While driving the expressway at ~4:00am through downtown detroit my vehicle lost all power to accelerate. there were no instrument indicators, but the transmission would not respond to accelerator pedal compression. fortunately, there was lighter than usual traffic at the time, but normally it would have been very difficult to safely move a disabled vehicle from the extreme left to the right side shoulder without engine/transmission control. the vehicle is currently at a fmc dealership awaiting inspection/repair. i submit this report because i feel, based on numerous other reports i've read, that the fiesta may be a safety concern. *tr

Took car in to dealership for oil change, tire rotation, etc. and was told it had an oil leak and that they wouldn't fix it (it's still under warranty) until the leak became worse! *tr

When stopped and take off again, the car does not want to move. it jerks, jumps and does not want to move. it also does this when driving down the street. it acts like it is going to quit but just keeps on jerking and jumping. this is very annoying and am told there is no fix. this has been going on for way too long. i have had it at jim o'neil ford and bill collins ford, and neither fixed it. then i started taking it to oxmoor ford. they have been really good at trying to find and fix the problem. they have adjusted something, worked on something else but being a lady have no idea even if they told me would not know. this last time it was in there they ordered a new clutch and it has been almost 3 weeks and they have not received it yet. sure hope this fixes the problem. i am afraid that i am going to either get killed or hurt seriously due to this car not moving like a normal car and just jerking along. i have sent two notices to ford motor company via their web site and have not heard anything from them. this really disappoints me because i worked there for 37 years in louisville. the above box asking for the speed, it occurs when taking off or driving 55 mph. *tr

22 days plus additional 6 days: told by ford dealership mechanic that oil pan is leaking oil, and water pump leaking. dye pen fluorescent light inspection shows front crank seal leak, inspection of engine block damaged threads. replaced engine per ford, removed transmission from engine, disassemble engine from engine mount, mount new short block and install, reseal components, re-time engine, install engine to transmission assembly, rechecked for leaks coolant and oil. ford fiesta broke down next day after i picked up car from ford shop for 22 days, automatic transmission would not go into drive, reverse or neutral, called tow truck for help to get vehicle back to ford mechanic, who still working on car. i am very disappointed with the quality of the 2011 ford fiesta, doesn't get 40mpg, gets 35mpg, does not accelerate when you need to kind of lags, then makes gurgling noise in the water pump. 2011 ford fiesta is not made in the usa and it shows, it's a lemon. *tr
