The right rear tire experienced a tread separation while driving 60-65 mph with two adults and two children in a 2001, ford, explorer sport suv. while driving driver noticed a loud banging noise, and the vehicle was losing steering control. consumer pulled the vehicle off the road, and noticed that tire cause damages to the fuel filler neck line. it was an after market tire installed at 51, 000 miles, tire size p235/75r15 and dot# 88l3l63101. the tire dealer was notified.*ak
Ford is a complete rip off and sold me a lemon i will never ever buy or recommend a ford in my life all we've had is problems... we just brought our ford explorer to mt. vernon ford in ny and they told us they will check out what the problem is and if we decide for them not to fix it there our charge is 85.00 dollars and if we fix it there they will put it towards the repair and told us the problem we are having is from not maintaining the car how dare they make such a statement i have always taken care of my cars i have a nissan with 130,000 miles i haven't even changed the clutch still original well we decided not to have the repairs done there and when we got there they charged up over 130.00 dollars i am disgusted and i am going to report ford to the bbb and every complaint center that i can... we only have 50,000 miles on it and before 36,000 we had to put in a new transmission it's a lemon a piece of junk... we've also brought it in for the passenger seat belt and they still haven't fixed it and i swear to god if we are involved in an accident or get pulled over by the police someone is going to pay for it trust me law suit and all. *la

Firestone, wilderness ht, tire size p235/75r15. customer stated two tires were cracked around sidewall. only one of the tires will hold air. dealer contacted.*ak firestone declined to replace the cracked tires but the consumer paid and replaced it. (dot vdhl irw 080) *yh

When driving on slight uphill roads and making turns left or right, like on ramps to freeway at very slow speeds, 5-10 mph, vehicle is hard to control. goes all over road, braking makes it worse. dealer replaced steering gear and tires. did not remedy. to dealer 9 days one time, another 14 days.*ak consumer also states engine makes a grinding noise right after start-up.*jb
Power steering motor problems with front end. also tires. contacted dealer, and dealer could not find anything wrong.*ak
Vehicle continually exhibits front end vibration, several repair attempts (changing of the firestone tires and replacement of the axle), however vehicle is still experiencing vibration problems, possibly related to the tires and the suspension of the vehicle.
