Fuel tank leak, fuel odor
Check engine light comes on from error code p0456 - small leak detected in the evaporations emissions (evap) system. the check engine light comes on every time the vehicle is fueled with gasoline. my mechanic advised this is a common problem in fords with the no gas cap system.
Plastic fuel tank leak from steel mounting bracket repair to replace fuel tank
Throttle body and motor asy i replaced this on 2/13/2016, later found out there was a recall and was reimbursed in 2014 but on 2/26/2018 it went out again an replaced at my out of pocket again. i ask is this a fix or just a replacement no one will answer me. this is dangerous, the car just stops no power, if in heavy traffic could be hit from the rear, not good. is the replacement a fix oe just a replacement?
2 main on going issues 1. brakes- from day one, constantly-needing to be re rotored / new pads / grinding squeaky sounds - all the time. ford blames me for ' not driving enough ' ?.? concerned for safety - will they fail? 2. took car in today 4.5.18 - for 2nd time due to odor of propane or gas when coming to stop / low speed or idleing.. was told no bulletin or notice out for issue - which was leaking fluid undercar -which ' could cause fire ' was told i could not leave with my vehicle, rental was provided under my paid warranty. review of online info shows many stories out as well as lawsuit on this very odor issue- yet i was never informed. smell has been ongoing since sept. 2017
Fuel line leak
Code p2111 occurs and at stop light engine appears to almost stall. while driving the stability control tuns off, low oil pressure light comes on, and check engine light comes on. problem goes away while driving after a second. at the stop light, it begins every time you come to the stop light. ford says nothing is wrong but this appears to be another throttle body issue with ford edges.
I have been smelling fuel/gas or sulfur like smell in my suv took it to the ford dealer in richmond, ca 3 times starting in april 2017, jan 2019 and again sept 2019 finally i was told i needed a ptu unit each time i took it need they could not locate the problem. it has become very bad and more often my car does not leak gas. i am really concern because now i have to take my granddaughter to school plus i am over 70 yrs and worry if someone runs into me will my car catch on fire or one day it will catch on fire it happens unexpectedly sometimes if i'm driving up a hill or for a long period of time (maybe an hour or so) and it only happen when i am driving and the smell fills my entire car that i have to let all the windows down and once i get home the whole car smells to the point i get sick (nausea) eyes burn and a headache. i have been so discussed with dealership that they were not able to detect this problem 2 yrs ago. i am so surprised that there has not be a recall on this dangerous problem by ford.
1.a wrench shaped light came on from instrument panel, and having a sudden loss of power while driving. 2.the accelerator stops working or has extremely limited power. 3.after power off the vehicle and wait for 10-15 minutes to restart the vehicle, the wrench shaped light goes away and the vehicle in drivable condition again. but the problem could happen again within a day or in few days. it is really dangerous while during in highway or in busy roads when this problem occurred. the problem happens randomly. sometimes it could happen several times in a day, sometimes it won't happen in a week. i called ford dealers and they said to diagnostic it for $98 and only when the symptom happens they will be able to find the real cause. i searched online and it's a very common problem to 2010 -2013 ford edge owners.
My vehicle smells like gas after 5 minutes driving. took the vehicle to the dealer they could tell me the problem and insisted they did not smell nothing. i very concern. i can't drive the vehicle like this. the gas smell its bad. i found a recall on the body control module on this vehicle. please help me fixed this problem.
2 times today i lost power and my car crawled out of the road. the wrench lit up and after i stopped and restarted car it was back to normal. first time was pulling into work then after work on the way to the dealership. they are fixing it. said it was a faulty throttle body control module. before they called back i looked this up and there were many statements on this happenning. if i had been on the interstate i could have been killed. i don't know why there hasn't been a recall before there are any lawsuits from people dieing.
Vehicle slowed and shut-down. dealer stated throttle body had an electrical short . unsafe driving condition to say the least. vehicle shut down on public street..vehicle mileage was 52,964.
When driving in certain days especially after the car has been sitting over the weekend you can smell exhaust fumes in the cabin
While driving down the highway, my 2011 ford edge lost all acceleration and the awd warning light came on with the lighted symbol of a wrench. i was almost rear ended by several cars before i could make it side of road. i had to shut vehicle completely down and restart. this problem continued for several more times. ford needs to address this problem before several people get killed.
