The sync system stopped working and unable to find the error or issues. searched internet and appears to be common issue with vehicle. the radio would make a glitching sound and then continue to play until it completely stopped about 5 weeks ago. the vehicle was parked and when attempting to start car the radio was dead
While driving, the car just stops. no power, cannot turn wheel, gas nor brake pedal works. have to restart by pushing ignition button. this has happened a few times already and is a major safety issue.
Takata recall , i took my car to mel hambelton ford, for a vehicle health inspection and never was informed about the fsa title sync with myford mylincoln tough wzarranty extension covering accessory protocol interface module apim , but was under primary concerns diag. and replace apim for blank screen, yet when i get on ford pass i learn of this issue, never the dealer that sold my the car or the ford dealership offer to assist me are checked the recalls on this vehicle12/13/18
2013 ford flex - door sensor keeps thinking it is open. it prevents us from locking the doors, both parked and in motion. it allows our children to open the door while in motion because the doors will not latch. issue is still occurring. it started a month ago (start of november 2018), however now does it every time we are getting into or out of the vehicle. issue while driving: when the sensor is sensing the door as "open", the lights in the vehicle stay on for over 3 miles of driving before they will turn off - day or night causing a back light (glare) issue during night time driving. issue while stopped, both sitting in and outside of the vehicle: the lights do not turn off and runs down the battery of my vehicle. i timed the lights after getting home and at 30 minutes i stopped the timer - as it was too cold to continue. i had to shut the door 12 times before the sensor finally sensed a "closed" door and shut the lights off.
The rear passenger doors are shut all the way, but the car senses them as open and keeps the interior lights on with a door ajar warning on the dashboard. there was a tsb performed on my car for this issue, but the issue has returned. it is an intermittent issue. i have to try opening and closing the door to get it to show as shut. it can cause the car alarm to go off at times. the warning can come on while i'm driving, long after i shut the door.
2 issues 1) the front passenger door though closed is read as a warning "door ajar". the warning stays on at all times. it drains the battery and i have replaced the battery once since owning the 2013 ford flex when purchased in 2016 with just under 20,000 miles on it. the interior lights stay on from starting the engine until accelerated speed. the interior lights after parked stay on for a minimum of 30 minutes though it could be longer contributing to draining the vehicle battery. 2) the vehicle began to feel as if it is pulled while in commute. not starting right away or shuts down/stalls. it has stalled and not turned over though the lights and radio work. fortunately this has happened after being parked in my parking spot. it will not turn over, but the next morning it will start. after reading about similar issues for other ford flex vehicles last week with my vehicle doing the above action i replaced the fuel pump relay module. which is located in the rear passenger area between rear passenger door and furthest rear window where the seat belt pulls from i felt i had resolved the issue. however, a week exactly later i attempted to start my vehicle when the exact scenario happened all over again. vehicle would not start, but lights and radio worked. left alone overnight i went to start it this morning and it starts. through out the duration of this issue of stalling, not starting, pulling while in motion as it feels like the vehicle is being jerked there is no check engine light or when checking system the only warning is passenger seat ajar.
The door ajar light come on the dash even though all doors are closed. the door unlocks after locking due to the car thinking the door is open. this is the front passenger door. the light will randomly go off and on without even touching the door.this also cause the interior lights to come on which is not safe when driving at night.
Door lock sensors. door lock sensors failing to recognize when the doors are shut so constantly showing doors ajar. this has drained my battery to the point where it needed to be replaced. door sensor was replaced also. the cost of this was approximately $500. now two more sensors are bad. i leave my house before sunrise. when i get in my car in the morning my interior lights will not go off until my vehicle reaches an accelerated speed. so i am pulling out of my driveway unable to see due to interior lights hoping that my neighbors who run are not behind my vehicle or the children at the bus stop across the street are clear from my vehicle. additionally, my elderly mother has gotten into my car and forgotten to shut her passenger side door. after driving for fifteen minutes, i realized that in fact her door was open butthe sensor always shows it as open. i now am faced with spending another $700+ to have the sensors replaced. this puts my total investment in sensor replacement at over $1200. this is almost one of my paychecks or two weeks worth of pay! it is a sacrifice i have to make as ford has produced a defective and unsafe product. i can no longer knowingly put my family and those around me at risk although ford will not accept responsibility for their product.
I have a 2013 ford flex and the doors always say they are open even thought they are closed. it causes me not to be able to lock my doors, the dome light to stay on which is very dangerous when reversing at night out of a parking spot, and i believe it's unsafe being that i have children and i can't know whether or not the doors are closed accurately. i've contacted ford several times and get the run around. the dome light will stay on until i've hit 10mph. reversing with a bright dome light on is very dangerous. i've also had to replace my battery several times because the light stays on.
