Problems with 2012 Ford Fiesta ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

On average, the 2012 Ford Fiesta starts to “feel” problems with the ELECTRICAL SYSTEM and its various aspects after 64 733 miles.

Components Affected by ELECTRICAL SYSTEM Issues

We have classified the 48 complaints from 2012 Ford Fiesta about ELECTRICAL SYSTEM into the following categories.

Recently reported ELECTRICAL SYSTEM problems on 2012 Ford Fiesta

My 2012 ford fiesta has no filtration system to prevent salt and moisture from getting into the engine fuse box. last year, a mechanic rewired the fuse box low beam relay to a different fuse, now the corrosion has started up again. this forces me to use my high beams until i have to replace the whole fuse box, which is expensive and causes me to be unsafe until i fix the problem. i've seen other instances of this online.

Due to the poor design of the fuse box located in the engine compartment, the relay (r11) responsible for switching on & off the low-beam headlights has corroded to the point that one of the pins is stuck in the fuse box & is flush with the surface of the box. initially, this started with intermittent headlight failure--sometimes at startup & other times while driving at night or during inclement weather. the corrosion was missed when i took the car to a ford dealership. now, the low beams do not work at all due to the complete corrosion of the pin. this has lead to several unsafe situations. i have not been able to see & other cars have not been able to see me when my headlights stop working. i've had to drive with hazards instead of headlights at night to ensure others could see me while i moved my car from the highway to a safe parking spot. i nearly hit a deer i was unable to see due to my headlights going out while driving. from what i understand, this make & model has been recalled in canada because they recognize the significant safety issue present. i don't understand why it is not recognized in the united states.

The exact time of the incident is unknown. i had not driven my car at night for at least two weeks before i tried to turn on my low beam head lights when i was parked in a friend's driveway at night. my car's low-beam headlights did not turn on. upon further inspection it was discovered that the light bulbs were undamaged, but the relay had become corroded. when the relay was removed the corroded prong broke off (or otherwise remained) in the fuse box. now there is no way to replace the relay, because of the prong in the fuse box. my low beams do not work. my turn signals and my high beams still function, but it is not safe to drive at night with only high beams. so, this is a safety issue. below is a picture of the corroded relay prong in the fuse box. the prong is blue/green and is located in the upper left hand of the picture. recently in canada, there was a recall for the same problem for similar ford fiestas.

Ford fiesta 2012 has several problems with the transmission, first the car jerks around and makes a horrible noises. then the car shuts off randomly while driving. this car is a safety hazard. stalling and jerking around is not what a car should do. plus both backseat latches both broke and the doors were unable to close.

Due to moisture and debris getting into the fuse box under the hood of the vehicle, the relay for the low beam headlights has corroded and one of the pins is corroded into the fuse box. this has left me without the use of my low beam headlights. i have contacted ford us and was told there was nothing they could do. the repair for this issue will cost approximately $1500 from the dealer for parts and labor without any solution to the sealing of the fuse box. when i called ford us customer service and requested to speak with a supervisor regarding the issue, they hung up on my. this problem has been ongoing with 2011-2013 ford fiestas. this is a safety concern as the headlights just quiet working. this fuse box also controls various other critical components of the vehicle and is tied into the main wiring harness. the corrosion issues can also affect those systems as well.

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford fiesta. while driving approximately 25-30 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. the contact was able to restart the vehicle; however, the failure recurred. the vehicle was taken to winner ford (250 haddonfield-berlin rd, cherry hill, nj 08034, (856) 428-4000) to be diagnosed, but the mechanic was unable to retrieve a fault code or duplicate the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the contact stated that the failure recurred four times. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 90,000. *as

