Car shudders excessively on acceleration. will also lurch forward during acceleration. grinding noises when car is on low speed (1-20 mph). rear taillights stopped working without warning.
When i purchased my vehicle new i had several problems with the transmission. after several trips to joe cotton ford in carol stream, il there was no remedy besides removing the cables from the battery to reset the vehicle's computer. on september of this year i received a letter from ford motor co. to advise that they need to do a software update due to a tcm circuit failure. i took my vehicle to friendly ford 333 e irving park, roselle, il, on monday november 11, 2019, so they can rectify the problem. prior to taking my vehicle to the dealership i removed the battery cables. apparently the dealership was not able to install the new software. the service advisor advised me that the card code reader was not able to identify the error message and they had to charge me. my vehicle was at the dealership for several days and they loaned me a car while it was in service. i was charged $199.00 for them to look at the problem and since they could not update the software i had to pay the bill. i called ford motor co. for assistance and the agent told me that there was little they can do since the dealership is a franchise. this is unjust that i was charged for something i was advised that would be free of charge. i hope to be reimbursed.
No matter whether from dead stop or trying to open it up on the freeway, the vehicle still hesitates. you really have to be extra careful if you are pulling out into traffic and/or an on ramp.
While driving on highway the transmission bucks and shudders at times ! the tcm has been replaced twice and reprogrammed 3 times! same with transmissions clutch! car doesn't get enough acceleration going up hill either. this does this every time i drive ! it's having a hard time finding what gear to go in !
This vehicle is giving me a delay of about 10 seconds or more before to start. to start this vehicle, i have to put the ignition on on position, then wait until i hear a noise from the engine compartment before i turn the ignition key over to start the vehicle. otherwise, she will not start, nor the speed lever will move from parking to reverse. i called the dealer mc mahon ford in norwalk ct and explained to them the symptoms for the car, they told me that these ford fiesta and fusion are known to have transmission issues.
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fiesta. while driving at any speed, the brakes squeaked, the steering lost power, and the check engine indicator illuminated. the vehicle was taken to friendly kia (877-544-6719, located at 5819 us-19, new port richey, fl 34652) where it was determined that the failure was due to humidity. the vehicle was then taken to ford of port richey (727-233-7143, located at 10715 us-19, port richey, fl 34668) where it was diagnosed that the brakes, transmission, and battery needed to be replaced. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the dealer. the vehicle was repaired. the failure mileage was approximately 14,000.
My vehicle shifted out of gear in a dangerous area on the highway and i was nearly hit by another vehicle as my car slowed. i had to pull off the side of the road where i restarted the car only for it to engage "limp mode" which wasn't enough power to get me off the highway safely.
The transmission shudders increasingly and had a loud grinding noise and was stalling so bad at take off. the engine would rev up but accelerating slow, then it will jerk into gear.
Tl* the contact owned a 2011 ford fiesta. while driving 35 mph, the vehicle jerked, hesitated, and stalled. all the instrument cluster warning indicators were illuminated on the instrument panel. also, the "brake not pushed" message was displayed. the vehicle was taken to north east ford (182 route 44 east, millerton, ny 12546, (518) 789-4477) where it was diagnosed that the dual clutch needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the contact no longer owned the vehicle and sold it for parts. the manufacturer was not contacted. the failure mileage was 55,000.
The car shudders and feels like it os going to stall out. the car revs high when you press the gass but has no power. i've taken it twice to dealership and they say they have to fix the throttle body first before they can tell me if it's my transmission. also when i'm filling up my tank it stops every few seconds and will not allow gas to go in the tank. they also said it's my filler neck.
Car will stop accelerating or moving in the middle of driving and completely lock up. i am unable to go forward or in reverse when this happens. however the car will still rev just not move. this is so dangerous and has happened in intersections as well as on the freeway. i've had car looked at multiple times and have had to tow off side of freeway due to it not moving!
While accelerating after a stop light, the transmission shuddered violently before 'kicking into gear' and accelerating like expected. i am filing this and describing a failure this morning, but it has been happening for the last several years as well. it sometimes stalls a bit before the gears engage and it starts to accelerate. often, there is a grinding noise when right on the border between gears. this is an automatic transmission vehicle.
The transmission shuddered and delayed propulsion since i bought the car in 2011-12. took it to dealers numerous times for "updates" and listened to a variety of excuses as to why the shuddering-- but they never fixed the problem. eventually, last month a day after my engine light came on and warned of transmission problems, the fiesta stopped propelling my car numerous times on the way home. after stopping along the highway for a couple minutes, the car would move forward again. my car now seats in my garage, undriveable with an apparently failed transmission. service center that just examined the problem quoted me $4,400 to install new transmission!
