Problems with 2000 Ford Focus AIR BAGS

I skidded into the car in front of me with minimal force. there was no damage to the car i hit. there was minimal damage to my car, (small scratch on the front bumper and a headlight needed to be realigned) except both of the front air bags deployed and the front passenger seatbelt locked (there was no one in the passenger seat).. *ak

Faulty airbag deployment in rear end collision at 10 mph. driver and passenger airbags deployed, shattering windshield. also, driver suffers 2nd and 3rd degree burns from airbag.

At the end of february i was involved in an accident due to the steering locking up my ford has never ran the same since our local ford dealer sent a mechanic out to do a report on my vehicle and nothing was ever resolved now i am stuck with this car that seems to be the next ford joke. i have made several complaints since the accident and thanks to a possible steering knuckle problem in which was worked on previously to the accident it looks like ford really should consider selling to a reputable company.

Front air bags did not deploy. i was rear-ended and pushed into a toyota landcruiser and my car has 4,000 worth of damage to the front and rear bumpers.*ak

The key switch keeps locking up and you can not turn the key. it has to be taken to the dealer or shop for repair. this has happened 5 times and the dealer covered the first 2, and i paid for the next 3.

While driving down the road, suddenly, there was a loud boom, followed by the airbags deploying & the wind shield shattering. i stopped the car, placed it in park, turned off the engine & yelled at my children to jump out of the car. a gentleman, driving behind me stopped, looked at the car & called 911. he then proceeded to start the car back up & drive it to the side of the road. after the police came, checked the road & filled out the report, i then turned the car around & drove it back to my girlfriend's house & parked it. the next day, i drove it to my aunt's house & parked it in her driveway until monday when it was towed to the dealership ( where it is still located ) there was no car in front of me when this incident happened, & there is no damage to the body of the car. *nlm

When the driver applied the brakes the drivers side air bag deployed. *nlm, returned usps, 2nd attempt made 06/14/07 failed. *lj

Consumer states that while driving at 40 mph vehicle was in a collision. consumer states that both of the front air bags did not deploy.*ak

I have had a terrible experience at stan morri ford in tracy, ca and thought others should know of my plight (and perhaps this would make a compelling consumer affairs story). a few weeks ago, i was commuting in my 2000 ford focus on i580 when, for no reason, the driver's side airbag deployed violently. i was thrown from the driver's side to the passenger's side of the car, the car filled with smoke and i was "moved" across two lanes of traffic to land in a shallow ditch just east of the santa rita road exit. after regaining my composure and counting my blessings my wife and children were not in the car, i waited for the smoke to clear and finished my drive home, shaken, confused and very rattled. upon my arrival home, i contacted my insurance company (aaa) and stan morri ford. aaa opened a claim, but could do nothing as there had been no real accident. gary riggs (service manager at stan morri ford) asked me to come in. over the past two weeks, stan morri ford (in conjunction with ford corporate) has investigated the issue. their findings, based on data from the on-board computer, was that the car had been "involved in a lateral collision" and both ford motor company and stan morri ford have denied any responsibility and refuse to help me. pictures taken by myself and aaa clearly show no damage to the car. over the past four years, i have purchased four different cars from stan morri ford. as a loyal ford customer, i would have expected better treatment. i am not one of those "sue-happy" people. i explained to everyone involved that i simply wanted out of the car, as it was not safe; i would never have my kids or wife in there again. even in the face of the confirmed problems and various recalls on the focus, they will still not assist me. Inappropriate deployment of air bags-low speed bump causes airbags to deploy with massive damage to windshield and dashboard, no body damage. *jb

The brakes have been looked at three time because of noise and it's been serviced several times. it's in service right now and has been there for two weeks. i don't know if they are working on it or if they are repairing other things or what. i haven't had heat throughout the coldest part of the winter. the seat belts don't work and the paint is peeling. the car has locked up not letting me start the engine twice, then just out of the blue it decided to start. i tried to turn in and the car dealer at ford said he wouldn't touch it, didn't want it. we bought it aug. 9 2000-ford credit, simple interest 6.5 --first payment september $456.99 a month they say we owe too much to trade in ???this made no since. now i know what's been going on. my husband has been out to sea usnavy for almost a year and i'm scared to drive it i'm a nervous wreck about this car and i don't know what to do. there has been is so many recalls on this car i don't know if they have fixed them or not

This car has more recalls than i ever seen. the air bags deployed and gave me second degree burns. the brakes are shot and i have to pay for repairs even though i only have 29,940 miles. the keyless entry does not work even though its been fixed 2 times the ignition locked up and they change it the air conditioner leaks but they say its fine. mr

In frontal collision the air bags did deploy on impact, but liquid from air bags burned driver so badly that driver was hospitalized.*ak *jg

while driving at 30 mph vehicle in front came to a sudden stop without warning and consumer rear ended other driver. both passenger's side and driver's side airbags deployed. chemicals that came out of airbag sent passengers to hospital with serious burns to face. consumer was very concerned about this chemical. please provide any further information.*ak

While traveling on highway frontal air bag deployed during a collison, in which the airbag burned consumer's arm.*ak *jb

Vehicle has been given consumer trouble since purchasing it. 2nd day after purchase vehicle was in dealer's shop for 2 weeks. when putting on brakes vehicle shakes. also, driver cannot see to make turns because truck is very high.*ak while driving, the consumer and his daughter were hurt due to brakes and wipers failed in the rain. the rear window is very high and the driver was unable to see vehicles from behind. brakes failed more than three times, however the dealer refused to fix it after the first repair there were 2 injuries, consumer also states the airbags failed. *yh

My original complaint was for # 760238. there was a fire in that car. it is listed in your defect investigations as no fire, but--there was. it is terrible that a big corporation like ford can not take responsibility for their actions on this matter.
