Fuel tank sloshing and clunking noise underneath the driver and passenger seats. the vehicle fuel tank design locates a portion of the gas tank under the vehicle and below the seats. when the gas tank is above half full, you can hear and feel the gas moving in the tank, especially at low speed, during traffic with frequent stopping. not sure how safe is to feel the gas moving inside the fuel tank and the noise when the gas impacts the gas tank walls. when the tank is full and you brake, the fuel sloshes forward and moves something inside and slams against the inside of the tank.
Re: 2017 ford explorer. car dying out on acceleration from a stop. a scary thing happened on rt #619 today in hartville. that is, the car died out halfway out onto the roadway, it pauses for some seconds where the accelerator does nothing. then it picks up by itself. the throttle does nothing. none of these actions are desirable. these behaviors put us in great danger. so let's see, this happened twice in the morning i brought it to the dealership (monday 01-06-2020). and, it happened once the 2nd day back to me on friday 01-31-2019. but it did not happen for you in the 4 weeks you had it to test. amazing isn't it? well, i think i'm going to go along with the many other people online that report the identical problem that i experience. in my car, it's been a problem since new. i do believe ford is well aware of this problem. i also believe they're not going to do anything to correct it until they're made to. when i asked the service manager, he said to me: "ford told us ...
I have received carbon monoxide poisoning from driving my 2013 ford explorer. i also have had the front end looked at and repaired had to pay most of the costs (extended warranty paid for some) for the front end popping sounds while turning. the sound is still there and on both sides now. so money wasted towards ford!! the vehicle isnt drivable at this point and that leaves me without a vehicle.
My car is leaking fuel under the hood of the vehicle - so much fuel that it has soaked the cover on the engine block and the cover across the top of the interior of the hood. it is actually dripping down when i lift the hood. it is so strong on the interior of the vehicle that i can taste it in my mouth/lungs when i sat in the vehicle.

Vehicle has strong fuel smell inside cabin at startup but there are no engine codes to check. other year models of this vehicle have had a recall on the fuel system leaking, but not yet on this year model as far as i could find.
The explorer was put into reverse. the vehicle drove forward about 3 ft, jerked, then slammed into reverse. reaction time on my behalf was slow as it was unexpected, i almost hit a light pole. this occurred in a parking lot
When starting vehicle, the inside of my vehicle fills with a strong smell of gas. this is an ongoing and reoccurring issue. i believe it may be the cause of my 6 year olds child's frequent headaches and bouts with nausea that began at the same time i started noticing the gas smell issue.
During low speed maneuvers like parking and when coming to a stop, the fuel sloshes loudly and can be heard inside the vehicle. it sloshes most noticeably when the fuel level is above 3/4 full. the fuel moves so much it sometimes sounds like there's something hitting the floor underneath the driver seat or a driveline issue.
Persistent emissions smell in cabin causing headaches for the driver. roesche ford in elmhurst illinois conducted warranty work which consisted of "reprogramming" the car. the fix did not work and roesch filed an appel to ford - who is denying liability and claiming the "reprogramming" is the fix. i have also filed a claim with ford cas24714279. this is the exact same problem the police interceptor explorers is having and is well documented - ford has even set up a hotline for the police - but ignore the individual owner.