Erratic shifting upon acceleration and deceleration, clutch shuddering on light acceleration, lack of power, and car jostling forward when braking at low speeds followed by almost stalling. this jostling requires me to press the brake hard to prevent a sudden forward-jerking motion. the jostling/jerking often happens when decelerating at intersections, making it dangerous for cars and people in front of me if i do not press the brake hard before coming to a complete stop. since early july, the car exhibits the same symptoms all the time when driving, making it generally unsafe for regular use. see uploaded vehicle service assessment from ford - they determined that there is a clutch and clutch fork b failure but no codes related to this concern were present during their diagnosis. the care was released and deemed "drivable" by the dealership.
The car constantly surges forward at dangerous speeds and won't slow down even when slamming on the brakes. this has happened over the years but is happening much more in the past year. this is a very dangerous problem. there were several occasions when i narrowly missed slamming into the car in front of me. i've also been thrust into a busy intersection. you must force ford to recall and replace these dangerous dps6 transmissions before someone dies. they and you have known about this problem for many years and have been putting more than a million car owners and others at risk. please do something now! while it has been happening over the years, the most recent near collision was in a busy intersection in chicago on july 8, 2019. thank you. the transmission failure warning has gone on numerous times over the years and causes the car to slow to 5 mph until the computer is reset.
Found this article talking about how ford cars (including 2011 fiesta) have faulty transmissions which can cause problems like 'shuddering, slipping, bucking, jerking, hesitation while changing gears, premature internal wear, delays in downshifting and, in some cases, sudden or delayed acceleration.'
Transmission not working. took to dealer said extended to tcm would be covered but not malfunctioning. clutch and internal assembly is failing.class action lawsuit and dealer suggested me to call ford. this is riduculous. car has actually been parked for 3 months because we were afraid to drive. afaid i will be in an accident if i drive this car and i will hold ford fully responsible if this happens. i am considering looking for an attorney
Excessive "shuddering" in dual-clutch transmission when pulling away from a stop. this is a widely-known design defect, but ford has not done enough to help affected customers. every ford technician openly acknowledges that it's a design flaw, and they know how to fix it. this is a safety issue since the car can stop dead in its tracks on a highway when the clutch fails. a recall is warranted.
The vehicles transmission abruptly down shifted while driving at a high speed. i almost was rear ended had i not moved aside. this has happened twice. there have been numerous reports of faulty transmission and electrical problems where it stems from. i was a die hard ford owner until ford refuses to repair the issue. maintenance has always been on time, and not just oil changes.
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fiesta. the contact stated that the vehicle did not change gears when started. also, while driving various speeds, the vehicle decelerated without warning and the transmission indicator illuminated. the vehicle was towed to kenny ross ford south (412-881-0001, located at 3200 library rd, castle shannon, pa 15234) where it was diagnosed that the clutch system needed to be replaced. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was approximately 90,000.
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fiesta. the contact stated that while driving at approximately 25 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed however, the vehicle failed to accelerate. the vehicle was taken to sam packs five start ford located at 144 n stemmons fwy, lewisville, tx 75067, (469)470-4900 to be diagnosed. the contact was informed that the clutch failed and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not contacted or notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 72,000.the vin was not available.
Since i bought this car used, i have had nothing but issues that are seemingly related to ford's dps6 transmission and electrical wiring. my gears slip out of place and my car doesn't seem to want to accelerate or slow down properly. my horn and front windows don't work and we've tried switching fuses and checking the door wiring. in relation to the transmission, i was on westbound i4 outside of downtown orlando around 2:00 4/24/19 (my birthday) and my car accelerated forward as i braked, which made me hit the car in front of me. there were no codes, no lights, no warnings on my car and it's under 100,000 miles. i was as a result faulted for my accident which skyrocketed my insurance. we spent money fixing the damage from the accident, not realizing that ford has been lying about their transmission. i bought this car used and have had it for less than a year and, the person who had it before me drove it as a work car. i attempted to bring my car in on 7/19, as i found an article from detroit free press about this problem saying ford dealerships would be able to attend to the issue. i called three dealerships and one hung up on me and the other two said that they couldn't help me. i do not feel driving safe in my car at this point as ford is dodging the issue at hand. i am a 21 year old supporting herself and i cannot afford to fix anymore issues that happen because of this insanely unbelievable error from ford.
