Tl*the contact owns a 2001 ford f-150. while travelling at 55 mph, the hood of the vehicle popped open; the hood also became bent as it flew backward. the hood also caused several small cracks in the windshield. the vehicle was taken to a body shop where the contact was informed that the latch under the hood broke and caused the failure. the current and failure mileages were approximately 117,000. updated 11/03/10 *bf updated 11/04/10

Tl* the contact owns a 2001 ford f-150. the contact inadvertently tried to open the door to the rear driver side of the vehicle, but the door would not open. the contact stated that this was a recurring failure. the dealer diagnosed that the door upper locking system need to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. the manufacturer was not notified. the vin was unknown. the approximate failure mileage was 130,000. updated 10/31/2017*cn

Tl*the contact owns a 2001 ford f-150. the contact stated that when he attempted to close the driver side front door, the chrome plated door handle cut his left hand. the dealer stated that the door handle was defective due to the chrome peeling. as of september 4, 2007, the door handle had not been replaced. the failure mileage was 44,500 and current mileage was 45,000. updated 09/18/07*jb

Ford f150 crewcab, the interior light does not shut off which causes the doors not to lock . this is a security problem for my wife. after calling ford to report this problem they couldnt help me. also, a problem in the 1995 ford ranger. but the part were very expensive. *ak

Latch on vehicle is not aligned correctly with door, and door locks up incorrectly. contacted dealer, and dealer adjusted door, but the problem still remains.*ak

Tailgate will not stay closed, intermittently would pop open. been in dealer shop on two occasions; but, problem still reoccurring. *ak the dealer had installed rear tailgate strikers to solve the problem but it did not correct the problem. *yh