I was driving down a city street in my friend's 2012 ford fiesta i noticed a weird smell, i kept going about a quarter of a mile til i reached my destination. my friend gets in the car he noticed the smell . i looked out the windshield and i see a lil smoke coming from the hood, all the sudden alot of smoke comes out . i pop the hood shut the car off and get out of there . my friend runs and grabs fire extinguishers him and another man try to open the hood it won't open you could see the flames coming underneath the car then there is a pop . they take a shovel beat on it enough to open it enough where they could put the fire out. thank god they were there,no one got hurt. i am enclosing pictures of my car, my friend didn't have full coverage insurance so he's without a car right now . all this happened within 10 min.it was very scarey, i'm glad i stopped at my friend's place because i might not have made it out in time.we didn't make a police report nor did we call the fire department .a piece of the car was laying on the ground after the fire.the hood release burned . that's why we couldn't get the hood open . i am sending pictures after the fire . the car lights and the security system still works and it started right after, we turned it off right away

After tune up, air mass sensor, camshaft sensor, and crank shaft sensor, oil change , car engine blight remains on, and when air conditioning is turned on car loses power to the point it stall and breaks lock and will roll out of control

On 6/16/19 i was driving on the i89 in vermont and both of my headlights went out on the interstate. this scared me as i had no visibility on the interstate. my high beams were able to work, and eventually, i turned by low beams back on. they seemed to work. they then cut out again. this happened off and on for the rest of my drive home. luckily i was able to make it back home. i took my car to the ford dealership the next day. today 6/19/19 they reported that there was corrosion in my fuse box, and they reported the cheapest option was $500 to clean the box, and replace the pins. i asked them what would stop the corrosion, they said there was no guarantee that the corrosion would stop. when i looked online it appears that several other people have had issues with this same problem. http://www.carproblemzoo.com/ford/fiesta/headlights-problems.php so it is only a matter of time before someone driving a ford fiesta gets into a car accident because there headlights suddenly stop working on them.

I have a 2012 ford fiesta which has had nothing but problems over the course of the time i've had the car. on the thursday before the memorial day weekend i put the car into reverse and the car wouldn't stop. we were going very slow and thank goodness didn't hit anything. we hit a curb behind us that stopped the car. i shifted into drive and it moved forward. we took it into the dealership that next morning and they replaced the brake master cylinder and the clutch. i've done multiple warranty claims & i've had ongoing trans/clutch issues that finally resulted with as replacement last month. now the car is no longer jerking and slipping but it's slower with decreased gas mileage. i've had a sync issue/ radio electrical issue and took it in multiple times, it's still not fixed. recently the radio/sync completely fails but it's intermittent. now i'm being told that because the sync/radio issue is intermittent, i have to wait until it's not working completely to take it in. in the last 6 weeks the car has been in twice for brake issues, (i took it back twice in the same day + trans replacement) then again two weeks later. i'm on the third time to the dealership over the sync system in the last year, that is still not fixed.

Recently my fiesta has been shutting off while driving. it is a manual transmission and i am not stalling. it happens most often while driving at low speeds or switching gears. it is very dangerous and scary.

Door latches to not work when i was drivin my left door in the back open wide had one accident of it

I have performed routine maintenance on my car for years. the other day the headlights stopped working suddenly and without warning. the issue ended up being in the fuse box under the hood, which is allowing salt and sand to enter the fuse box without any filtration system of any sort. the low beam relay had completely corroded because of particles getting into the fuse box. we are lucky it is just the lights so far, but unfortunately one of the prongs for the relay was so corroded that it broke off inside the plug. now, because of ford's poor design of this device, we have to replace the whole fuse box and everything to which it is attached. this is at least a $1300 job. this could have been a different relay that controls a more essential function of the car but thank goodness we found it when it was affecting the headlights only.

Electrical short of powertrain control module

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford fiesta. while the vehicle was idling at a red light with the brake pedal depressed, it spontaneously accelerated. there were no warning indicators illuminated. the contact had to turn the vehicle off in order to stop. the vehicle was driven to the contact's residence and then towed the following day to automax ford (3301 e central texas expressway, killeen, tx 76543) where the total control module was reprogrammed. the contact also stated that the failure occurred two other times since july of 2018. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and filed case number: cas-15591505. the approximate failure mileage was 46,000.