On occasion, when breaking at slow speeds (like pulling into a parking space) while depressing the brake peddle, the car will accelerate and lurch forward. my foot was nowhere near the accelerator peddle. this happens about once every few weeks.
The door ajar warning lights come on every single day for all doors. constantly causing surmountable stress to driver. if unable to get the sensor to turn off, the doors do not lock while driving, which is terribly unsafe for driver and passengers. also, because the dome light is connected to the door, the lights stay on draining battery. i've also had the door ajar sensor warning come on while driving down the road, when it was previously not on. there are also warnings "check fuel inlet", but there is nothing to check. the only problem is that the sensor has a problem! which then in turn makes the engine light illuminate because it thinks there is a leak in the fuel inlet, or perhaps thinks that the seal isn't closed because ford decided the cap-less fuel inlet was a good idea. it's not!
When driving car at any speed, engine suddenly loses all power, orange wrench comes on dash, there is no way to keep car moving.driver must realize what just happened and try to navigate car to a complete stop in asafe spot.on multiple occasions my wife was nearly rammed off the road when this happened on 295 in south jersey, this is a very dangerous problem for all cars nearby because it comes with no warning and no outward sign of a problem.compounding the problem is that you have to put the car in park for it to restart, neutral wont do anything, ford has recalled over a million cars with this problem, please do whtever you can to speed up this recall before the deathtoll starts to climb,
Driving on interstate car loses almost all engine power warning light goes on towed to dealer told throttle body needs replacement part backordered now going on 3 weeks car has 52000 miles service advisories for this part on other ford models not edge
Car stalled when enmotion at 40 mph wrench light comes on also awd light stop turn off engine and restart car it runs normal at that point but will do again unexpecting at another time and place .speed is no factor at any given speed it will stall.it is unsafe to drive.
Traveling at 55mph, lost thrttle control, yellow wrench icon appeared. was able to pull over. engine was still running. turned off engine, and resarted. everything was normal on way back home. car still parked, haven't been to dealer shop yet.
Car looses power with no warning, accelorator does nothing.have to turn car off and restart.this is a serious safety problem,i was nearly t boned by a semi crossing a main road when i had no power and stalled in middle of highway,if not for great reaction of semi driver iwould have been hit broadside at 50 mph.this has to qualify as a safety recall if ever there was a need for one.
I left my house in the morning on 11/6 and after a short drive the "awd off" and a "little wrench" light came on and the car lost power and just stopped in the middle of the street since i was trying to go up a hill. thankfully no one was behind me!! it started to run very rough so i turned it off quickly, waited a few seconds and restarted it. the car then ran ok and got me to work and home again but when my husband took it to run an errand that night, same thing happened to him and then again this morning when i was bringing the car down for service. this was three times in one day! with no warning the car just loses power and stops. very dangerous!! i'm afraid to drive my car now and i don't want to be on the highway and have this happen - someone is going to get hurt. the dealer cannot duplicate the problem or find a code coming up to reveal the issue.
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford edge. while driving 20 mph, the vehicle stalled, lunged forward, and the limp home mode independently activated. the check engine and throttle control actuator stuck open warning indicators illuminated. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the full throttle body malfunctioned and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the vehicle was taken to be inspected where it was confirmed that the throttle control actuator was stuck open. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 62,800.....updated 03-31-16 *bf *cn
Vehicle completely lost power while driving 45 mph on busy 4 lane road with no shoulder. yellow wrench lit up on dash and car completely and immediately shut down leaving me without the ability to steer and safely remove the vehicle off of the road (i was almost rear-ended and a car had to swerve to keep from hitting me). this happened twice in 8 hours. car has been maintained, had fuel, new battery, etc. with no other warnings or indicators. this issue is very dangerous!
Engine stalls, changes to limp home mode. this can happen during acceleration or at speed. the error wrench lights. this has resulted in an unsafe deceleration in traffic. dealer finds no code in the system. engine will run fine after shutdown and restart. the incidents occur on surface streets, intersections, and at highway speed. the ford case number is case number cas7831451v2q4h3. no satisfaction from ford at this time.