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fiesta. while driving 15 mph up a hill, the vehicle failed to accelerate accurately when the accelerator pedal was depressed. there was no warning indicator illuminated. the vehicle was taken to kendall ford of eugene (located at 344 goodpasture island rd, eugene, or 97401, (855) 981-5490) where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be repaired. the vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. the same dealer diagnosed that the clutch assembly needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired again. the manufacturer was notified. the failure mileage was 147,131.
From the time of purchase, this vehicle has experienced issues at the time of acceleration after being stationary. due to this condition, the vehicle has been called back by the manufacturer, ford motor company, for a software update various times. however, after a short amount of time, the vehicle starts experiencing the same jerky acceleration issue again. during the time i used the vehicle while living in florida, this condition was not worrisome as orlando, fl is a flat terrain. however, since moving to the city of atlanta, georgia i encounter many intersections located in hills, for example the intersection of beech haven trail and cumberland pkwy se; when at the time of acceleration before turning, the vehicle jerks and does not immediately accelerate, putting my life at risk, since i can easily be crashed into by the incoming traffic due to the delay. even though i have owned this vehicle for years, i have not been satisfied since this defect has been present from the time the vehicle was new and has not been fixed after various visits to the dealership. with this note i record the state of the vehicle, like i mentioned previously, puts my life at risk.
Takata recall out of the blue, my car wouldn't go into reverse anymore. i took it to a place to have it put on the machine, and the report came back that it was my clutch fork and clutch position b, that needed to be looked at and checked. when i started calling around to different car shops, i was told there was a recall my exact same 2011 ford fiesta and that the recall was dealing with the same troubles i'm having. my car only has 64,000 miles on it.
I have two issues on my car. the first and most concerning one to me is jittering in the drivetrain up front when taking off. feels like its slipping in between gears. while dking this it sounds like metal components rolling close to each other as if there were some slop allowing them to float around some. thats all as far as drivetrain. my second issue is the front passenger side wheel area on certain bumps feels and sounds like a strutt or shock has wear on it and allowing it to make frequent thumping noises while going over these bumps. quite often with worn roads where i reside. other than these issues its been a really good gas saving car. thank you for your time.
The car shakes and shutters. rough when shifting. the speed will quickly change sometimes has problems starting. not safe to drive. ford dealership near where i live says it is the clutch and wants $1500 just to figure out exactly what is wrong. they highly suggest replacing whole transmission $5700 because if they fix one part and another breaks it will cost $1500 just to take apart again. crazy because it has only 91000 miles and is only worth $4500. help i don't have this kind of money for fixing this unsafe car
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fiesta. while driving various speeds, the transmission gear slipped and the vehicle would not immediately accelerate. the vehicle was taken to wilmes ford (108 n. veterans dr, altus, ok) where it was diagnosed that the transmission was faulty and needed to be repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 65,000.
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fiesta. while accelerating from a stop light, the vehicle vibrated violently. the vehicle was taken to multiple independent mechanics who stated that the transmission and fuel injection needed to be replaced. the vehicle was taken to citrus motors ford (1375 s woodruff way, ontario, ca 91761, (855) 451-7126) where it was diagnosed that the transmission clutch and shaft needed to be replaced. the transmission was replaced, but the failure persisted. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 50,000.
Transmission will not change gears. ford has extended warranty but it expires at 100000 miles. its a know problem with ford fiesta and focus during a few years that ford has not addressed. car was parked and as i started driving it was jerky and gears would not shift correctly. problem is not constant. it comes and goes.
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fiesta. while driving approximately 5 mph, the maintenance warning and major engine malfunction indicators illuminated. the vehicle failed to shift in different gears. the vehicle was taken to elder ford of tampa (9560 n florida ave, tampa, fl 33612, (813) 498-0779) where it was diagnosed that the clutch needed to be repaired. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the clutch warranty expired after seven years. the approximate failure mileage was 68,800.
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fiesta. the contact stated that the transmission malfunctioned. while driving 20 mph, the vehicle hesitated and would not reverse. the dealer (santa monica ford lincoln, 1230 santa monica blvd, santa monica, ca 90404, (310) 451-1588) stated that the warranty for the recall had expired. the manufacturer was contacted and stated the same thing as the dealer. the failure mileage was 50,000.
