When you take the transmission is sluggish on changing gears and after a change out of logan her into high gear is sykes working fine wine step on the brakes the truck starts bouncing feels like the front end is about to fall out from under the truck and i told you to the ford company and they said there's no any recall on my vin number but i have a part that is listed under the government site is good that's what's going on with my vehicle is a ford escape 2008.
I have been having multiple problems with this vehicle. i went and got the power steering recall fixed 1 yr to maybe 2 yrs ago and ford said it was fixed. now i'm having power steering going out while driving and car pulls to the right. i then turn the vehicle off and back on and it goes back to working correctly. i went back to ford and they said that the recall has been fixed and closed out and nothing they can do. now i'm having power steering still going out and now all my lights (abs, traction control, tire, air bag, anti theft light). after spending 200 at ford they told me ecm is bad and need to replace. almost 500 at ford for keys to be programmed to new computer i am still having same problems and ford wants me to spend more money to see what the next step is.
Ok as i was making a right turn off the highway i felt my steering wheel tighing up to point i have to a make sudden stop because of the loss steering.look it the message center lost message showing passages air bag off. showing check brake system.showing battery light on lost thing going message center.
In the dash and the steering wheel, the covers for the air bags have become super sticky. i am wondering if, because of where the air bags are, that something has happened behind the covers that is effecting the consistency of the covers. i have tried all kinds of cleaners, goo be gone, alcohol to remove or reduce the stickyness but nothing has worked. i am worried that if the air bags are deployed that they will either not work or that some chemical reaction has occurred that would be worse than then not deploying.
Ford escape approached a city street intersection with right away by green light. a truck ran the red light of same intersection. the ford escape veered to left to avoid being directly hit by truck. air bags of ford escape did not deploy, whereas they did in the truck.

My car was involved in an accident, on the hwy, in which the driver lost control and the car rolled several times. the 2 front airbags never deployed. none of the 3 adult passengers were seriously hurt. the car was totaled. i bought the car from a ford dealership for $15,000, used. the airbags should have opened. the driver and passengers could have been killed. *tr
There are two specific but related problems reported to ford without resolution: 1. dome light assembly - switch burnt: in early 2014 the manual slide switch on the dome light shorted out and melted ? burning the inside of the assembly. thus, the switch would no longer operate properly. it was disconnected by the owner. a ford replacement assembly was purchased in september, 2014, which replaced the defective assembly. the assembly had an engineering change which eliminated the manual slide switch. owner has pictures and has retained the defective assembly. note: the melting of the slide switch and burning of the plastic housing could have ignited the headliner. very dangerous. 2. air bag fuse: when replacing the dome light assembly, it was noticed that a fuse had blow due to the switch melting. the fuse panel was accessed and it was verified that fuse #25 (demand lamps) was open. a spare fuse, per the owner?s manual, was moved from position #32 (spare) to position #25. the new dome light now worked properly. however, the next day it was noticed that the srs (safety restraint system) light was on which indicated a possible problem with the srs. the car was brought to the dealer on september 30, 2014. it was determined by the dealer that fuse position #32 is really not a spare as indicated in the owner?s manual ? it is instead the fuse that controls the restraints control module circuit which when it was removed caused the srs light to appear. (of course the dealer charged for the service!) subject vehicle owner?s manual can be found online.) note: the owner?s manual must be changed to reflect the appropriate fuse locations. if someone had to use the spare fuse incorrectly marked, while driving remotely, and then subsequently got into an accident, the airbags would not deploy! very dangerous. *tr

I was hit head on by a vehicle that was traveling aprox 60 miles per hour. my airbags did not deploy. but the airbag light on my bash lit up as if they had deployed. i have asked several certified mechanics why this happened and have never been given the same answer twice. i asked a ford plant worker that helped build my escape, he also had no answer. my brothers was also involved, this last summer, in a high impact totaling his focus and the airbags did not deploy, again, no answer, just a lot of shrugs and him hawing. once again my best friend had a 2012 explorer it was 4 months old she hit a deer full on causing over 18,000$ in damage, and again, no airbags deployed! why? i find it disturbing that we all paid no less that 15,000$ for a ford vehicle and none of us were protected by the safety equipment, nor were we provided with a sufficient explanation as to why it did not work. do any of you have a viable non double speak reason for this? * information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6) * tt

Air bag amber warning light comes on after starting engine (solid light). most times it will go out when you turn the ignition off and restart. stays out for several weeks and the problem returns. this is happening for over a year. several different dealers have confirmed problem but don't have a fix. is the air bag system functional? *tr
My airbag does not work for me i weigh 126 they said it can't be fixed it's made for a child i'm not a child. i should of been told this before i bought the escape. i was lead to believe i had the safety of a passenger airbag. i wouldn't have bought this car if i knew this. i was lied too. i'm not safe. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2008 ford escape. while driving between 25-30 mph on normal road conditions, the air bags deployed without an impact or crash occurring. the driver sustained minor injuries from the moderate force. the air bag warning indicator did not illuminate on the instrument panel. the entire instrument panel, windshield, and steering wheel were damaged. the police was called to the scene and a report was filed. the vehicle was able to be driven to an authorized dealer for inspection, but they were unable to determine the cause of the failure. the manufacturer was notified, but did not assist. the vehicle has not been repaired at this time. the failure and current mileages were 111,000.
I was traveling down a busy road at about 35 miles an hour and collided into a vehicle that pulled out in front of me. my front passenger side area (the passenger side headlight) impacted with the drivers side passenger door of a 2002 mercedes benz. the mercedes' airbags deployed on the side of the impact. none of the 6 airbags deployed in my brand new 2008 escape. fortunately none of my passengers (wife, 4 yr old daughter, 11 mo old son) were injured. if this accident had occurred on the interstate or had we been traveling faster, due to the air bags not deploying, bodily injury and or death could have occurred to the occupants of my vehicle. there were damages to my vehicle in excess of $8500 at the initial estimate. i am still waiting for my truck to be fixed. i will attempt to contact the dealership as well as ford motor company to work out a remedy if possible. this is an apparent defect and needs to be addressed asap. if you have any advice on how i should approach this with the dealership and or ford mc, please let me know. *tr

My daughter weighs about 90 lbs. when she sits in the front passenger seat, the airbag intermittently turns on and off, some times depending on minor posture changes, sometimes at random. the dealer has seen this and says there is nothing they can do as the settings are federally mandated. it seems that it is a safety hazard to never know if a piece of safety equipment will function or not. if the air bag should be on, then it is unsafe for it to be on; if the sensor says it should be off then having it on would be unsafe. *jb