Passenger door sensor is only working half of the time. the door is closed but the alarm shows the door as opened. opening and closing the door again and again will eventually work to register the door as closed. this is a safety concern as i am never really sure if the door is closed. when the door is shown as open the interior lights remain on.
Both of the tail lights have water intrusion about 3 0z of water within the chamber. i have replaced lights several times.shortening out which has caused a problem with safety and traffic violations.
The vehicle incorrectly believes the doors are open when they are shut. this prevents the doors from locking at all speeds, which is an unsafe condition. if an occupant tries to lock the doors while the vehicle is in motion, the vehicle immediately unlocks the doors. the issue also causes the interior lights to stay illuminated while the vehicle is parked and until the vehicle reaches an appropriate speed when in use. the open/closed state of the door changes at random (without the actual door being opened or closed) and causes the alarm to randomly go off when the vehicle is parked. the combination of the lights staying illuminated and the alarm going off when the vehicle is parked drained and ruined the battery in the vehicle. jump starting the vehicle did not work and the battery had to be replaced.
When stationary and parked, the door ajar error message appears on the dash for the driver's door after entering the vehicle. this produces error messages on the screen, turns on the interior lights, and prevents the doors from being locked. after repeatedly opening and slamming the door shut multiple times the message may or may not go away. if slamming the door shut multiple times does not work the messages, lights, and inability to lock the doors continues while in motion.
2013 ford flex se purchased in december 2012 with 60,000 miles is experiencing front and rear passenger door latching problems. the front passenger door 'door ajar' light is triggered after the door has been closed. when this problem began, opening and closing the door would be enough to engage the sensor but over the past month it has not been effective. this is a problem for a few reasons: first, it does not automatically lock the doors when the car is in motion which is a potential safety hazard under normal driving conditions or if the vehicle was to be in an accident. the door could possibly fly open during a collision leaving the passengers vulnerable to being thrown from the vehicle or objects coming into the vehicle. second, the cabin light remains on while driving which creates a glare on the windshield making it impossible to see outside the vehicle. third, the cabin lights stay on after the vehicle is locked which causes an unwarranted strain on the vehicle battery. as for the back right passenger door, it is not latching. i fear that at anytime the door may come unlatched while driving. if this problem continues and the door does not latch, the vehicle will be inoperable. since my warranty expired and there are no recalls, i am expected to pay the price to maintain door latches on a vehicle.
1. driver and passenger side door sensor/latch/electrical malfunction. door is ajar warning does not turn off. doors cannot lock when driving. major safety issue for kids in back seats. alarm goes off anytime randomly. drains battery and affects electrical system. faulty back up camera. 2. water pump failure under engine. covered by 6yr/60k warranty, failed at 62k miles. replacement cost is an extreme high cost of $2700.
The door sensors keeped on indicating that the door was open when it was close. numerous complaints online about the same issue. i had to replace all four doors sensors.
Passenger and rear passenger door ajar switches keep coming on. the doors will not lock when vehicle is in motion. also when you lock the door after using the vehicle the lights inside the vehicle stay on.
As i'm driving the check engine light turns on and it slows down my car to two miles per hour once i turn it back off and back on it starts working again but as soon as i drive for a couple of miles or not even a couple of minutes the light comes back on and my car go straight to driving to miles per hour i want to know what could be wrong with this and why is it doing it
Vehicle is not getting any gas do to faulty fuel pump, alarm keeps going off, third time replacing latch, one twice,
Unable to lock back hatch without alarm going off at random hours. have to manually lock doors. this seems to be related to door ajar warnings for both driver side door and passenger side door. unsafe due to intruders being able to access car. children and other occupants could be vulnerable to carjacking. could also result in loss of personal property.
Dome light will not turn off, causing drain on battery, unsafe driving conditions at night. this seems to be an escalation of door ajar warnings for both driver side door and passenger side door. have already had to replace battery.
I placed the suv in park, turned it off (the car was stationary). as i leaned on the vehicle to get out of it, i notice it rolled back. because it was unusual, i push on the car frame to ensure everything was okay. when i pushed the vehicle, it continued to roll out of my garage. i had to run and jump in the car, restart it, and put in in the park position again. this caused great concern for me because my small children were in the car. after this occurred, i called ford to report it. recently, i've done research and realized that some of the 2012-2014 ford flex vehicles were recalled due to this problem. http://fox6now.com/2014/08/14/ford-recall-your-car-could-roll-away-even-if-its-parked/. when i called ford to report, i specifically asked them did they have any knowledge of the vehicle being in park but disengaging and rolling and the response i received was no. the person suggested i put the emergency brake on until i could figure out what was wrong. this seems to have not been the truth as there was a recall for this problem in 2014. although my vehicle was not included in that recall, i am having that problem.