Certified pre-owned 2011 ford edge limited awd. purchased in nov. 2014. on monday, june 8, 2015 as i was driving at 55 mph, a light came on on the left hand side of the instrument panel. the light said "awd off" and had a little wrench symbol on it. the car abruptly lost power and i just coasted out of the way of traffic and onto the side of the road because there was no shoulder. i tried to press the gas pedal but nothing happened--there was no acceleration. my vehicle essentially "died" without warning in traffic. weather conditions were sunny about 85 degrees. the radio and ac worked, but the gas pedal did not. the vehicle sounded like it was going to stall out and was sputtering as i coasted. i put the vehicle in "park" and turned the vehicle off. i waited several minutes and restarted the vehicle. vehicle seemed to work ok and no warning lights came back on afterwards. i called the dealership and arranged for me to have my car inspected for the cause of this malfunction. i paid $111.30 for the vehicle to be hooked to a diagnostic machine but the dealership was unable to get any "codes" from a diagnostic reading nor could the dealer replicate the warning light to come on. on june 24, 2015 the same issue happened again. i took a photo of the light on the dash, sent it to dealership. third time happened on friday, july 10, 2015 and i was on the highway in the passing lane and had to coast across the slow lane to get out of the way of traffic so i wouldn't cause an accident. again, i took photos of the odometer and the "awd off" light and sent to dealership. dealership sys without a code from diagnostic machine, they can't tell what is wrong. fourth time happen last night, july 14, 2015. this is a huge issue as from researching on the internet, a lot of other ford edge owners experienced the same problem! please help! i feel like i'm getting no help!
The first time the problem occurred i was driving down a street and had slowed to make a left turn into a retail establishment. just as i made the turn the vehicle shuddered slightly and immediately lost forward momentum - it was like the vehicle was in neutral - i had no acceleration. a wrench appeared on my driver's display. i was able to pull to a stop and i shut the vehicle off. after several minutes i attempted to start the vehicle. it took several seconds longer than normal for the vehicle to start but it did. the second occurrence happened in my work parking lot. i had backed my vehicle out of my parking place and just as i started to accelerate the vehicle shuddered slightly and i again lost any acceleration. i turned the vehicle off and restarted immediately. again, it look slightly longer than normal for the vehicle to start. the third time i was driving 55 down a road when the vehicle suddenly lost momentum. same deal with limping to the side of the road, praying this time that nothing was coming as the vehicle was only half off the road. it started with effort. in each occurrence the wrench appeared. this has all happened over a period of 13 days. i contacted a local ford dealership saturday and described the problem over the phone. the mechanic said he was very familiar with the problem - that it was the throttle body. i decided to do some online research and discovered complaint after complaint describing the same problem. i'm very disappointed in ford for not making this problem more of a priority. does there need to be a loss of life before something is done? we will be driving several states away in just a few weeks and i have absolutely no confidence in my vehicle. i certainly don't want to be traveling 75 miles an hour on a freeway when my vehicle suddenly decides it doesn't want to cooperate. very, very disappointing. *tr
Defective throttle body. entering highway at approximately 45 mph and accellerating when car de-acclerated on its own to a crippling 2 mph. moved over to the far right side with car moving at 2 mph until i was able to get off highway and part car. let sit 15 minutes and car started and acclerated appropriately. 2 weeks later same thing. acclerating from a stop at a stop ligh and car de-acclerated on its on and limped to 2 mph untill i could pull off road and let sit. started badk up and drove ok. about two weeks later happened again. on august 30, 2015 the car began doing this daily and took 9 times of letting car sit after it de-acclerated to get home from work. called ford motor company and they claim no recalls for the defective throttle body problem that ford edges are having. researched the internet and see thousands of complaints with this issue. defective throttle body on ford edges including the 2011. called ford and lodged a complaint. took car to skillman ford in greenwood indiana and was diagnosed as a failed throttle body and needed replaced. was informed it would cost me $664.71 for me to have it repaired. was also informed there were no ford financial assistance programs to help me pay for repairs on the defective throttle body which is a ford problem. i did authorize the repair as i need my car. i am very unhappy with ford as they will not cover there defect and it is a known ford defective part-throttle body. what will it take for ford to step up and cover their defects? as much as i love my edge i will not purchase another ford product because there is no customer service programs at ford motor company (not the dealership where i got my car repaired) when there is an issue with defective parts and getting them replaced by ford. shame on you ford motor company.
While driving, car lost all power on highway, gas pedal unresponsive, pulled over, restarted car, ran as normal. happened a couple of times before, some with engine warning, some without. suspected throttle body. contacted ford, was stated no recalls for the edge on this issue. purchased a new throttle body and installed. no more problems.
