Rear passenger side window regulator broke for second time allowing window to fall and shatter inside door while driving in traffic on interstate. very dangerous, very expensive.
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford f-150. while driving at any speed, the seat belt indicator illuminated and remained activated. the vehicle was taken to finnin ford (3600 dubuque st, dubuque, ia 52003, 563-556-1010) where it was diagnosed that the rcm needed to be replaced. the technician stated that there was no recall. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist. the failure mileage was approximately 50,000. *tt *js the consumer stated 7 wires were burnt through in the wiring harness. *js *tr
1. i am not alone in a complaint about the fuel canister being a problem on the f150- i have complained about this twice now- others in the forum are doing the same. the vapor canister in the engine compartment becomes faulty and the engines stall or runs rough- when it stalls, it is impossible to steer. i grew up without power steering- 97$ out of pocket- dealer couldn't figure it out- had another mechanic diagnose and repair. it's a simple fix- yet can be dangerous if someone with strong arm strength cannot turn the vehicle or use the breaks. this has to be looked at.! i should have been reimbursed! waiting for someone to get killed is inexcusable- happened with just 35k miles on truck. 2. seems ford has a mega defect with bad design on their f150 power rear windows with the heat grids going bad- this happened at maybe the same time, and unless i spend 1000 dollars, i have no rear-window defogging- this was nearly a 50k vehicle, and just started to fall apart after the ...
Rear window shattered when rear defrost was running. defrost had been running for 10 minutes. very loud pop while i was driving on the interstate. *tr
Driving to work on a crisp fall morning in october 2014, i put the rear window defogger on. about 10 minutes later, i heard a loud pop that sounded like one of my windows had been shot out. i stopped to investigate and discovered that my right rear window had shattered (spider-like cracks throughout though still intact). i understand that this has occurred on scores of ford f-150s. luckily i was only driving 35 as any faster and i might have lost control due to the fright. when is nhtsa going to do something about this? or do about a dozen people have to die first before any action is taken? *tr
I have had sunroof fixed twice. keeps jumping off track & now need to get it fixed for third time. also, all 4 power windows have failed and had to be fixed a few times. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2005 ford f-150. the contact stated that the windows dropped inside of the door panel while being opened. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was found that the regulators needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. the manufacturer was contacted about the failure. the failure mileage was 114,000. *tr
2010 ford f150 supercrew power rear sliding window pass side only, cracking upon turning on rear defroster after a few minutes. temperature 15 degrees within a few minutes of leaving a store parking lot and now driving down the highway a few miles i heard a loud bang ( many others posted say it sounds like a 22 caliber shot gun ) i looked around and saw the rear pass sliding window shattered but still intact. this is the first time i had to use the rear defroster as it was snowing sleeting outside. i have had this truck for 2 years and never had to use it. now when i get home i decide to google search this and couldn't believe how common this is. turn out there is a problem and ford will not make it right unless you are very lucky and persistent. the heating element gets so hot that it shatters the glass. they claim glass is not covered. its not the glass, its the heating element. i called 3 local dealers today and 2 of the three said they knew about this but ford wont offer compensation. i was told to call the insurance ...
When i pulled out of parking lot at approx. 5 mph i heard a very loud noise in the rear of the truck. sounded like something hit my vehicles back door. when i looked back all looked normal. a few minutes later i heard air blowing. like a window was down. rear window had started to slowly slide down. mechanic informed me the window regulator had failed. 203.00 just for the part !!!! and he said more will break too. nice job ford. *tr
On my 2004 ford f150 xlt lariat supercab, the passenger rear window regulator has now failed. the driver's one went first (within three years of ownership), then the front passenger one (a few months later) then the rear passenger one ( about a year after the first) and now this. all four regulators have had to be replaced from the original factory installed ones. this latest one occurred while the truck sat parked in the driveway unoccupied; all the others happened on the roadway while the vehicle was in motion. *tr