When: on july 31st 2018 during drive home after dark on rural wisconsin highway both low beam headlights simultaneously failed in 2012 ford fiesta leaving driver no option but to use high beams for remainder of drive. fault: the loss of both low beam headlights simultaneously created a dangerous situation for a driver, and oncoming drivers on rural highways. cause: dealership identified the source of the problem; due to relay pins in fuse box corroded off due to corrosion ' had to replace engine fuse box under hood because the pin was corroded off in the fuse box and could not be removed. additional fuse relays also showing corrosion. ford has issued the following for the 2011 ford fiestas which is related to corrosion and loss of exterior lighting. unfortunately, nothing is being done currently for model year 2012 fiestas. customer satisfaction program 17b16 ' battery junction box clean and seal ' 2011 ford fiesta https://ford.oemdtc.com/3241/customer-satisfaction-program-17b16-battery-junction-box-clean-and-seal-2011-ford-fiesta and also, ford has issued recall 17s14 for (2011 ford fiesta) the same issue of corrosion and loss of electrical connectivity for wiring circuits which may make a vehicle less visible to approaching drives which may increase the risk of a crash. in canada, accumulation of dust deposits which contain deicing salts in the provinces included in this recall that can cause corrosion of fuse and wiring terminals in the battery junction box that may result in the loss of electrical connectivity in some wiring circuits. it is ridiculous for a 6 year old vehicle to lose both headlights due to electrical, and corrosion issues! the repair was close to 1,500.

The fuse box is getting moisture causing headlights not to work properly and no fuses or relays can be changed because they are corroded in the box. car loses power, radio caught fire, doors lock on there own or don't lock at all, major malfunction of all electrical components. 2011 and 2013 were recalled for this issue. why wasn't 2012? car has issues while driving and it's going to cause an accident if not taken care of.

Lost power while driving, problem occurred 4 times in the span of driving 10 miles, struggled to get home. occurred while on freeway, at red light, and high speed or slow speed did not matter. car would ding the alert sound, several warning lights would flash, and i would be immediately be forced to coast to the side of road each time. three instances posed serious risk to others as my car lost momentum before safely making it off the road, and other cars had to move around my car. problem matches the manufacturer communication below from 2015, which means this has been a long term design flaw. this needs to be marked as a safety recall. nhtsa id number: 10058725 manufacturer communication number: sb-15b22 summary on certain vehicles, transmission control module (tcm) had developed electrical circuit failures, resulting in an intermittent transmission engagement loss while driving or a lack of power or no start and software needs to be replaced

At first the radio would make a loud pop and then would stop working. if you shut car off the radio would come back on. it did this randomly for a month. the next month the radio would make ear piercing burst of sounds while radio was playing then radio shut offf. the ear piercing sound would literally scare the bejeebers out of you. the loud crazy blasts from the radio could definitely cause you to have a accident since it just happen randomly an very unexpectedly. now my radio will not come on at all but the speakers still make noises with the radio off even with the car off with no keys in the car. it has came on so much it is running my battery down. today i pulled the radio fuse to hopefully keep my battery from dieing. the radio noises happen at all times driving, stationary and while car was turned off.

I purchased the vehicle pre-owned, 55,000 miles. the car drove fine for 3 weeks and after that would shudder when speeding up. now just three days ago, onjuly 1, 2017, my vehicle would not start at all. the alternator still has power and we have checked relays and fuses and jumped the battery but the car still will not start at all. i turn the key and it makes a clicking noise in my instrument panel and the needles on the panel start flickering. i was able to start it once but the vehicle showed that there was an engine malfunction to service now.