On several occasions the vehicle lost all acceleration and power to the engine. yellow wrench showed there was a warning, and check engine light flashed, but upon turning off the car (the main electronics ie:radio/ac still worked) and restarting it resumed "normal" functions and driving. we had several times this happened to us. all of the occurrences happened in the middle of accelerating and at different speeds. two were on residential roads, one was in a busy intersection, and one (the worst) was on the freeway 3 lanes over from the right shoulder going with the flow of traffic at 70mph. the dealership was unsuccessful n assisting with the problem because without a check engine light they were unable to diagnose the problem. but our latest incident, on september 11th, 2015 (this time the wrench and awd off flashed), the check engine light stayed on and it was diagnosed as a bad throttle body. this is more than dangerous it is a russian roulette of whether the car will work or not. please take this situation seriously, there are many other people http://m.carcomplaints.com/ford/edge/2011/engine/engine.shtml complaining about the same year and model as my car, having the same exact issue. this should be put on recall immediately.
Car suddenly lost speed and slowed to crawl while driving, issue is with the electronic throttle body. *tr
While driving through an intersection, vehicles stalled. "awd fail" light exhibited. turned off ignition and restarted. second event, same circumstances, again had to coast to side of intersection to restart. same indications. took to dealership and diagnosed as throttle body failure. had to be replaced. concerns: (1) safety (2) throttle body should not be failing with this few miles (3) ford forum indicates that this is a recurring issue with other ford edge vehicles. but there has been no recall or extended warranty. *tr
Car almost shuts down, you can drive it at 1 mph or restart & it works fine. engine light does come on. had it towed to dealership & they couldn't find anything wrong. we are both handicap, it's are only car & shuts off daily. dealership can not do anything unless we bring it, take a mechanic with us & it happens while he is in the car!! *tr
This is the second time i have experienced a complete loss of acceleration. i brought my car to local ford dealer about a month ago and they installed a software update and said that should fix the problem but the problem occurred again today. luckily both times i was in a place where i was able to pull off the road. these are the symptoms: 1. sudden and complete loss of acceleration while traveling at speed 2. wrench icon showed up on the dashboard display 3. coasted to stop and applied brake (car began to shake) 4. shifted to park and shut car off 4. restarted car and everything back to normal. the problem is that ford states they cannot replicate it and once the car has been restarted the wrench icon and problem go away. they say that once the wrench icon goes away the computer doesn't store the error code and therefore will not show them the problem. they tell you to drive the car to the dealer while the wrench icon is still on the dashboard but that would be impossible unless it happened right next to the dealer. *tr
The vehicle just looses power. this happens right in traffic with no warning. there was not a crash this time but it was very close. we had nowhere to get off the road. this is the third time this has happen in the last two days. it appears other people have had this problem and it is the throttle body. you can shut the car off and restart and it is fine again. dealer says there isn't a code so they can't say what the problem is. someone is going to get hurt and i understand ford has recalled other models in the same year for throttle body problems. *tr
My vehicle all of a sudden slowed down to a coast and would not accelerate. a yellow icon appeared and informed me that i needed to take the vehicle in to the dealer asap, there is a malfunction in the vehicle's awd system. i was able to pull over to the side of the road and turn of the car. the car then started and i was able to get home. when i brought the car over to the dealership i got hit with a $1,000 bill, for the part (throttle box controller) $475, labor $120, re programming the computer $130, fuel injector cleaning $159 and oil change $75. my car is almost three years old and i take good care of it. it is not acceptable that an electrical component's part and labor replacement cost is $1000 in less than three years. *tr
Accelerator became unresponsive in heavy traffic at speed creating a very dangerous situation. the engine was running but you were unable to accelerate, had to maneuver out of traffic on to the shoulder of the road and wait in high volume traffic to be towed. *tr
I was driving 25 miles per hour on a major roadway and for no reason the car lost acceleration. the engine began to shake and gasp. after i lost power to the engine i could only drive one mile an hour to try to get off the road in heavy traffic. i did not get in an accident but it could have easily happened. a yellow warning wrench icon appeared. i turned off the car. i restarted the car and the problem resolved. i took it to a repair shop and they cleaned the throttle body because no error codes were found and it was dirty. it happened again one week later when i was traveling 50 miles per hour. i tried to drive to a dealership to keep the wrench icon on but the car stalled. i restarted and the problem resolved but i continued to a ford dealership. once again there was no code. i have researched this on the internet and it is happening to others as well. this is very dangerous and i am lucky it did not cause an accident. this should be recalled and repaired by ford. *tr
