I just purchased this truck yesterday 12/29/11 and i drove it home parked it and got in the vehicle this morning, started it and the airbag light began to flash at me and then stayed on my whole 1 hour drive to work. i have 4 children, and am afraid that the airbags are going to deploy while they are in the vehicle or not deploy if we are in a collision. if there is a recall please let me know, i need to get it fixed. *kb
My son was involved in an accident on 4/22/2010 while driving a 2000 ford f-150 4x2 two door pickup truck. side marks at the scene revealed that the f-150's anti-lock brakes did not engage causing the truck to slide resulting in a failure to stop in time to avoid the accident. the air bag did not deploy after the front-end impact and the seatbelt did not lock causing my son to be thrown forward heating his head on the sun visor and snapping his head backward rolling his face into the roof of the truck and injuring his neck. he also bruised some ribs on the steering wheel and jammed several fingers. the seatbelt did keep him from being ejected from the vehicle but by not engaging, caused unnecessary injuries. had he been driving at a higher rate of speed at the time of the impact he injuries would have been far more serious and even life threatening. we purchased this f150 on 1/19/2010 from the city of mount juliet, tn. the vehicle was well maintained by the city according to the vehicle maintenance records. we request to have a non-partial expert examine the vehicle to determine the cause of the safety features failure to deploy on this vehicle. *tr
I was driving northbound on a 3 lane main road (2 lanes going one way, 1 lane going the other way) at about 40 mph. while coming up to a t-intersection (i had the right of way, the sentra had a stop sign) about 20 to 30 feet from crossing the intersection, the sentra proceeded to cross my lanes to make her left turn. as i tried to avoid the accident i ended up hitting her sentra head on. after the impact my airbags did not deploy. as for her sentra the impact was on the front left tire so no airbags deployed in her car. i have a 2000 ford f-150 and hit her head on....but no airbags deployed. could this have been a possible defect on my truck. i had pictures taken minutes after the accident. *tr

I rear ended another vehicle that was completely stopped. i was going about 35 to 40 mph. there is $8500 damage to my f150 truck. the damage is all in the front end. my air bag did not come out. no one can tell me why. had the air bag came out that would have been enough damage to total the truck. now i will be driving around in a truck that i don't know if the air bag will work or not. *jb
My son was traveling about 45 mph and a car turned left in front of him. he hit the car in the drivers side and neither one of his frontal air bags deployed. the other driver was in a honda civic and both his air bags deployed. my son had back, neck, arm, knee and leg injuries. the police and fire dept said the air bags should have deployed. the truck is being looked at now to determine if it can be fixed or totaled. *jb
Air bag light came on say the bags are out and they are not and it keeps staying on. i can not get it to stay off please see if there is a recall for these because my daughter had a 1997 ford escort that caught fire because of a recall on the airbag that she was never notified about. *jb

I was involved in an accident on 9/2/02. i was north bound on hwy 52, a car in the south bound lane of hwy 52 lost control and slid and spun across the grass median and hit my truck in the left front corner to center line of the front bumper. the point of impact on his car was left rear tire/wheel and quarter panel area to rear bumper of car (car was left broadside to me). i was going about 45 mph prior to the crash, and my airbags did not deploy on impact. i did have the passenger side airbag turned off, but due to the severety of the collision, i feel the the drivers side airbag should have deployed. if i had not been wearing my seat belt, i would have been thrown forward into the steering wheel and windshield, with no airbag to protect me from injury.*ak

My family and i were traveling at approximately 55mph on a divided highway and were hit in the front of the truck by a car that was performing an illegal u-turn. the truck was totaled and neither airbag deployed. my wife, me and two children were hurt. i subsequently had a lower back fusion operation as a result of this accident. i believe that ford is at fault based on faulty airbags. how is it possible that neither airbag deployed when there was a direct frontal impact at 55 mph? i would like to obtain more information regarding potential airbag defects specific to this vehicle. i am 100 percent disabled as a result of this accident and my attorney at the time did not want to go up against ford motor co. any and all information related to the above would be greatly appreciated. i would like to consider a class action lawsuit if it is determined that ford had an issue with the airbags in the ford f-150. *tr