Ford fiesta, 2012 are not worth anyone's money. the moment i got it, the a/c would not blow anything out, my car would stop at stop signs and in the middle of the road when not in motion and trying to pass traffic, which is completely life threatening. it has a bunch of electrical issues and will start flashing (the warning signs) and then stop randomly. it is jerking at almost all times and shuts off a ton, i have gotten it checked multiple times and spent more than i can afford. this vehicle is ridiculous and i intend to tell everyone i know!!! i am always scared when driving my own car that i spent thousands on, ford needs to figure this out

Vehicle was stuck in park and could not be shifted into other gears. this occurred after driving the vehicle and shifting into park. once in park it could not be shifted to any other gear. the car could be started and turned off while in park. all other aspects of the vehicle seemed to be okay. could be an issue with the interlock mechanism, but needed a new shifter assembly.

2012 fiesta will just turn off while driving, it does not matter what type of weather, driving uphill or in regular traffic at a stop. car is beginning to have problems in traffic and the stopping occurs more during stop and go type of driving. when this happens the engine goes out; light comes on then the ignition switch goes out and sometimes i can restart it and sometimes the signal will turn off everything completely, leaving me stranded in the middle of traffic or in the parking lot of a store;if i'm lucky. recently it stopped on my mother and had to be towed home. this failure has happened in the middle of intersections, on the freeway or just driving through town. the car will shutter sometimes before it shuts off, or just starts to stall. when this happens i am unable to move to the shoulder or pull off the road to restart the car. this failure of the car just stopping while running has a potential of causing an auto accident. this failure happens at any time and cannot be predicted. driving unsure what may happen. currently it is sitting in my drive way it wouldn't restart and i had to pay a towing fee. need to have it fixed now! am losing time and money with no transportation. this is a ford misstep and i shouldn't have to pay for a recurring event with this vehicle. have been driving this vehicle with the stalling and stopping and didn't think much of it, but recently am starting to get the behavior that many other vehicle owners are reporting with the complete stopping anywhere or any time; so i know it is a manufacturer's problem and it's beginning to affect me. i need this issue resolved now. you want the public to drive and use american made products i choose ford and i'm expecting ford to keep their manufacturing promise to me. "go further is our global brand promise ". really! ford come get my car and fix it!

Takata recall...had radio and speakers replaced but speakers still make popping noise even when car is off, as i open doors or trunk i still hear speakers pop, car was in my driveway with windows down and still hear speakers popping as if it was popcorn in microwave

Radio randomly popped and hissed for 3 weeks, had to shut car off and restart to get radio working again. radio started popping and squeeilng with no keys in ignition and then finally quit. radio will turn on but no music can be played through speakers.

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford fiesta. while driving at various speeds, the vehicle experienced loss of power and vibrated abnormally. when the accelerator pedal was depressed, the vehicle failed to respond. the vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. the contact was informed that the transmission control module and software needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired per service bulletin number: tsb-15b22 (electrical system, power train); however, the failure recurred. the manufacturer was notified. the approximate failure mileage was 98,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford fiesta. the contact stated that the vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign number: 15v246000 (latches/locks/linkages) and repaired; however, the door ajar warning light remained illuminated. the dealer repaired the vehicle again, but the failure recurred. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure who informed the contact that the repair parts were on back order. the failure mileage was 64,979.

I purchased this car from a used dealer in jan. 2016 not knowing that there was an issue with the transmission (they won't even take it back). this car cuts off in traffic it has been in the shop more than i have had it and now the dealer is refusing to work on it. i have on several occasions tried to trade it but because of the transmission issue no one will trade it. i have tried to get ford to buy it back and they won't i do not feel safe driving this car they knew there was/is an issue and they are refusing to repair. i am left to pay for a car that i can drive for fear of it cutting off in traffic and causing a serious accident and hurting or killing me or someone else. ford cooperation is sending me to ford dealers that want to sell me new cars i can't afford i am disabled with a limited amount of income. please anything you can do to help me will be greatly appreciated i have the service tickets for every time it has been in for repair. this is my second complaint to your organization and i have not received a response i complained when i first got the car.

