We have classified the 29 complaints from 2000 Ford Excursion about ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING into the following categories.
While driving 45 mph vehicle stalled. this caused the driver to drift to side of the road. consumer had the vehicle towed to the dealer, and mechanic determined that engine spark plugs blew out of the engine. mechanic replaced the spark plugs. *ak
1) engine would stall or completely quit going down the road in traffic any were it wanted 2)cam shaft position sensor was going out truck would stall 3)ford service department changed cam shaft position sensor. *tr
While driving 70 mph took foot off accelerator while getting ready to exit, and vehicle started to lose power, which it actually did. also, stated by vehicle was stopped, it has lost power steering and v stalled. had not contacted dealer. *ak
When applying brakes lost control of vehicle. engine slowed down. also, hesitated without prior notice. *ak
Oil leakages due to engine galley plug coming out of it housing on two other occasio. dealer notified, and unwilling to assist in this matter. feel free to provide any further details on this matter. *ak
Since ownership vehicle has experienced intermittent stalling problems, vehilce has been taken in for service numerous occassions without being repaired, consumer was advised that it would not be cost effective to replace random parts that may be causing the stalling problem. *jb
While driving and when making a right or a left hand turn consumer has noticed a very loud knocking noise when turning. consumer has contacted dealer. *ak sway bar repaired. mounts, bushings, bolts and springs were missing. steering was lost twice. the dealer had tried to repair but the problem still continued. *yh