The transmission has been shuttering, stalling and jerking irraticly while in motion, on the street/ highway sometimes rolls backward and forward on reverse have notified manufacture they won't help put in shop replaced transmission cost 1700 and the problem still exists but worse now when turning jerks and shakes and is leaking tried to get it fixed again no mechanic will do the work plus now my warranty is expired and i can no longer afford repairs. this will be the third attempt on repairing the vehicle transmission. this car is very dangerous to be driving on the road can cause many accidents due to power train malfunction. ford and other mechanics don't want to do the work to repair the car plus all models transmissions are faulty regardless if it gets replaced. car needs to be recalled!!
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fiesta. while driving 45 mph, the rpms increased without warning. the vehicle was taken to ken grody ford (6211 beach blvd, buena park, ca 90621) where it was diagnosed that the pcm was fractured. the contact stated that the vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. the manufacturer was notified and advised the contact to take the vehicle to another dealer. the failure mileage was 88,587.
I firmly believe my vehicle was meant to be included in the dual clutch transmission recall but my vin number was never included in recall searches. however, i had been having slight issues with it for a while, like it seeming to slip gears or even 'catch' at times. i had taken it to the dealership where i bought it and told them what i thought it could be. i'm a smaller female, and the man i said it to laughed and told me that was his job and not mine and that i didn't need to worry about it. finally in may of last year, i was driving on the interstate (in a straight stretch about to get off an exit) and out of nowhere my car basically started stalling out, and jerking and kicking back. getting it back home was a nightmare, due to it having such trouble going uphill or even taking off from a stop. after that happened, i called the dealership where i had purchased it and told them what happened. they again said my car was not part of that recall. i called the corporate office, i've done everything i can think of. that car has sat in one spot for over a year, i still make my monthly payments. i even got one of those code readers and ran it on my car, and sure enough it said what i've been saying all along. i had to quit a good paying job and start working at a nearby gas station because i have no way to get to a job further away, let alone enough to pay for a tow or repairs.
My husband and i bought a car from them. it is in my husbands name. my husband is not from this country and doesn't know what things mean in their context. this car was sold to us as is with a branded title. we accepted that. however, the car was sold to us with broken parts and the repairs that were done to it were not done to standard oem specifications. the car was sold to us with a broken front axel. this is a major safety issue because had this completely broken going down the road and we were in a wreck that would have been bad. the car is not fixed at this time and they refuse to fix it due to the papers that were signed by my husband that of which i am sure he didn't know what he was signing being someone who has never bought a car before. i do t feel that this car lot should be allowed to sell the car in this condition even as is. please let me know if we have any rights here. thank you!
I've only owned my fiesta for 2 years and now my car won't move when i am in drive or reverse as i step on the gas peddle to accelerate. before this, my car would jerk forward when i would go to accelerate and act as if it was going to stall out in the middle of traffic. i've taken it to ford before to get the recalls fixed because my passenger door swung open while i was driving and they fixed the transmission and clutch recall but now i'm having problems again.
I was driving to work on the highway, it was slow traffic, and upon slowing down, i felt a lurch and a high pitch. the car continued to drive, and upon arriving to work a few minutes away, the car began to smell bad. i parked and turned the car off. i turned the car on again and it would not change gears. i had to get my car towed. the car is currently at a mechanic, and he sublet the job to a ford tech who is now saying that the transmission blew up. so now a transmission, trans computer, clutches, and fork have to be replaced and they are charging $5250 for the job. the car showed nothing wrong aside from the weird lurch. there was no check engine light, no trouble codes. the only thing i saw was after parking the car and turning it back on, a popup flashed on the screen saying transmission malfunction.
My son was almost killed over the holiday weekend when his vehicle power went down to around 35 in a 55 mph zone and would not get over the 35mph. this is the fourth time this has happened, but the closest time he has come to losing his life by being hit. we called ford and they said someone would call back as we have seen a recurring them of people having the same issues as reported on the internet but ford has not been responsive and it has been almost two months. he is to afraid to drive the car any longer so it just sits unuseable in my driveway.
My 2011 ford fiesta with only 94k on it has a automatic transmission failure and starting issues. there are recalls on where ford extended the tcm warranty to 10 years 150,000 miles which i believe may have lead to the failure of my transmission. the ford dealership in ankeny iowa says they will not do anything for me to fix this problem..
When turning the cv joint/axel makes grinding noise. i had serviced twice by ford dealerships and symptoms remain. they replaced axel boot (left half shaft). noise still remains. hasn't been proven to fix.
The vehicle shudders when accelerating. the check engine light comes on and the car makes a loud noise and does not accelerate.
