Passenger side door latch illuminates dome lights and gives me 'door ajar' message when door is in fact closed. this prohibits the doors from locking while driving. there is currently a recall for the driver side, however mine is passenger and ford will not replace it. this occurs daily.
Recently had my vehicle serviced for an ongoing door lock issue where ford extended warranty coverage. during the most recent service on 7 jan 2020, the service advisor also indicated and documented that the ptu (power transfer unit) is leaking from a vent and that indicates it needs to be replaced at approx $1,800.00. the vehicle as noted in their records and my odometer, had only 39,100 miles at this time. per research on the web it appears this is a well known issue with the ford edge that ford is aware of and discontinued using that particular ptu. when questioned, the ford advisor at holman ford indicated he was not aware of any such issues nor that a different drive part was now being used by ford. ford is not offering any form of compensation or credit or any recompense at this time.
Was driving at about 55 miles per hour when what sounded like a shot gun went off my panoramic sun roof exploded. all around the outside permeator middle had a hole
While driving at approximately 55-60 miles per hour the traction control and traction control off light lit up and a red brake malfunction light came on and the engine stopped while the car was in motion. we coasted to the side of the road and it took two attempts to start it again. the traction control light and traction control off light is still on. it happen three times so far and two of those times was while we were on the interstate in traffic travelling at 60-70 mph. this was not safe at all. when it shuts off there is a big thud sound and the traction control, traction control off and a red brake malfunction light comes on. after the second time there is now a rattle. i have the car at home now but it has a hesitation in it when it is first started this all has happened in the last 4 days.
Front driver door latch malfunction. doesn't latch properly and causes door ajar sensor to stay on perpetually. due to not latching properly, it poses a safety hazard to the driver. ford has had a history of such issues and has recalled some of them but not on my make and model.
I went to work this morning and parked car i had a half a tank of gas and 8 hours later when i got off of work the gas gauge said that i had a full tank of gas. when i got home and parked car i smelled a lot of fumes and gas.
Door is ajar needs to be fixed again. the door latch assembly is an issue. i have had it replaced at 24k miles and now out of warranty it needs to be replaced again. there need to be a recall on these door switches. one has to open and close the door several times for the warning to go away.
Door ajar problem
Door ajar light and warning alarm on when all doors are closed car has approx. 38,000 miles and is in excellent condition. ford dealer wants $743 dollars to fix!. should be a recall.
Door ajar warning won't go off when car is running which will not lock doors
While driving my car the ac shut off the radio shut off and the radio display and the lights on the dashboard and the vehicle slow down at flickered off for a moment then came back on and i stopped and turned the car off. i then started it with no issues so i kept driving within less than half a mile it did it a second time and i took my car home and let it sit. i have taken it to a ford dealership and they can not find the problem. this is the second time its happened to me since buying it used in august 2018
The drivers door latch latches but the light comes on and says the door is ajar....making me leary if the door will open while driving.....happens while the vehicle is parked and driving
Brake booster. i have new brakes on my car but still feel like i can't stop right away like i should be able to. my husband has a ford edge 2019 for work. his car doesn't seem to have this problem. either does my friend who has a ford edge 2016. i can be in a parking lot and backup and feel like i'm going to hit onto the car behind me cause i don't stop right away.
Driver side door ajar warning when door is not ajar. problem started approx mid may 2019, mileage under 60,000 miles.
The brakes started to become harder to apply. an air hissing sound came from the brake pedal. the car would intermittently be impossible to brake, but all other brake parts are intact (according to mechanic). the vehicle is in motion when the braking problem was noticed. the air hissing sound can be heard when in park and the brakes are applied as well. there is an acknowledged problem with this part in a posted extended warranty, but the terms of that do not apply to my specific vehicle. i am showing the exact same symptoms and i was almost in 2 different wrecks when my car wouldn't stop - and it will cost $1000 to fix! it seems if the problem is acknowledged in others of the same vehicle, it should be addressed in all of the same. this is a huge safety hazard.
