly end of january. it has been sitting at the dealership since dec 6 with a sticking accelerator and is not now currently safe to drive or fixable. *tr
Something in the car makes a squeaky noise air conditioner gave out. *tr
Got home from work and key is stuck in ignition of 2007 ford focus! car will still crank and drive but the key will not come out! shifter will also shift into any gear in the "off" position and without foot on brake! ............... second complaint is that since purchasing the car new in january 2008 when i fill gas tank the gauge only goes to about 3/4 mark... never the "full" line. dealership replaced gage once a few months after purchasing but it still does it! *tr
While driving around down town los angeles the 2007 ford focus the right front tire went flat then the engine stalled. when i attempted to restart smoke was coming from under the hood. when we got out of the car flames were coming from the windshield wipers area. 911 was called and the fire department came and put out the fire. the insurance company is going to appraise the damage on wednesday 3-3-2010. but i am pretty sure that is a total loss. *tr
On or about 7/10/2007, my 2007 ford focus zx3 (one week in service, 400 miles odometer) leaked an unknown quantity of fuel onto the floor of the attached enclosed garage at my residence. the quantity of fuel spillage is unknown; however, the fumes were so strong inside the garage, that they contaminated my clothing to the degree that a "gas smell" was noted by a tow truck drive three hours after i was exposed to the fuel spill. the servicing dealer say that the fuel tank was split along the seam of the tank. the servicing dealer is in the process of replacing the gas tank. *tr
This car is going back for 3rd time for a fuel leak . the fuel leaks out of the return line and drips on to the exhaus. t i guess fords is waiting till it causes a fire before they fix this. i think there should be a recall to check the rest of these car. i know of 4 other people who have had the same problem. *ak
