Paint is peeling off my 2000 ford excurson. seperating from the primer similair to my 1988 bonco ii. *tr

The paint is peeling off of my 2000 excursion. the dealership body shop manager, ford regional manager, service manager and everyone who has looked at the vehicle all agree that this is a manufacturing defect in the lack of application of the "seal coat". i brought this to the attention of the dealership while my warranty was still 100% valid and was casually brushed aside as surface scratches. now chunks of paint are flaking off of the body. the dealership and ford want me to pay $1,000 portion of repairing/repainting. i want the defective paint fixed. meanwhile i have been getting the run around for the past 4-5 months. *jb

I purchased my 2000 ford excurion in summer 2003. the interior lights have been repaired several times times for staying on randomly. the backup beeper has never worked and when i tried to have both items repaired under the $2000 extended warranty i bought they told me it was not covered. i also have seen the records for this vehicle from the previous owner (that the dealership accidentally sent me) and the vehicle had been in for the same problems as i have before i ever purchased it and that was not disclosed. the paint in the winter of 2003-2004 started peeling off of the area bove the windshield and the roof of my vehicle. i took it to the dealer and they told me there was nothing they could do because it had been repainted. i took it to a body shop and they told me that the paint lines show that the vehicle was never repainted and that they have seen several ford vehicles with this problem, and ford is very relucatant to help people in thi situation.. my husband now has a ford truck too which he purchased used, and has the same interior light problems i have. the last time i contacted the dealer to have the ford representative contact me, i never even received a phone call from the service manager or ford. they ignore my contact and calls, especially randy in the service dapartment. the original complaint i made to them was 2 1/2 years ago and they have done nothing to help me or resolve my problem. *nm

While driving, the door opened as the consumer made a turn. the force from the consumer's arm and body caused the door to abruptly open while the vehicle was in motion. *ak *jb

Consumer states when braking the vehicle shakes violently. ts

Factory paint is chipping and pealing all over 2000 excursion. originally started when i purchased the vehicle used in 2002. have talked with several people with excursions and pick up trucks with the same issue. *tr

While servicing the winshield washer fluid resevoir, i noticed an area of rust located on the right side of the vehicle where the fender joins the firewall. upon closer inspection, the same problem was observedon the left side. after returning the vehivcle to the dealer for inspection, they noted that they would have to remove both fenders and hood etc. to see how extensive the problem exists. presently, we are awaiting a ford representative to view this vehicle and recommend what corrective action will be required. they have had this vehicle in their possession for 10 days. nlm

Dealer stated that the power door actuaters "short out on these vehicles quite often."*ak

When applying brakes at any speed there is pulsation forward/backward motion. also, vehicle is too heavy for the brakes. dealer now recommends new front rotors, rotors are warped.*ak the vehicle pulls to the right and the left. consumer complains of stiff steering and the rear door doesn't open, nor does the passenger side rear door. it is hard to open from the inside.

Rubber mount attached to bottom of frame is touching the spring, causing vehicle to bottom out, and front end to shift from side to side on a gravel road. there is only approximately less than 1/8 of a inch of clearance which is not enough to absorb shock. other ford heavy duty trucks have 3 to 3 1\2 inch of clearance. *ak *slc

On several occasions, vehicle pulls slightly at slower speeds 15-40 mph and violently at speeds above 55 mph, the pulling would occur to both the left and right sides and intensify as the brakes get hotter, dealer replaced disc brake rotors and pads, aligned front end and rotated tires, however repairs did not remedy problem, tech states that engineers are working on repair solution. *tt

Owner inadvertently closed the rear tri-doors on the vehicle in the wrong order, which resulted in explosion of rear window glass, causing cuts to himself. *cj

This vehicle shakes, rattles and rolls constantly , alignment 3 seperate times, extremely hard too stop, nothing but problems with frame and chassis. i am currently waiting for a dsb hearing in regards to ford repurchasing vehicle as previously they denied repurcahe of vehicle. i have also submitted all of my repair orders to ford for review and i am told i will have to testify at the dsb hearing and havent received a date for same. this vehicle is the worst too try and control, stop or drive due to steering whhel shakes, frame stability and lack there of.