2012 ford fiesta fails to turn on at random times. lights from the control panel to the headlights continually blink and turn off while driving. this evening while driving down a busy highway, i made a right turn and the transmission locked up and i could not accelerate or move the car to safety until turning the car on and off again. also, a few days after i bought the car, the back right door opened while i was driving with my 10 yr old son in the backseat. ford dealership fixed the door issue but the power and transmission issues are still going on after ford checked the car and stated it was fine in my service paperwork. the car is clearly not fine.

Radiator ac condenser cooling fan will short out and catch fire without warning. extensive damage..

Sunday (6/14/15) evening i was unable to close my rear passenger car door which made it impossible to lock my car. this problem caused the interior lights to stay on. i could not leave an unlocked car parked on the street overnight and was also worried it would cause my battery to die, so i drove it to the dealership to drop it off. as i drove, the door continued to fly open. i felt very unsafe with the interior light glaring and the door flying open. the dealership called monday to say they would order the parts from ford right away. when the dealership called on tuesday (6/16/15) to tell me the car would be ready wednesday (6/17/15), i asked if all four latches are being replaced. the dealership said they would only replace the one door latch. i mentioned the letter released by nhtsa, ford motor company, and other press releases and how it stated that dealers should replace all four door latches with an improved part. the dealership told me they were only authorized to fix the defective door and the other three latches are fine. i asked if the part they were going to install was an improved part or the same part for the door latch. they could not tell me and told me to call ford customer care if i want more information. i pressed the issue and after a phone calls to ford customer care, the ford service representative, and the ford service manager, the dealership agreed to look into whether they think the other three latches should be fixed. they are also agreed to check to see if they followed the correct protocol to fix the one door at my insistence since the dealership mentioned they had not received the protocol yet on how to fix this door latch issue. i am waiting to see what happens next. my car is currently at the dealership. *tr...updated 07/30/15 *bf updated 10/23/2017*cn

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford fiesta. after the contact parked the vehicle, he heard an abnormal booming static noise coming from the speakers. once the vehicle was started and before shifting into gear, the static noise was still audible. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the radio module needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 66,000.

On april 6, 2015 my rear passenger suddenly stopped working. i had just arrived at my destination, was there for a few minutes, and then started my car up. the light alerting me that i had a door ajar came on. i figured it was my drivers side front door and reopened and closed it again. i noticed that my display said that the rear passenger doors side was ajar. i thought odd because nobody uses my doors. i got out, and tried to close the door only to have to bounce back at me. the door would not latch closed. fortunately, a friend was able to loan me a bungee cable to hold my door closed. it is currently secured with rope and the bungee cable. on the 21st, as i was making a u-turn in a residential area, my driver's side passenger flew open. at the same time my drivers side door started to unlatch as well, terrifying me and resulting in a minor collision. i managed to get my drivers side latched again, but now i have to have all of my door secured, i bought this car brand new from the dealership. a brand new 2012 ford fiesta failing in early 2015. in addition to my door problems, my model had a recall notice for i believe some transmission problems. my car was violently shuddering, cutting out/turning itself off, etc. this occurred when i was at a red light, while driving, reversing, etc. i took it in to have the problem fixed and it is still occurring. i'll try to give the car some gas and it'll shudder and die, i had to replace my car battery because it kept getting drained which did not help the problem, trying to reverse while always result in my car cutting off unless i hit the gas, and it seems it doesn't shift gears correctly. as i said before, i bought this car brand new. i am honestly scared for my safety. i can no longer driver my cat which is utterly unacceptable. i refuse to risk my life. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford fiesta. the contact stated that the check engine light and the power steering light illuminated on the instrument panel. the vehicle was taken to the dealer. the technician diagnosed that the battery needed to be replaced. the technician reset the system and the steering resumed normal operation. the failure mileage was 100,793.