Car alarm went off for no reason at 5:30 am in driveway. neighbors are complaining about the noise.
Had to replace battery due to door ajar warnings causing lights to stay on inside car. this also causes warnings about engine on with associated dinging of the warning bells. very distracting.
Door ajar warning for both driver's side and passenger side doors are on all of the time, even when doors are closed. this causes the inside lights to stay on. alarm goes off for no reason. dangerous conditions because when inside lights stay on at night, cannot see when backing up. the computer warning bell dings when coming to a stop and says engine is on. the doors will not lock automatically when you are in the car. this is definitely a safety issue. why are other ford models recalled for this, while the flex is not? the flex needs to be added to this recall.
The vehicle was stationary, would not turn over to start. it would stall. lights and electrical would come on. this has happened three times. its a concern and safety issue with the fuel pump as believed by the reference of this site recall.
Upon entering and starting vehicle displays door ajar when it is clearly closed and locked. requires several hard closes of the door to deactivate sensor. also randomly triggers car alarm. appears to work properly in cooler weather. dealer recommends a door latch replacement for an estimated of $500
Faulty door sensors. door ajar light is constantly on even when door is shut. makes it hard to drive at night as the dome light remains on for minutes after driving making reducing visibility while driving. with the door ajar light constantly on, makes it difficult to determine whether the door is open or closed. due to the door ajar light, the dome light constantly remains causing excessive wear on the battery. fixed one sensor already, now another door sensor is causing the problem, along with my trunk sensor malfunctioning every time i hit any little bump. the lights come on as soon as we start the car, whether moving or parked.
Door ajar sensor on back door is always on. anti theft alarm randomly sounds.
My vehicle's "door ajar" sensor will not turn off even when all doors are securely closed. this is resulting in my lights staying on for a very long time and the worst thing is that my doors won't stay locked at anytime. what's happening now is that when i lock the doors after exiting the car, the alarm will go off after a certain period of time, therefore, i have to leave the car unlocked or keep an ear out for it. i have tried manually locking the doors while i'm driving and the door locks will automatically unlock themselves. i don't feel safe knowing that someone could just jump in my car or open one of my back doors where my two children sit. i'm also fearful of my battery dying as a direct result of my dome lights staying on for such a long time every single day. i'm dreading the thought of this happening while with my kids and being left stranded. i wish ford would take this issue more serious. there is absolutely no need for something tragic to happen in order for corrective action to be taken.
The door ajar sensor stays on even after the door is shut. two doors have had this issue repaired already in the past, now a previously repaired door and another door are coming up on the dash screen as door ajar. this causes the interior dome lights to come on, which drains the battery and the alarm to randomly go off at night while the alarm is set and the door "opens and closes" as the car car is thinking is happening without disarming first. the dome light also stays on for about 30 seconds while driving, which is distracting at night. the doors will no longer automatically lock while driving either since the car thinks the doors are open. this seems to be a common issue that needs to be addressed beyond ford.
I am having multiple problems with this vehicle! first and most important is door latches are not reading closed which disallows safety lock during operation of the vehicle. i also believe this might be the reason the alarm/panic randomly and quite often goes off. secondly the third row seats no longer operate correctly from the panel in the rear cargo area. it clicks and try's to move but will always return to the normal position making it impossible to use them to allow extra storage space. lastly the traction assist is very erratic when driving in snow which makes this vehicle less then desirable to drive in the snow, even with the control assist off it handles very poorly in icy/snowy conditions. overall i hate this car if i wasn't upside down in it would be gone asap.
Have replaced 3 of 4 door latches. faulty latches shows the door is ajar, keeps the interior light illuminated, won't allow the doors to be locked while car is in motion, car alarm cannot be set, car alarm goes off randomly,.
Due to a faulty door sensor on my front door indicates that the door is ajar, i am unable to lock my car doors as a result. my 3 year old daughter opened the door while the vehicle was moving and almost fell out.
Several door latch sensors malfunctioning. they state "door ajar" when doors are closed. prevents doors from locking while operating vehicle.
2013 ford focus titanium which has a broken pawl spring tab, which typically results in a condition where the door will not latch. i was driving down the road as my driver side front door opened and i was unable to shut my door. i have filed a complaint with ford corporate, peoria ford, jones ford, national highway safety administration, contacted a local news reporter who did an article on the same car as mine which ford ended up paying for after the article was made public, better business bureau, and several other reports made. i have a claim with ford corporate however they are denying any internal assistance for fixing this repair due to it being a defective part however not included in the recall currently as 2013 ford fusion and 2013 ford fiesta is being listed with the same exact problem. i have been told that to get this fixed i should have had the extended warranty or would have to pay between $500 to $600 to get this defective part fixed or risk injury due to the door not being secured properly. the dealership tried to force me to sign a waiver stating that ford was not liable if anything should happen while driving my car which i refused to sign. this needs to be fixed and if / when something happens as a result of this issue ford will be held responsible for more then just the defective part.
