Tl* the contact owns a 2008 ford edge. the vehicle was taken to coggin ford jacksonville (9650 atlantic blvd, jacksonville, fl 32225 (904) 747-8996) for the nhtsa campaign number: 14v682000 (fuel system, gasoline). the fuel tank was repaired with a wax seal. one month later the contact noticed a large fuel leak from under the fuel tank. the contact called the dealer and got a return appointment. the dealer tried to charge the contact $1,600 for the fuel tank even after the initial recall repair was covered under a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty. the dealer referred the contact back to the manufacturer. the contact got a case from the manufacturer who stated knowledge about the recall warranty. the manager at customer relations at the manufacturer stated there was nothing they could do about the issue and hung up on the contact. the result was that the vehicle had been at the dealer for two weeks and was still unrepaired. the contact just spoke to the dealer today and was told that there was no replacement fuel tank for the repairs and to come tow his vehicle away and fix it himself with a used part.
2019 ford edge st - using parallel park assist feature, i followed prompts on screen, the car backed into another vehicle, damaging the right rear quarter-panel of the edge. i had to take over and brake once i realized it was about to hit the other vehicle. no alerts or warnings appeared on the screen. the system shouldn't have continued with the parking steps if it "lost" its sensors on the space and should have sensed an object in the path. the vehicle also has transmission shifting issues around 25-30 mph. nearly stalls before shifting into gear and accelerating. this happens 100% of the time driving in stop/go traffic, slow accelerating (not putting pedal to the floor), and driving city streets. thick ice/condensation builds up on the interior side of the windshield when parked outside in a cold climate. must be dried with a towel (towel will be soaked from the amount of water build-up) before car can be driven. defrost does not solve the issue.
I was driving to my mothers house on 11/10/19. whole is was driving on route 1a my air bag exploded and it caused me to crash and it totaled my car. the news reporters came to the seen it aired for 2 days on channel 5 news. there has been a recall on my air bags since 2017 and ford didn't have the parts to my car to fix the issue they also didn't have the parts in 2018 as well and ford just place another recall on my vechile as well in february 2019 for the air bags again. this issue almost cost me my life. the town the accident took place was in walpole, ma on main street.
The interior of my car filled with gas fumes after filling the tank on11/4/2019. i called don hinds ford the next morning and dropped it off that evening. the service department inspected it and found that the gas tank was leaking. the gas tank had been replaced due to a recall just 15 months ago. ford refuses to replace, stating hat the warranty is expired. we have asked our dealership to complete the repairs. my concern is that ford motor company replaced defective gas tanks with defective gas tanks. ford customer service suggested that i take it to an "authorized ford service provider" even after i told them that it was already at a authorized ford sevice provider...even though my car is leaking gas and could catch fire, even though i told them that my car's interior was filled with gas fumes.
Fred beans ford closed my recall on fuel tank corrosion and says its fine. ford wont do anything cause fred beans says its fine!
Leaking gas, wheels feels like its wobbles, steering is humming, seat belts strap lock and you have no moment.
While drive about 50 miles per hour on the street the wrench light went on then off. i pulled up to a stop light and when i tried to accelerate the car could hardly move. i was only able to limp along until i got to my destination. i shut the car off and when i came back after about 2 hours it started and has been driving fine the last two days, for now. no wrench light no power problems. i've been researching this issue online and have seen numerous other complaints with the same description as mine. a throttle body seems to be at fault. apparently ford knows of this issue and did not do a recall. rather they did an extended warranty that ended in 2015.
There is a partial recall on these model ford edge's. where the brake booster and brake master cylinder are defective and cause the brakes to fill with air and lose partial and sometimes total loss of braking power. this happened to my 2012 ford edge sport. i bought new factory parts and had them installed by a professional. they went out again. it had to do with he factory of the parts. please place a mass recall on this part. my wife and kids shouldn't get into a wreck due to brakes going out again. they already have totally gone out twice. the 2nd time my wife with daughter and my son in the car couldnt slow down in time and got into a fender bender. it wasn't serious. this time. thank you. also, another problem that has been noted by thousands of ford edge owners is the style of fuel door. it doesn't seal properly which in return causes a check engine light to appear on the instrument cluster. please investigate this issue as sell. thank you.