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford fiesta. the contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would shake and shudder. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the clutch needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired, however the failure recurred. the vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the clutch and catalytic converter needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired, however the failure recurred a second time. the vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the vehicle needed a software update. the vehicle was repaired. however, the contact stated that the vehicle began to exhibit the same failure shortly after that repair. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 53,000.

While the car was in motion, the door open light and the interior car lights turned on, then i immediately noticed that the back door behind the passenger's side opened by itself. i stopped and tried to close it and it would not shut or lock. the passenger at the time had to hold the door until we got to our destination. real hazard to the cars that were right by mine and my passengers. it was scary to think of all the things that could have gone wrong because the latch suddenly failed out of nowhere. called ford and it's a more than $300 fee to fix the latch system on that door and the service clerk told me that this is something that happens. this does not make sense. if ford knows this, why aren't they doing anything? never before have i heard of a latch breaking while a car is in motion, specially when my car's back doors are almost never used and my car is still relatively new. i don't want to think that this might happen with any of my other car doors as well. this conveniently happened when my car's warranty expired. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford fiesta. the contact stated that while driving at 50 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 77,000.

Around 11/16/14 i was on interstate i-35 south and i was exiting and the rear driver side door opened up as i was slowing down at around 50 mph i then pulled over and the door would not close so i had to drive home that way. *tr

Key would not turn the ignition switch. the tow truck driver could not get the key to turn the ignition, he also could not get the brake-shift interlock override to work and could not get the car out of park. ended up damaging the front bumper trying to hook-up to the front from the side and eventually towed it from behind with dollies. the ignition switch had to be replaced, the brake-shift interlock override still does not function. *tr

While trying to close the front passage door, the electrical door lock actuator fail to engage. i tried to close the door several times but couldn't . i tried to active the automatic door lock system on the dash broad but couldn't and the system displayed passage front door open. i contacted the dealer and they stated "i should have this fixed" and suggested to keep the door closed with a rope or bungee cord, which is unlawful in this state. i'm thank full this happen while the car was parked, but what if i was driving and the door disengaged causing an accident or hitting a person, object or another car. food company should look into the cause for the malfunction of the electrical door lock actuator. *tr

The vehicle had an abnormal idle while at a stop, and would sometimes stall. upon acceleration the vehicle would hesitate and jerk forward. i took the vehicle to the dealership to rectify the issue. i was told that the mechanic cleared the code for the check engine light, but the internal wiring harness needed to be replaced, on a car that was a little over 2 years old. the internal wiring harness was not covered under any type of warranty. the repair was completed at a cost to me of $245.99. less than 2 months later, the vehicle was having the same issues, abnormal idle, stalling, and hesitant and jerky accelerating. again, i took the car back to the dealership for repair. this time the dealership replaced the transmission and clutch front seals, input seals, and axles seals, changed transmission fluid, added 2 quarts of transmission dual clutch transmission fluid. this repair was covered under the ford 5 year, 60,000 mile power train warranty. about 5 weeks later i was still having the same issues, abnormal idle, hesitant and jerky acceleration. again, i took my car to the dealership. this time i was told that the throttle body was bad and needed to be replaced. with no choice, i need to get to work, i told them to go ahead with the repair which once again was not covered under any type of warranty. the total for this repair cost me $720.26. in less than 3 years i have had to go to the dealership for major repairs 3 times and spent just under $1,000, plus the inconvenience of rental cars, days off of work, and the general annoyance of knowing my new vehicle has major mechanical issues. *tr

