March19, 2017 while driving 20 mph from our neighborhood to church with my wife, there was a loud clunking from front passenger side. we turned onto the main road and as speed increased to 55 mph, the windshield cracked and i noticed the hood of car was raised up about an inch above the fender. we immediately turned around and drove slowly back to the house. the attached photos show what had happened. there is considerable damage to the sheet metal body components, windshield, plastic parts. there are many similar examples of the strut tower spot weld failure reported on the internet. all seem to be on the passenger side.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford edge. while driving various speeds, the vehicle made a chime sound and the door warning indicator illuminated. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
Driver's side door ajar warning stays on majority of the time. you have to open and close the door at least 3 times everything you get in the car before it will turn off. understand a lot of edges have this issue and it should be recalled. instead of having to pay out of pocket. *tr
Retaining clips for plastic dash trim broken, allowing trim piece to dislodge and wedge between dash and hands on steering wheel resulting in inability to control vehicle. *js
2010 ford edge, passenger side inside door handle, chrome plastic paint comes off..when it comes off it leaves a sharp edge, thus resulting in three hand cuts in my family before discovering what caused it...one resulting in an 83 year old with finger wound. took ford edge to dealer, who says this is happening to edges and fusions, and new inside door handle was ordered, in mean time duct tape covers the handle in a new care with less that 4,000 miles on it. *tr
I was driving my 2 week old 2010 edge limited, on a highway in stop and go traffic,when i was hit from behind by a tractor trailer loaded with asphalt shingles. i was pushed into a car in front of me and both cars were totaled. during the crash, the components of the dash were ejected into the backseat. . if someone had been seated in the back seat, i'm sure they would have been severely injured by the debris.the dashboard stayed in place. also, the drivers seat brokefrom it's anchors. the air bag did not deploy. *tr
2010 ford edge. consumer states constant high pitch noise coming from the cabin in the vehicle *tgw the dealer informed the consumer, the noise was a characteristic of the vehicle and nothing could be done. *jb
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford edge. while driving at speeds of 25 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. the failure occurred on three separate occasions and was taken to the dealer. the dealer advised there was a mouse living in the vehicle and eating the air filter and sensors. there were unknown repairs made to the vehicle however, the failure persisted. the contact believed there to be a design flaw in the vehicle that would allow a mouse to live and damage the vehicle. the vin was not available. the failure and current mileages were 10,000.