Was driving in busy residential area and the car started to shudder and eventually lost all power to the engine and the dashboard displayed a wrench symbol. it seemed like it was going to stall. i was able to get to the side of the road. i then turned the engine off and upon restarting was able to drive the short distance to the dealer. the dealer performed a pcm reprogram. per the diagnostic notes, after getting a code of p260f they reprogrammed the car to the latest calibration, test drove it (approx 9 miles) and no sign of the problem. i picked the car up on friday, sept 5. today, sept 7, 2014, just 2 days after "fixing" the problem, the exact same thing happened. similar speed, car started to shake and unresponsive to accelerator. fortunately, i was at nearly the same location so i was able to get to the side of the road without incident. after researching the issue, this appears to a pretty common problem in the ford edge owner community. however, if this issue were to happen while driving on a freeway, the outcome might be very different. hoping someone can help with this issue. i no longer feel safe driving this car. *tr
I had just purchased my 2011 ford edge sel driving it for the first time after driving it home. i was driving on a two lane hwy when i lost power, a warning came up on the dash awd off with the little tool beside it. i had to coast off to the side of the road and thankfully there was a place to pull over. i waited a few minutes then restarted the car and it drove fine until 1 week later while i was driving on the interstate it did the exact same thing, the car shut down again. i did make it to the side of the road this time it did not want to start so i waited alittle longer and tried again and it did start back up. i pulled out and less than 1/2 mile down the road it shut down again. i managed to get it to the side of the road turned everything off restarted it again. all of this happened at night with just me and my son, we were scared to death . i did make it home that night. i called the dealership where i purchased the car and was told that they couldn't see me until 1 week and 2 days later. i took it to the dealerships service dept today and was told that they can't help me with my car since it is a ford and they are a chevy dealer and i need to take it to their ford dealership. i should have been told this before i drove an unsafe car 45 minuted down the road. after complaining to the salesman who sold me the car , they are going to take it to the ford service dept for me (its 3hrs from my house) but that is not until next week. i am stuck with an unsafe car to drive that i just purchased and haven't even made the first payment . *tr
While driving at highway speeds on an interstate, there was a sudden loss of accelerator power. i was able to maneuver the vehicle to the side of the road, park, shut the engine off, and restart with seemingly no repeatable affect. dealer not able to reproduce the problem but says that it's probably the throttle body. this loss of power and required shoulder maneuver could have caused a significant crash due to surrounding traffic. *js
Driving on the road and making a right turn, the vehicle lost accelerator response. had to coast of the road in a very busy intersection. the check engine light and the wrench light on dash lit up. turned the car off and on 3 times and then i could drive like nothing happened and the dash lights went off. it happened again a week later on the highway at 65 mph. i was on th eleft lane and there was no shoulder so i had to coast thru threee lanes to the right shoulder. again, turned car on of several times until regained accelerator response. when i reached my destination i located an obdii scanner andd the p2111 code came up. this is the same issue as the ford escape that was issued an extended warranty. investigating thru the internet there are many complaints of the same issue on the ford edge. why is it ford not acknowledging the issue and do the same as for the escape vehicles? *tr
While accelerating from a red light, my 2011 ford edge became unresponsive and would not accelerate, as if going limp. car then rode rough and sputtered as we pulled over on the side of the road. after turning off the engine i restarted the car and all was fine. i had it towed to the dealership who diagnosed the problem as a faulty throttle body. *js
When driving wrench symbol comes on dash . car losses power .when press on gas car does not move . rpm gauge goes crazy (up and down ).have to pull over .shut car off .restart engine. drive car until it losses power again without warning. very dangerous. someone is going to die this problem needs to be look at .it is going to happen in an intersection ,on a turn , on railroad tracks .only the car knows when it is going to lose power. *tr