I was at the rocky mountain national park when my car wouldn't start. i have a aaa membership so they came and jumped my car. we drove a couple miles bought a new battery but it was was not shifting properly . we called our ford dealership in wisconsin that we always go to and they told us the transmission control module will prevent car from starting , drain your battery , and not allow car to shift properly. the drive down the mountain was very scary the car would not shift right and jerked the car violently. the drive on the highway was not much better, we had semi's almost hit us. flashing lights at us because we could not speed up. we called around no one had the part we needed. with it being the weekend some ford service shops weren't even open. we were told not to shut car off because it might not start again so we drove all night long for 26 hours home at 50 mph because we could not go any faster. the speed limit was 75 mph and several times we had cars get right on our bumper and switching lanes at the last second. finally my husband put our hazard lights on so other drivers would realize we were unable to go fast. it was a scary and nerve racking experience. the ford fiesta has a really bad transmission that has broken on us before and ford keeps extending the warranty but that doesn't give us peace of mind when traveling. i have to worry every time i travel that this car will break down. in fact i have rented cars 3 times to travel because i don't trust my ford. this vacation i decided it was a waste of money to rent a car for a week and i took my ford and it let my family down for the last time. this car should be recalled because it is not safe. you have to make sure that you have a lot of room to pull out at intersections because it shifts so slowly and does not take off like most cars. please help get this unsafe car off the road. thanks
5 times repaired for some of the same thing. clutch replaced 3 out of 5, shaft seals replaced, reprogrammed several times pcm/tcm, pp test shudder, performed several adaptive learn strategies. in summary we have a lemon. if my son needed to get out of the way in a hurry, and couldn't due to the faulty parts on his car. he could be killed or injured real bad. then there would be a big law suit.
Transmission shudder and unreliability: my car frequently shudders when i start and, sometimes the automatic powertrain briefly detaches; in other words, applying pressure to the gas pedal on such occasions simply makes the engine whine, with no propulsive response. this has become a dangerous circumstance -- must be able to rely on the transmission responding to changes in pressure on the gas pedal. the problem is most acute when i'm accelerating from a stop; on the most recent occasion, i began forward motion at a stop light, but then the transmission detached and i just 'floated' into the intersection. removing my foot from the pedal and reapplying pressure overcame the problem, in that instance. the car also shudders violently as i start, or if i am going uphill slowly (such as in stop-and-go traffic). i thought there had been a recall of the fiesta to address transmission shudders, but i see no such recall on the nhtsa website.
My vehicle developed a low speed acceleration shudder. it was "fixed" under warranty. when it reappeared i found out it was a design flaw in the transmission and it would continuously reappear. i was fixed again under an extended 100,000 mile warranty at 86,000 miles. occurred again at 96,000 miles but it "passed" the shudder test and wouldn't be fixed under warranty. it is now shudders terribly and at 104,000 all future repairs will cost $2000 each time.
My car has been repaired 3 times and needs another repair for the transmission once again. in the past month this car has died on me while driving first time was at a intersection luckily i was able to pull into a gas station it was towed to carmax where they took it to joe myers ford they had it for week and some days. in which case they couldn't recreate the problem so carmax had it for almost a month and couldn't recreate it either so they had no other choice but give me back the death trap that will take my life. since having the car back it has died on me twice i called ford joe myers they don't offer loaner cars and i don't believe i should pay for a rental for their problem. in both cases i was driving when the tool light came on and malfunction appeared. i was just driving minding my own business when it started to slow dow and stop. when i turn the car off it's like it never happened. please help
There was an active recall on my 2011 ford fiesta hatchback ses that i aquired from an auto dealer but not from ford. took it to ford when i later found out about the recall on door latches and went to have the latches fixed and later that day the front passenger window pops off track and my window on the drivers side has issues with going up and down. the ford place said that in order to fix the windows it would cost 100.00 dollars to fix and they swear up and down thst they didn't work in the doors but the had to replace the latches. the windos wasworking fine until i took it to shaffer ford.they said in the shop that there was a recall on the transmission clutch and the control module but it seemed to shift fine and i now have a wrench light and not the oil light beside the wrench one but another one and the transmission malfunction alert comes on in the display. my girlfriend is pregnant and when it jerks when i come to a complete stop it pulls the car seat tight on her belly and everytime it hurts her. i believe it's a safety issue and my only means of transportation. if i knew about this car before i stated the finance, i would of purchased something else. just wanted to say thank from all us folks who got the ford fiesta. they are junk. i hope
