Tl* the contact owned a 2016 ford f-250. the contact stated that while her son was driving 35 mph and towing a trailer with his atv on, a vehicle in front was making a left turn and the driver depressed the brake pedal. an unknown warning light illuminated and the vehicle stalled. the contact lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the vehicle in front that was making a left turn. the vehicle continued 125 feet down the road, crossed over to the opposite lanes, crashed into some trees where it eventually came to a stop. no air bags deployed. the driver sustained a concussion from his face hitting the steering wheel during the impact, muscle neck and shoulder injuries which received medical attention from the hospital. the other driver sustained unknown injuries and was taken to the hospital via ambulance. a police report was filed. the vehicle was towed by geico to the contact residents where an adjuster inspected the vehicle and towed the vehicle to a repair facility where it was deemed the vehicle a total loss. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that no recall was under the vin. no ...

2010 Ford F-250

Traveling on i-15 freeway in southern california, going 70 mph on cruise. head a loud "bang", pulled over and saw damage to underside of vehicle and fluids leaking. transfer case appeared to be split open. towed to mojave ford dealership in barstow california, where repairs were made. description of findings is attached below. problem seems to have originated in the 4wd system. truck was in 2wd in the cab, however vacuum hubs were in 4wd. mechanic stated that this is a problem with ford trucks. no recall on file. post repair, the truck still stays in 4wd when reverting to 2wd from the cab. operator is required to manually put hubs into 2wd.

2002 f-250 7.3l diesel. driving down the highway pulling a horse trailer engine just completely stalled without warning. i lost all steering and brakes. i put it in neutral and restarted while coasting. drove another few miles and it stalled again. would not start again after that. this happened on a remote highway at night. had a wrecker tow us to a diesel shop who reported truck started fine next day. went and picked it up and it stuttered a few times on the way home but did not stall. a few months later, engine stalled at a red light in heavy traffic but started back up. took it to my mechanic who read a cam position sensor circuit fault on the computer. replaced cam position sensor. a few months later, stalled again at an intersection. i coasted to the side of the road and had it towed to my mechanic. upon arriving and unloading from wrecker. truck started up. started to drive it home and stalled again halfway there on a busy rural road with no shoulder. called wrecker again and towed to different diesel shop. replaced cps again and truck started fine. took it home and ran it ...

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 ford f-250. while driving at an unknown speed, the check engine warning indicator illuminated. the contact performed a diagnostic and found a code that indicated that the diesel exhaust fluid reluctant heater was defective. the contact spoke with two independent mechanics and phil long ford at chapel hills (1565 auto mall loop, colorado springs, co 80920, 844-234-1769) and was informed that there was an unknown recall placed on the vehicle for the failure; however, the vin was not included. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and transferred the contact to nhtsa. the vehicle had not been repaired. the failure mileage was 59,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2003 ford f-250. while driving 65 mph, the vehicle began to stall without warning. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the turbo needed to be replaced. the vehicle was taken to penske ford (located at 8970 la mesa blvd, la mesa, ca 91942, (619) 464-7777), but was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified. the failure mileage was 72,000.

Tl* the contact owned a 2015 ford f-250. while driving approximately 65 mph, the "low engine power" and "low fuel" messages appeared and the contact detected a burning odor coming from the engine compartment. the contact heard an explosion coming from the engine compartment, which he belived was the master cylinder. the contact then noticed flames under the hood and smoke trailing behind the vehicle. the contact pulled over into a parking lot and unhooked the fifth wheel camper that was being towed. bystanders assisted the contact with pushing the vehicle away from the camper. the fire department arrived and extinguished the fire. the police was present, but no report was filed. there were no injuries. the vehicle was towed to an impound lot. the vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the contact also mentioned that the failure occurred three days after the fuel filters were replaced by an independent mechanic. the vehicle was destroyed. the approximate failure mileage was 61,000.

The radiator is separating at the seal at the edge. we are losing approx 1 gallon of antifreeze a day. i have heard this complaint from several dealerships we have talked to and other customers.