Driving down the road, the vehicle suddenly lost power and the gas pedal became unresponsive. "see manual" warning light with a wrench icon came on. pulled car over, and restarted the vehicle at which time the car drove normally. took it to local dealership, where they were unable to pull the error code. continued driving vehicle and error occurred intermittently. today, occurred twice on my drive in to work (5 miles), the second time the "check engine" light came on. took vehicle to autozone, they pulled a p2111 code. having throttle body serviced tomorrow at local repair shop. the last time this happened today was in an intersection - very nearly caused an accident. this throttle body failure seems to be a common issue. i find it very curious that there has not been a recall yet as this is clearly a widespread issue and it is clearly a safety issue. *tr
While driving in traffic at approximately 40 mph, the engine suddenly went into safe mode and the vehicle slowed causing following traffic to take evasive action to avoid the car. although it was difficult in traffic, i was able to move to the right lane and then into a gas station parking lot without significant incident. i shut the engine down and restarted. the wrench alarm was gone and the engine ran normally. i drove to a dealership where a throttle body issue was diagnosed. the total fee was $500 and the vehicle still drove normally. *tr
While driving around 65mph, the vehicle suddenly went into "limp" mode with no ability to maintain speed. i was on a 3 lane bridge without a shoulder and it was difficult to navigate the vehicle safely through traffic from the far left lane, across the bridge, and onto the upcoming shoulder. the red "wrench" light came on along with the "awd" light. pressing the gas pedal had no impact to rpm's (which stayed around 700rpm). brake screeching from another vehicle was heard as my vehicle coasted across the 2 lanes of traffic. after coming to a stop, i turned off vehicle and restarted without any warning lights and vehicle drove normally. incident occurred again 1 week later in heavy traffic, aproximately 65mph. red wrench light, awd light. this time engine light also came on. i maintained my lane, put on my hazard lights, put car in neutral, turn off ignition while coasting, slightly tapped brake to restart the car. vehicle started but warning lights did not reset and vehicle still in limp mode. without the ability to maintain speed, i coasted to the shoulder and came to a complete stop. turned off vehicle again. restart and red wrench light was off and awd light was off. engine light stayed on. vehicle drove normally. took it to a dealer who replaced the throttle body at my cost. vehicle is not safe when suddenly going into "limp".
Driving on i-65 in an area with 4-5 lanes of traffic with a speed zone of 65 mph when the vehicle lost power - wrench light warning light came on - had to maneuver the vehicle across 3 lanes of traffic during rush hour to reach the emergency lane. it was sheer luck that i made it to the emergency lane without being hit by another vehicle as i could not speed up the car and the speed was nearing zero mph. the vehicle had to be towed into the dealership where it was diagnosed and eventually repaired under warranty. it took the dealership approximately one week to repair the power train issue. per my research on various ford edge sites, this is a very common occurrence and ford has failed to recall this issue. luckily, i was not harmed. however, not everyone will be this fortunate. ford needs to recall this issue asap. *tr
The throttle body failed while i was driving about 65 miles per hour on interstate 65. this fail happened at an extremely busy portion of i-65 as you leave indiana and cross into louisville, ky. luckily, the time of day was approximately 1:30 p.m. so traffic was rather light. if this had happened during rush hour, i would not have been able to get my car off the interstate and over to an emergency lane. who knows what that result would have been - a horrible crash - possibly death. ford really needs to step up and recall the throttle body part. as i have researched this on the internet, i see many instances where ford appears to have several models (old and new) that are experiencing failed throttle body components. this is unacceptable and will surely cause additional fatalities (they have already had one fatality due to this part failure). *tr
The power steering does not work properly at low speeds. this is identfied in ford's tsb 10-21-1 steering the vehicle is very difficult. i'm concerned that the ability to properly control the vehicle at low or high speeds may become a problem. this is a major safety concern. by issuing a tsb, i believe ford is acknowledging that there is a potential safety problem with the power steering system - a major component of vehicle safety. the advancetrac (stability/anti-rollover system) appears to have failed indicated by the warning lights on the dash. intermittently, the warning light turns on and then off while driving or parked with engine idling. based on numerous occasions, i believe there is a fault in the stability system. ford technicians cannot replicate the problem. many other owners appear to be having the same issue with the ford edge and f-150 trucks among other ford vehicles. the fuel system displays a warning that the fuel inlet requires checking due to a vapor leak. ford replaced a traditional fuel cap assembly with a capless system which appears to not seal fully or allows debris to keep the system from remaining fully sealed. there appears to be many other owners who experience this same warning light with a malfunction indicator light illuminated that cannot be turned off. if fuel vapor is leaking, there is risk of vehicle fire or explosion. *js