The problem, or i should say 'the jam' as in door jamb, is that both side rear passenger doors on my 2012 ford fiesta are not working on the close. the doors won't stay closed or stay shut. when you try shutting either door it just bounces back out a little. neither door will latch closed. only 35,772 miles on my 2012 fiesta when both rear passenger side door latches failed within 12 hours of each other. is both doors failing at the same time just a coincidence? i think not. i think defective and dangerous! my fiesta has never been involved in an accident, no body damage, no evidence of attempted break-ins and no apparent reason to cause 1, let alone both, rear passenger side door latches to malfunction and prevent closing of the rear side doors. and, absolutely no warning or indication of any looming or pending problem with the operation of either door nor my fingers, hands, wrists or arms? although i do get a bout-of-gout in my knee occasionally. i just opened each door normally to find it broken upon shutting. what i find extremely strange, and at this time still unexplained by anyone, is that both doors failed within 12 hours of each other in exactly the same manor. seems like too much to be a coincidence, doesn't it. read all info about the faulty door latches @ www.finley.tv. *tr

I bought my 2012 ford fiesta during may 2014 with 23,279 miles on it. it has given me nothing but problems ever since i bought it. problems i have experienced are: intermittent shuddering when taking off, loss of power when accelerating, jerking and hesitation when accelerating and electrical issues affecting the radio. i have nearly gotten into multiple accidents due to the loss and hesitation during acceleration, especially when passing cars on highways and pulling out into intersections. i have brought it back multiple times to be fixed and the only thing that has been fixed is the intermittent shuddering due to a new clutch they put in. i am still experiencing loss of power when accelerating, along with jerking and hesitation when accelerating and electrical issues affecting the radio. i dont know what to do as i keep bringing the car back without getting it returned fixed. i do not feel safe in this car, as i fear for my life along with the lives of others on the road. however it is the only car i have.

Have had car towed to dealer once and jumped twice since spring of this year. i was told i don't use it enough! i go out about every other day. what if i went on vacation for a month? would i not be able to depend on my car when i returned? today, the light is on again! i was driving it on sunday, today is thursday! once it wouldn't start after i stopped at a stop sign. luckily i was in a mall parking lot on the way to a very busy highway. have had fords all my life..would hate to stop now!! please look into this.i didn't write down the dates. the dealer would have them along with the company that does the free towing for 3 years. *tr

I have a 2012 ford fiesta and my trunk recently started opening up on it's own. the car can be on or off, stationary or in motion, and the trunk will just pop open on its own. i first noticed that the button to open the trunk would not engage when i pressed on it to open the trunk, and i had to use the button on the key to open the trunk, and then it just started popping open on its own. if i am sitting in the car i can hear it click and then the trunk opens up. *tr

Car started to jerk while trying to accelerate. and car started to turn off at red lights. and need to be started up again to get going . *tr

Ford sync module stopped working and when you prompt the system to go into mobile apps sync responds "no mobile apps found." took to ford dealer and after days of troubleshooting got the module replaced. 2 days later it failed again. its not my phone. phone works just fine in exact same vehicle on lot. *tt

While driving the vehicle, driver was entering the freeway, the vehicle shifted through all the gears rapidly leaving the vehicle moving at ~40 - 45mph and not speeding up. the acceleration pedal was to the floor and the care didn't increase in speed and was almost rear ended because all other drivers on the road way were moving at ~60mph. the driver then let off the accelerator and pressed down again the vehicle then revved real high then shifted very hard and shook throwing the passengers forward and back causing a whip-lash type of movement among passengers. the vehicle often grinds while shifting and decelerating. owner took the vehicle to dealership and the service department hours later called to report the vehicle is driving as expected and no issues with the vehicle and that the grinding gears was expected. *tr

Vehicle has a powershift automatic transmission that acts like a manual: roll back assist not working properly: vehicle jerking: vehicle lurching at stops: 2nd incident may 2013: same issues added car losing power: november 2014: same issues: transmission drivability issues: roll back issues loss of power issues. march 2015, all same issues: all issues and check engine light on this last time due to transmission circut issue reported continue to fix transmission: continues to break down. the vehcile has never ran "good" always transmission issues: loud noises, car losing power while driving, lurching at stops accelerating at stops, no response to acceleration. four times in three years in for fixes that do not work. car is unsafe as the loss of power is now more frequent.