The sensor on the passage side front door, is saying ( passage side door ajar. i tried closing the door several times, but it still says passage side door ajar!
Twice the door ajar light was stuck on. the first time it was the passenger rear door and was fixed under warranty. the second time it was the passenger front door that i had to pay for at my ford dealer this past august to the tune of $ 280.00. both times the interior light stayed on and also the car alarm would start itself. now i was told by my mechanic that my battery is shot. i wonder why? i also own a 2013 c-max part of the latch recall.
Door ajar alarm is on with door shut. which will not allow doors to lock, being a major safety problem when you have childern. also causes the interior light to stay on, which is not good on the battery.
Door ajar sensor on passenger door will not reset. even when the door is closed properly.
Rear door sensors do not confirm that the rear doors are closed and will not signal doors to lock when vehicle is in gear, creating the potential for a door to be opened inadvertently while in motion. also related, because the doors are constantly reading ajar, the interior courtesy lights will come on with the doors shut and will run down the battery. ford has not made a repair available
Door sensor working intermittently on passenger side. especially when cold outside, passenger door is closed but car thinks it is open, will not allow automatically locking of doors, which represents a safety hazard. doors can be locked manually but all doors remain unlocked or spring unlocked when "door lock" switch is pressed.
The door ajar light comes on for the driver's door even when the door is shut. all times of day, all weather. will turn on while car is in motion. will prevent electric start from working, will prevent doors from locking automatically, will cause interior lights to stay on. we have found hundreds of posts about the same problem. this problem was already noted on other ford models and a recall was issued. the same problem is on this car. there is a plastic latch in the door which is enabled when the door is shut but because the tolerances are off on the receiving latch the system believes the door is open even when it is properly closed. the dealership is willing to fix the problem... for $500. this is a known problem on other ford models using the same parts. the recall should include all cars with this system.
Takata recall ,door latch on driver door is failing, door ajar comes on the dash and keeps the dome lights on, issue will occur before and after the vehicle starts moving.
The car started smoking from the engine compartment which the battery was leaking acid from the terminal. this happened while in motion and stationary. the dealership said it was not covered under extended warranty which i thought i was given bumper to bumper warranty. passenger door sensor may be the cause. from no clear connection.
Our ford vehicle has a broken door latch that has not been included in the recall. our door ajar light is constantly on and we never know if our door is safely closed or not. thus far, all ford representatives have not been helpful. the dealership said it's the same problem and to contact customer service. customer service just told me that if my vehicle isn't recalled then i should fix it and keep my receipt. i find it hard to believe that it's a coincidence that my vehicle has the same problem as over a million+ other ford vehicles. what steps do i take to get my vehicle added to the recall? this started months ago (probably almost a year ago) we thought maybe a sensor was off but the problem kept getting worse and once a recall was issued the problem made sense. can you please help me?
Door latch assembly and sensor. i have replace 2 already within 1 yr and now needing to replace another one. this is ridiculous. i am out of warranty because of my miles not because of the year of the vehicle.
Recently, when driving car suddenly feels as though it shifts to neutral, while driving down a busy highway. i coasted to a parking lot off of the service road, turned car off and restarted. this has happened at least twice lately. for months i have dealt with doors showing ajar, even when closed. inside lights stay on... and alarm sounds often. first it was the passenger door, now the driver door and right rear passenger door constantly say ajar. alarm sounds in the middle of the night. it has become necessary to disconnect battery cable every night in order for this not to happen. recently had to purchase new battery. passenger door was repaired at no cost to me... but dealerships want to charge me $1000 to repair door latches on driver door and rear passenger door, which on a 2013 vehicle is ridiculous. this obviously is an ongoing issue that needs to be addressed by ford... and soon!
Door latch false sensor. car does not properly register my passenger door as closed. as a result, my automatic lock system does not work and i start out driving with my inside lights on. safety concern given hat i live in the city. also, this issue has caused my parked car alarm to falsely go off and drained my battery. i had to pay $300 for a new battery when the cause is a manufacturer error that i've complained about for over a year and have now been advised that i must pay over $300 to repair.
The door ajar sensor always thinks the door is ajar. this means the doors won't lock when the car is running, and the dome light stays on when driving. it can also cause the alarm to go off if the car is locked.
